Donation of Leave Days. In the event a bargaining unit member exhausts his/her accumulated leave, he/she or another Association member may request the donation of sick days from all other employees in the District for an occurrence of a long term illness, injury, or disability in excess of yearly allotted or accrued leave. Days will be donated and used according to the following procedures: 1. District employees may donate a leave day after the Human Resources Director approves the request. 2. Donations must be submitted in writing to the Human Resources office. 3. Days donated will be used in the order of receipt by the Human Resources office, using all donations from the same bargaining unit first. 4. The Human Resources office shall notify the donating employee in the event his/her donated day is used. 5. Donated days will be used until such time as the employee reaches LTD eligibility.

Donation of Leave Days. A teacher who has depleted his/ her leave days may request access to the “Leave Assistance Program ” by submitting a Medical Leave Assistance Program Request Form to the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources requesting donations of leave days from other teachers so that the teacher’s income can continue during an extended period of absence of two weeks or more. Donated leave days are intended for the use of the employee only to compensate for days missed due to personal illness. Leave days for family illnesses are available through the Federal Family Medical Leave Act.

If more days than are needed are donated to the receiving classified employee, the unused days shall be returned to the donor classified employee. 5. No classified employee shall be eligible for the Leave Days Assistance Program after he/she qualifies for the supplemental disability program. O. Family and Medical Leave Act 7/07 18-7 LEAVES OF ABSENCES SECTION 18 1. A classified employee who (A) has been employed for at least one (1) year by the Phoenix Union High School District and (B) has at least 1250 hours of service during the previous 12- month period is eligible for family and medical leave as outlined in the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. 2. All classified employees who meet the applicable time of service requirements shall be granted upon request family or medical leave consisting of unpaid leave for a period of twelve (12) weeks (during any 12-month period). The classified employee should consult the District if s/he wishes to substitute any accrued paid leave for any part of the twelve-week period. 3. Leave shall be granted for the following reasons: 4. The birth of a child in order to care for the child. 5. Adoption or xxxxxx placement of a child. The entitlement to leave for birth or placement of a child for adoption or xxxxxx care will expire twelve (12) months from the date of the birth or placement. 6. Donated leave days are intended for the use of the employee to compensate for days missed due to personal illness. Leave days for family illnesses are available through the Federal Family Medical Leave Act. Donated leave days may also be used for family illness/adoption/birth of child as identified through the Federal Family Medical Leave Act. Employees must meet qualifications for FMLA to participate in the donation of leave days program for FMLA reasons.

  • Personal Leave Days Section 1. All employees after completion of six (6) months of service shall be entitled to receive personal leave days in the following manner: (A) All full time employees shall be entitled to twenty-four (24) hours of personal leave with pay each fiscal year; (B) Part-time, seasonal, and job share employees shall be granted such leave in a prorated amount of twenty-four (24) hours based on the same percentage or fraction of month they are hired to work, or as subsequently formally modified, provided it is anticipated that they will work 1,040 hours during the fiscal year; Section 2. Should any employee fail to work 1,040 hours for the fiscal year, the value of personal leave time used may be recovered from the employee. Section 3. Personal leave shall not be cumulative from year to year nor is any unused leave compensable in any other manner. Section 4.
