Annual Vacation Scheduling. (a) Subject to the operational requirements of the Employer, the accumulated vacation of a Nurse shall be scheduled within each fiscal year (April 1st to March 31st).
(b) Paid vacation time off shall be scheduled by the Employer at a time mutually agreed between the Nurse and the Employer.
(c) Where possible, a Nurse shall have the weekend off prior to the Nurse’s vacation.
(d) The Employer shall make every reasonable effort to ensure that the request for vacation leave of the Nurse is approved.
(e) When submitting a request for vacation leave for quarter 2, the Nurse shall provide the Employer with up to three (3) choices for vacation, listed in order of priority. If the Nurse has not provided three (3) choices for vacation and the Employer is unable to comply with the submitted request, the Nurse’s subsequent request for vacation leave for period 2 will only be considered after other requests are scheduled and posted by June 1st, in accordance with Article 10.06. These requests shall be granted on a first come, first served basis.
(f) Where, the Employer is unable to comply with the request, the immediate management supervisor shall:
i) give the reason for disapproval; and
ii) make every reasonable effort to grant an alternative request by the Nurse in the amount and at the time requested.
(g) Where the Nurse has vacation credits remaining unscheduled by September 1st of each year, the Employer shall indicate to the Nurse by October 1st that a plan is required to dispose of the remaining vacation before the end of the vacation year. If after this notification the Nurse does not submit a request by October 15th to use the remaining vacation, the Employer may schedule the vacation of a Nurse in accordance with the operational needs of the Employer.
(h) The request for vacation may be made for any vacation quarterly period during the year but in any event shall be prior to Dec 1st. Vacation requests may be for any period during the year.
(i) Before the Employer can grant a vacation request in advance of a quarterly period as set out in Article 10.06 (a), the requesting Nurse must demonstrate to the Employer that Nurses with more Seniority on that unit agree with the advance request. If a senior Nurse does not agree with an advance vacation request in accordance with this provision, the senior Nurse must agree to take vacation for the same period covered by the original advance vacation request. This provision does not apply to quarter 2 requests.
Annual Vacation Scheduling. (a) Prior to October 1st of each year, the Company shall post a calendar upon which each employee shall select vacation for the coming vacation year.
(b) The following limits and conditions apply to the scheduling of vacation time:
(i) The scheduling of annual vacation time takes priority over all other forms of scheduled time off.
(ii) Within the Technician, Head End Journeyman and Apprentice classifications combined, three (3) employees may be absent on annual vacation at the same time. Additional vacation requests may be granted at the Company’s discretion.
(iii) Within the Installer classification combined, three (3) employees may be absent on annual vacation at the same time. Additional vacation requests may be granted at the Company’s discretion.
(iv) Within the TFR classification combined, four (4) employees may be absent on annual vacation at the same time. Additional vacation requests may be granted at the Company’s discretion.
(c) Employees shall exercise their seniority rights for their vacation periods before November 15th. After November 15th, any further scheduling of annual vacation time shall be on a first-come, first-served basis, provided that it does not affect the scheduled vacation time of other employees.
(d) Annual vacation shall be taken before December 31st. If employees have not scheduled their vacation by May 31st, the Company shall designate the times at which employees shall take their vacations.
(e) The Company shall approve the vacation calendar no later than December 31st.

