JOB POSTINGS & TRANSFERS. 13.01 (a) When a vacancy occurs within the bargaining unit, other than a temporary vacancy as set out in Article 5.15, or a new position is established by the Board, the initial position shall be posted internally for a period of five consecutive working days. Such subsequent posting shall be posted for two consecutive days. The posting shall be open to permanent and probationary members of the bargaining unit, subject to Article 13.04.

JOB POSTINGS & TRANSFERS. 12.01 The Employer shall post, for a minimum of seven (7) workdays in a conspicuous place at all locations, notice of all vacant positions in any of the locations covered by this Agreement. Any employee of the Employer may apply for such new or vacant positions. Seniority, qualifications, skill, ability, and disciplinary record which reflected on work attitude, shall be considered in the awarding of all vacancies and new positions.
12.02 a) Should an employee move to a new department, they shall be a junior employee in that department. However, their seniority in the previous department shall be maintained for a period of three (3) months. During that time, should either the Employer or the employee wish to return the employee to their original position, or should a reduction in work reduce the employee’s hours within the three (3) month period, the employee may then bump back into their former classification in order to avoid a lay-off.

JOB POSTINGS & TRANSFERS. Openings on the bottom of Unit Promotion schedules shall be posted in the Plant. Depending on the anticipated need, the postings may be for all units. Employees can apply in writing stating their preferences of Unit, to the Personnel Office or the First Aid Office within six calendar days of the posting date. The employee with the most Plant Seniority who has applied for a transfer will be given the first opportunity. An employee transferring to another Unit will enter that Unit at the bottom step of the Unit Promotion Schedule. The employee transferring to another Unit will adopt the highest overtime hours in the new classification. The name of the successful candidate will be posted. No more than one transferee per week per unit will be allowed. In the case of the Primary Glass Forming Unit, no more than one employee per calendar month will be allowed to transfer from this Unit. Once beginning work in the new Unit, the transferee will lose seniority in the previous Unit unless disqualified within thirty calendar days or sixty calendar days when transferring to Maintenance. If disqualified, he will return to his previous Unit without loss of seniority in his previous Unit. Before going on vacation, an employee must file an application with the Personnel Office, in order that it will be considered should a job become vacant in the Unit of his choice while he is on vacation. Until the job is permanently filled, temporary promotions by shift will be carried out. When an employee transfers to a new Unit, he cannot transfer out of that Unit until thirty calendar days have elapsed and he would only be allowed four transfers within any twelve month period. An employee when transferring out of a Unit, cannot return to the same Unit within four months of date of transfer unless disqualified, or a significant job change occurs in the Unit.

JOB POSTINGS & TRANSFERS. 14.01 No transfers to a position outside the bargaining unit shall be made without the employee’s agreement.

No employee subject to the above may return to the bargaining unit once the twelve (12) month period has expired, other than as a new employee.
14.04 A maximum trial period of sixty (60) days shall apply to any promotion or transfer to a position outside of the bargaining unit. After the expiration of the sixty (60) day trial period the promotion or transfer becomes permanent.
14.05 An employee, upon promotion or transfer, who fails to meet the requirements of the position outside the bargaining unit during the trial period shall return to their former position and shall not lose their seniority in their former classification.
14.06 Employees transferred or promoted outside the bargaining unit shall have the right to request their return, in writing, to their bargaining unit classification at any time during the trial period. Such return shall not displace an employee holding greater seniority.
14.07 Temporary transfers or promotions shall not cause any loss of seniority or other bargaining unit rights. Temporary assignments shall be for a period of four (4) weeks or less. Such temporary assignments need not be posted. All temporary assignments greater than four (4) weeks shall be posted.
14.08 The employer shall post all permanent job vacancies that are expected to be for a period of longer than four (4) weeks. The vacancy will be posted for seven (7) calendar days and all employees with seniority shall have the right to apply for such job vacancies. Applicants must apply in writing during this time period. The posting will include: - classification and duties - starting date of position - qualifications required - part-time or full-time - shift to be worked and the approximate number of shifts per pay period - wage rate
14.09 When filing a job vacancy, the employer will consider:
