Hours of Duty and Overtime. Section 1. Hours of duty of employees in the classified police service shall be established so that the average weekly hours of duty in any year other than hours during which members are summoned to or kept on duty shall not exceed 40 hours. Duty hours shall be served by the use of shifts defined as follows: Section 2 (a). Officers may be assigned to a Monday through Friday work schedule for teleserve assignment or position mutually agreed upon by City and Union, at the direction of the Chief of Police.

Hours of Duty and Overtime. (a) Hours of duty of regular shift employees in the classified fire fighting service shall be established so that the average weekly hours of duty in any year other than hours during which members are necessarily summoned to or kept on duty, shall not exceed 52 hours. This shall be accomplished by scheduling a "Xxxxx Xxx" off duty every fourteenth (14th) duty shift. (b) Effective May 1, 2005, hours of duty of regular shift employees in the classified fire fighting service shall be established so that the average weekly hours of duty in any year other than hours during which members are necessarily summoned to or kept on duty, shall not exceed 51.8 hours. This shall be accomplished by scheduling a "Xxxxx Xxx" off duty every thirteenth (13th) duty shift. Duty hours of such employees shall be served by the use of three (3) shifts, each of which shall serve 24 hours on duty and be off 48 hours. A duty day shall be from 6:40 A.M. to 6:40 A.M. the following day. The regular work week of Fire Inspectors, and employees assigned as Fire Inspectors, will not exceed forty (40) hours. The work week for Fire Inspectors, and employees assigned as Fire Inspectors, will be Monday through Friday; provided that, upon not less than fourteen (14) days notice, the Fire Chief or Fire Marshal may change the days worked of such employees. The scheduled work hours for Fire Inspectors will be between 07:00 and 19:00 hours. For any work schedule in excess of 8 hours per day, determination of holidays and portions thereof to be observed with paid time off will be made by the Fire Marshal for each employee, with consideration given to the employee’s preferences. The Fire Marshal and the Fire Chief retain all rights provided to them by law and collective bargaining agreement to set and modify the work schedules of the Fire Inspectors and employees assigned as Fire Inspectors.

Subject to Clause A4.7 in this Schedule, the ordinary hours of duty will be worked within the limits of 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. A4.2 Despite the provisions of Clause A4.1 in this Schedule, the hours of duty for employees other than professional officers may be fixed at no more than 38 per week by the Head of Service. A4.4 An employee will not be required to work for more than five hours without a break for a meal of at least 30 minutes duration A4.5 Any employee may be called for duty at any time required, subject to the prescribed conditions for overtime.
Hours of Duty and Overtime. Other than Shift Workers 23.1 The ordinary hours of duty will be 36-3/4 per week, within the limits of 7.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. Monday to Friday and 7.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. on Saturday as may be determined by the CEO on the authority of the Commissioner. 23.2 Any Employee will be liable to be called for duty any time that he/she is required, subject to payment for overtime under the conditions set out in this clause. 23.3 In the case of an Employee whose ordinary hours of duty are confined to five days of the week in accordance with sub-clause 6.3 of Schedule 1, overtime will be payable: (a) for duty performed before 7.30 a.m. and/or after 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday; (b) for duty performed between 7.30 a.m. and the normal commencing time on any day, Monday to Friday where the Employee performs duty prior to 7.30 a.m., and also completes a normal day’s duty, on that day; (c) for duty performed between 7.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. after the completion by the Employee of a normal day’s duty on any day, Monday to Friday where the Employee performs duty after 5.30 p.m. on that day; (d) for duty (other than duty specified in paragraphs (b)and (c)) performed in excess of 38 hours per week within the limits of 7.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. Monday to Friday; and (e) for duty on Saturday other than duty performed in accordance with sub-clause 6.6 of Schedule 1. 23.4 In the case of an Employee whose ordinary hours of duty are performed on six days of the week overtime will be payable: (a) for duty performed before 7.30 a.m. and/or after 5.30 p.m. Monday to Friday, and/or before 7.30 a.m. and/or after 12.30 p.m. on Saturday; (b) for duty performed between 7.30 a.m. and the normal commencing time on any day, Monday to Friday where the Employee performs duty prior to 7.30 a.m. and also completes a normal day’s duty on that day; (c) for duty performed between 7.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. after the completion by the Employee of a normal day’s duty on any day, Monday to Friday, where the Employee performs duty after 5.30 p.m. on that day; (d) for duty performed between 7.30 a.m. and the normal commencing time on Saturday where the Employee performs duty prior to 7.30 a.m. and also completes a normal day’s duty on that day; (e) for duty performed between 7.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. after the completion by the Employee of a normal day’s duty on Saturday where the Employee performs duty after 5.30 p.m. on that day; and (f) for duty (other than duty specified in paragraphs (b) to (e)) performed i...

Hours of Duty and Overtime. 1. Work Schedules Work schedules for 56-hour shift personnel, covered by this agreement shall be as follows. A. For the period of October 1, 2014 through January 20, 2015 the existing “modified Detroit” scheduled shall be followed. B. Effective January 21, 2015 and continuing through term of this agreement (except for as noted in Section G below) the “forty-eight/ninety-six (48/96) hour work schedule shall be used, which consists of the following recognized shifts (Green (G), Red (R), Blue (B) Example: GGRRBBGGRRBB). Each employee will work two consecutive twenty-four (24) hour work periods or two (2) “shifts” for a total of forty-eight (48) hours or one (1) “set”, followed by ninety-six (96) hours off duty: 24 hours on duty 24 hours on duty 96 hours off duty C. This schedule equates to one hundred ninety-two (192) hours of work in a twenty-four (24) day cycle; which in turn averages fifty-six (56) hours in a seven (7) day work week. All hours worked outside of the normal work schedule shall be considered unscheduled overtime hours.

HOURS OF DUTY‌‌‌‌‌ Standard hours‌ 29.1 The standard hours of duty will be 7 hours and 30 minutes per day and 37 hours and 30 minutes per week for full-time employees, or the agreed hours of duty for part-time employees. 29.2 For leave recording purposes, the standard hours for full-time employees are 8.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 5.00pm. 29.3 The span of hours during which an employee’s standard hours of duty may be worked is 7.30am to 7.30pm Monday to Friday. 29.4 An employee may request to work outside the span of hours, e.g. on a Saturday, to cater for particular circumstances. Approval will be subject to operational requirements and the agreement of the section head. Any hours worked on this basis will be recorded and taken as time off in lieu (TOIL) at single time, and will not attract overtime rates (this does not apply to employees at Parliamentary Executive Level 2 - see clause 32 for arrangements applying to those employees). 29.5 As a general principle, a section head should ensure that his or her work area is available for client service between 8.30am and 5.00pm. 29.6 An employee’s working pattern will be determined by the section head, in consultation with the employee, after considering operational requirements, work health and safety matters, the employee’s personal needs and the impact on other employees in the work area. 29.7 Employees should not be required to work more than five consecutive hours without a meal break of at least 30 minutes. 29.8 As a general principle, employees should advise their supervisor of any unplanned absence by 9.30am on the day of absence. 29.9 Where an employee is absent from duty without approval, all pay and other benefits provided under this Agreement will cease until he or she resumes duty or is granted leave.
