O vertime. Overtime shall be compensated for at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the regular rate of pay for time worked beyond the employee’s regular scheduled workday (minimum of eight (8) hours) or the hours in excess of the normal full-time work period. Effective October 6, 2002, hours worked after twelve (12) consecutive hours within the twenty-four (24) hour period shall be paid at the rate of double time (2x) the employee’s regular rate of pay. Employees working twelve (12) hour shifts will receive time and one-half (1-1/2) after twelve (12) hours and double time (2x) after fourteen (14) hours. Time paid for but not worked shall not count as time worked for purposes of computing overtime pay. All overtime must be approved by supervision. Overtime shall be computed to the nearest quarter hour. There shall be no pyramiding or duplication of overtime pay or other premium pay paid at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2). The Employer and the Union agree that overtime should be minimized. If in the Employer’s opinion overtime is necessary, volunteers will be sought first and if there are insufficient volunteers or an excess of volunteers, reasonable overtime may be assigned equitably. All time compensated at time and one-half (1-1/2) or double time (2x) will be considered overtime whether designated as premium pay or overtime.

All additional overtime hours after twelve (12) consecutive hours within the 24-hour period shall be paid at the rate of double time (2x) the employee’s regular rate of pay. Time paid for but not worked (including on-call pay and pay for educational purposes that are not required by the Employer) shall not count as time worked for purposes of computing overtime pay. All overtime must be approved by supervision. Overtime shall be computed to the nearest quarter hour. When an employee is eligible for both time and one-half (1½) and double time (2x) pay, the employee shall receive the higher of the two pay rates. The overtime and double time provisions of this section shall not apply to time spent for “educational” purposes (CE days, education leaves or educational offerings, etc.) unless such educational activities are required by the employer.

O vertime. An employee who works more than forty hours in a week shall be paid one and one-half times his/her normal hourly rate for all hours which exceed forty hours worked in a week. For purposes of this section, a week shall be Monday through Sunday. Any absence for which the employee is paid shall be considered hours worked in computing the hours worked in a week. No overtime shall be worked without written pre-approval of the Superintendent or designee (principal in the case of employees assigned to a school). An employee may be required to work on a holiday or weekend. In the event an employee is assigned to work on a holiday or a Sunday, the employee shall be paid one and one-half times his/her normal hourly rate, in addition to his/her annual salary, for all hours worked on the holiday or Sunday.

When employees are required to work in excess of their regular scheduled hours of work they shall be paid at the rate of one and one half times (1½ X) their regular straight time hourly rate for the first four (4) hours of overtime worked beyond the regular hours of their shift. For overtime hours worked beyond four (4) hours, employees shall be paid two times (2 X) their regular straight time hourly rate of pay. If employees are working an additional day of overtime they shall be paid one and one half times (1 ½ x) their regular rate of pay for the first twelve (12) hours, and double their rate thereafter. When the needs of the operation require it, employees may be required to work overtime. However, all overtime is voluntary after an employee has worked twelve (12) hours in any shift or forty-eight (48) hours in any week. Employees shall be paid for all overtime worked at the appropriate overtime rate of pay as described in this Article. However, with the agreement of the Co- operative, employees may bank their overtime worked, at the appropriate overtime rate, to be taken by mutual agreement as paid time off work.
O vertime. Any Part-Time or Reserve employee required to work in excess of one-hundred and six (106) hours per fourteen (14) day pay period shall be paid time and one half for all hours over one-hundred and six (106) in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. All pay shall be based on the nearest quarter hour for computing the number of hours worked.
