O vertime. Overtime shall be compensated for at the rate of one and one-half (1½) times the regular rate of pay for time worked beyond the normal full-time work day or normal full-time work period. All additional overtime hours after twelve (12) consecutive hours within the 24-hour period shall be paid at the rate of double time (2x) the employee’s regular rate of pay. Time paid for but not worked (including on-call pay and pay for educational purposes that are not required by the Employer) shall not count as time worked for purposes of computing overtime pay. All overtime must be approved by supervision. Overtime shall be computed to the nearest quarter hour. There shall be no pyramiding or duplication of overtime pay or other premium pay paid at the rate of time and one-half (1½) or double time (2x). When an employee is eligible for both time and one-half (1½) and double time (2x) pay, the employee shall receive the higher of the two pay rates. The overtime and double time provisions of this section shall not apply to time spent for “educational” purposes (CE days, education leaves or educational offerings, etc.) unless such educational activities are required by the employer.
O vertime. Overtime shall be compensated for at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the regular rate of pay for time worked beyond the employee’s regular scheduled workday (minimum of eight (8) hours) or the hours in excess of the normal full-time work period. Effective October 6, 2002, hours worked after twelve (12) consecutive hours within the twenty-four (24) hour period shall be paid at the rate of double time (2x) the employee’s regular rate of pay. Employees working twelve (12) hour shifts will receive time and one-half (1-1/2) after twelve (12) hours and double time (2x) after fourteen (14) hours. Time paid for but not worked shall not count as time worked for purposes of computing overtime pay. All overtime must be approved by supervision. Overtime shall be computed to the nearest quarter hour. There shall be no pyramiding or duplication of overtime pay or other premium pay paid at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2). The Employer and the Union agree that overtime should be minimized. If in the Employer’s opinion overtime is necessary, volunteers will be sought first and if there are insufficient volunteers or an excess of volunteers, reasonable overtime may be assigned equitably. All time compensated at time and one-half (1-1/2) or double time (2x) will be considered overtime whether designated as premium pay or overtime.
O vertime. The District reserves the right to require a unit member to work overtime and to determine when overtime is to be worked and who is to be assigned overtime duties. The unit member will, upon request, be released from an overtime assignment if a qualified replacement is available and willing to work and, in the sole judgment of the District, is qualified to perform the assignment. When the District determines that overtime is required and determines that a pool of equally qualified employees exists, the supervisor shall allocate such overtime on a rotational basis when practicable in the judgment of the supervisor. In such cases, the District will make a good faith effort to offer such overtime to eligible unit members in the appropriate classification before offering it to substitutes. The rate of pay shall be time and one-half for overtime in excess of eight (8) hours per day, or forty (40) hours per week, otherwise, such additional hours shall be paid at the employee's regular rate. A unit member having an average workday of four (4) hours or more, but less than eight (8) hours per day shall be compensated for any work required to be performed on the sixth and seventh days following the commencement of the normal workweek at a rate of one and one- half times his/her regular rate of pay. A unit member having an average workday of less than four (4) hours per day shall be compensated for any work required to be performed on the seventh day following the commencement of the normal workweek at a rate of one and one-half times his/her regular rate of pay.
O vertime. It is recognized that due t Opioid Treatment Centre, employees may be required to work overtime. An employee who with the express permission of his or her supervisor performs work exceeding 44 hours in a week shall be paid one and one-half times their regular rate of pay for such hours worked.
O vertime. Sergeants qualify for overtime compensation under the following conditions:
A. For regular work schedule employees (or part-time scheduled employees): work in excess of eight (8) hours in a workday or forty (40) hours in a workweek;
B. For alternate work scheduled employees: work in excess of the assigned work shift, or work in excess of forth (40) hours in a work week;
C. All time that the employee is in a pay status, such as sick leave or vacation leave, shall be used for purposes of calculating the workday and workweek.
D. Overtime work must be approved in advance by the Employer and shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the employee’s regular rate. Overtime shall be compensated on a salary basis unless the employee requests compensatory time and the request is in compliance with Article 20.
E. Overtime shall be earned at a minimum of four (4) hours per assignment.
O vertime. Any Part-Time or Reserve employee required to work in excess of one-hundred and six (106) hours per fourteen (14) day pay period shall be paid time and one half for all hours over one-hundred and six (106) in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. All pay shall be based on the nearest quarter hour for computing the number of hours worked.
O vertime. 051 Bargaining unit members who actually work in excess of forty (40) hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of time and one-half for all hours worked or, if requested by the member and authorized by the Superintendent, in compensatory time equal to one and one-half hours of compensatory time for each hour actually worked, up to an accumulation of two hundred forty (240) hours of compensatory hours.
O vertime. Employees in the bargaining unit who actually work in excess of forty (40) hours in any week and for any work actually performed on Saturday in excess of four (4) hours, shall be compensated for those additional hours at one and one-half (1½) times the Employee's regular rate of pay. Double time shall be paid for work performed on Sundays and holidays.
O vertime. Transmission Outage Coordinators (TOC) are exempt positions and overtime is not required under the Fair Labor Standards Act or California Wage and Hour Laws. However, Transmission Outage Coordinators will be eligible for compensation at the straight-time rate of pay for work beyond normal work schedules, subject to the conditions below:
1. Prior authorization from a supervisor, manager, or director within the department to work beyond normal daily work schedule or on a non-workday is required.
2. Employee works at least one (1) hour beyond the normal daily work schedule or works on a non-workday. On normal workdays, only the time beyond the initial one hour beyond the normal work schedule will be compensated. On non-workdays, all time worked will be compensated. The offering of Overtime assignments to TOCs will continue at the discretion of management. However, the Company will first consider TOCs that volunteer for overtime assignments prior to requiring an employee to perform overtime work. In addition, Short Range TOCs will be utilized for overtime assignments involving short range outage coordinating duties, and Long-Range TOCs will be utilized for overtime assignments involving long range outage coordinating duties. However, on a limited and exceptional basis, when properly trained, Long Range Outage Coordinators may be assigned to perform the duties of Short-Range Outage Coordinators, and vice versa.
O vertime. Overtime is defined as time worked in excess of an employee’s regularly scheduled hours of work. When employees are required to work in excess of their regular scheduled hours of work they shall be paid at the rate of one and one half times (1½ X) their regular straight time hourly rate for the first four (4) hours of overtime worked beyond the regular hours of their shift. For overtime hours worked beyond four (4) hours after a regular shift, employees shall be paid two times (2 X) their regular straight time hourly rate of pay. When the needs of the operation require it, employees may be required to work overtime. However, all overtime is voluntary after an employee has worked twelve
