REDUCTION AND RECALL. A. Before the Board makes any necessary reduction in personnel, it will first inform and discuss with the Association the effects of such reduction. This will include, but not be limited to, such problems as the criteria used for the determination of who will be laid off and the re-employment rights of such persons. B. In cases requiring a necessary reduction of the teacher, such reduction will be by seniority as defined in Article XIII and herein after provided. Laid off staff will be given a copy of the complete recall procedure at the time they receive their lay off notice. 1. The Board shall determine, following consultation with the Association, the number of positions to be eliminated and shall so notify the Association. 2. Beginning with the last name on the seniority list, and in ascending order thereafter, the Board shall identify the least senior bargaining unit positions to be eliminated. The affected bargaining unit members shall be laid off. In situations where a teacher scheduled for lay off cannot be replaced by a member of the bargaining unit with similar certification, the teacher shall be retained. 3. The Board shall affect administrative transfers so as to insure the retention of the most senior bargaining unit members. C. No teacher shall be laid off pursuant to necessary reduction in personnel for any school year or portion thereof, unless they have been notified of said lay off at least thirty (30) days before the effective date of said action. D. After the date of lay off, teachers will be recalled to positions consistent with their certification, major/minor(s) and North Central Association criteria according to Article X beginning with the most senior employee. E. No new employees shall be hired for bargaining unit positions while a laid off employee can meet the requirements of the position pursuant to Article X. F. Recall will be by written certified letter, return receipt requested to the employee's last known address on file with the Human Resources Office. G. Persons notified of recall shall accept or reject the recall notice within five (5) days of receipt of the recall notice. H. The laid off employee has full responsibility of notifying the Human Resources Office of any change in name, address and telephone number. I. REDUCTION AND RECALL. Section A: General Paragraph 1: The teaching staff may be reduced by layoff at the discretion of the Board. Paragraph 2: The greatest possible reduction in teaching staff shall be accom- plished through attrition.
REDUCTION AND RECALL. In the event Employees are to be laid off, the following shall be applied: A. The Association President shall be notified of all layoff/recall action in writing. B. Probationary Employees will be laid off before any Employee who has accrued seniority. A probationary Employee will be recalled only after all seniority Employees have been recalled. C. Seniority shall become effective after completion of the probationary period and shall date from the first day of work as a regular Employee. D. Seniority shall prevail in the lay off and rehiring of Employees. E. In reducing the work force, the last Employee hired shall be the first Employee laid off and the last Employee laid off shall be the first Employee rehired. F. All Employees shall receive twenty-one (21) calendar days notice of lay off. G. In the event of a layoff, the Employee so laid off shall be given fourteen (14) calendar days notice of recall to work, by registered mail to his/her last known address. In the event the Employee fails to make himself/herself available for work at the end of said fourteen (14) calendar days, he/she shall be deemed terminated. H. It is understood that an Employee must be able to perform the work available to qualify him/her for recall. I. The Employer agrees to post a list of the Employees in the bargaining unit arranged in order of their seniority. J. An Employee returning from leave/layoff shall have all of his/her previous accumulated leave/seniority restored.

REDUCTION AND RECALL. 16.1 For purposes of layoff and recall, terms of this Article will supersede any other conflicting provisions of this contract. 16.2 The Board shall give no less than sixty (60) calendar days’ notice prior to June 30th to all Members who may be laid-off for the following school year. In the event of the need to lay off Members due to a revenue shortage, the Board shall not lay off Members during the regular year unless the Board is unable to obtain the funds necessary to retain Members for the duration of the school year.

REDUCTION AND RECALL. (a) When reducing work, the junior employee in the affected classification shall be laid off first and additional employees, if required, shall be laid off in reverse seniority. (b) When reducing forces, the junior employee in the affected classification shall be notified at least fourteen (14) days prior to the effective date. (c) The displaced employee may exercise his seniority in another mainte- xxxxx/service classification other than his own and thereby displace that junior employee, provided he has sufficient qualifications, skill and ability to perform the work. Failing this, he is to be laid off. (d) To be eligible for recall, a laid off employee must keep the Company informed of his current address and telephone number. (e) A laid off employee who fails to report for duty after receiving notification by registered letter, or who fails to give satisfactory reasons for not doing so within five (5) calendar days of the date of such notification, shall forfeit his seniority rights and his name shall be removed from the seniority list.
REDUCTION AND RECALL. 1. A minimum of one (1) week notice will be provided of possible lay off and/or reduction in hours. 2. In the event that it is necessary to lay off an ECFE and/or SR teacher, the reduction shall be in reverse seniority with the least senior teacher being reduced first in accordance with their respective seniority list (ECFE or SR). Seniority for purposes related to reduction and recall, for ECFE and/or SR teacher hired prior to January 1, 2024, means date of Board approval with the school district in a position requiring a license. For teachers hired after January 1, 2024, seniority will be defined by the date and time the employee’s contract was signed with the school district in a position requiring a license. 3. Recall to available positions shall be in seniority order and according to licensure, with the most senior teacher being recalled first. 4. In the event that a senior ECFE and/or SR teacher is reduced in hours, they may assume some of the hours from a less senior teacher to compensate for their reduced hours, if available and based on appropriate license. Senior teachers shall have the right of first refusal. 5. In the event of a class reduction or addition after the school year commences a senior teacher may not assume a position that will disrupt current classes already in progress. This schedule will remain in effect until the next appropriate break at which point the senior teacher will regain additional hours, if available. 6. ECFE and/or SR teachers with the appropriate licensure, who have been laid off or reduced in hours, shall have right of first refusal before any new ECFE and/or SR teachers shall be hired.