Paid vacation time off shall be scheduled by the Employer at a time mutually agreed between the Nurse and the Employer.
Annual Vacation Scheduling. M.6.1 Each facility or work unit will post a vacation request schedule once a year beginning November 1st, for a period of thirty (30) days, for vacation preferred between January 1st and December 31st of the following year. Each employee shall have the opportunity to select, based entirely upon their state seniority, the entire amount or any part of vacation time earned in the current year, prior to the schedule being filled in by the next senior person. To receive priority, vacation leave requests must be for three (3) consecutive work days or more. Vacation leave requests for less than three (3) consecutive work days will be considered, but with no priority. Upon completion of current year scheduling, employees may be allowed to schedule any carry over vacation, on a first come, first served basis.
M.6.2 The facility will prepare and maintain the vacation schedule in a book in the shift supervisor’s office, which shall be made available to the employees to view, at any time, upon request. The results of vacation scheduling for the bargaining unit members will be posted no later than thirty (30) days after December 1st of each year.
M.6.3 Once the schedule has been approved, an employee's vacation period will not be changed by the Agency, except during periods of emergency or by mutual consent of the Agency and employee. Employee initiated actions, such as bidding or promotion, which causes changes in days off and/or shift, may be cause for adjustment in vacation schedule depending upon staffing levels. In such cases, the employee will be permitted to select alternative vacation periods, which will not affect the security of the facility.
M.6.4 State seniority will be the prime consideration in determining choice of vacation time.
M.6.5 The purpose of this section is to guarantee that all hours spent away from work during this time period will be charged against accrued vacation, unless the parties mutually agree to substitute compensatory time for any portion of the time period.
M.6.6 Employees must submit a written request to cancel scheduled vacation, to the immediate supervisor outside the bargaining unit, no later than seven (7) calendar days prior to the start of the vacation to be canceled. To retain any portion of scheduled vacation, the employee must take at least two (2) consecutive work days of scheduled vacation.
Annual Vacation Scheduling. Subject to the operational requirements of the Employer, the accumulated vacation of a Nurse shall be scheduled within each vacation year (April 1st to March 31st). Paid vacation time off shall be scheduled by the Employer at a time mutually agreed between the Nurse and the Employer. Vacation requests for the prime time (June to September) shall be submitted by April 1st of each year. Vacation requests for the March school holiday period shall be submitted by January 1st of each year. Any vacation request submitted after the deadline of April 1st will be filled on a first come first served basis as relief is available.
Annual Vacation Scheduling. During January of each year, and no later than February 1, employees shall be granted an opportunity to request Annual Vacation Picks (AVP) time in order of department seniority. The January selections shall be for the period from February 1 to January 31 of the following year. Each employee in turn will have an initial choice of vacation. Vacation selections can be for as many shifts/hours as the employee desires, not to exceed the total number of vacation leave hours the employee will have accrued by the date of the requested vacation, provided the vacation shift/hours are taken consecutively. Once the most senior employee makes an initial vacation selection, the next most senior employee will make an initial selection of vacation shifts/hours. This process shall continue until all employees have an opportunity to make an initial selection of vacation. After all employees make their initial selections, second-choice vacation selections will occur. Second-choice vacation selections will be done in the same manner as the first-choice selections. After the second-choice vacation selections are completed, the third-choice selections can begin and so on until no one wishes to choose any more vacation time.

b) January 15th; confirmation of receipt of request verbally or in writing.
c) January 30th; of each year, vacation list published.
Annual Vacation Scheduling. Vacations shall be scheduled between January 1 and December 31 each year and shall be posted by May 1st of each year. Vacations will be distributed as equitably as possible among Nurses by the Nurses’ Union and in the event of a dispute the final decision will be the prerogative of management. Vacations can be carried over to another year where mutually agreeable to the Centre and the Nurse. This provision is not applicable to a Casual Nurse (except a Casual Nurse in a Temporary Position).

Subject to operational requirements, the accrued vacation shall be taken in the year in which it becomes owing the Nurse and shall not be carried over from one year to another or taken in advance unless permitted by the Employer due to extenuating circumstances, satisfactory to the Employer. The vacation year is from April 1st of one year to March 31st of the following year. Vacation shall be scheduled by the Employer at a time mutually agreed between the Nurse and the Employer.
(a) The Employer will post a list of Nurses vacation entitlements on or before April 10th of each year.
(b) Requests for summer (July 1st – September 15th) time off must be submitted by April 15th. Employer shall post the schedule for the period of July 1st to September 15th by May 15th of each year. All other vacation requests will be in accordance with Article 7.03, Scheduling and Article 7.04.
