Salary Package. (a) As the Centre has Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) status and is therefore exempt from Fringe Benefit Tax, the Centre offers its employees the option of “salary packaging”. This means payment by the Centre of an amount of money to a nominated third person or party. (b) The salary package increases the overall financial benefit the employee receives from the Centre by reducing annual gross income, and thus tax liability, and redirecting the deducted gross income, towards payment of an employee’s bill or reducing an employee’s debt or liability. (c) Without being limiting, examples of payments the Centre can make under this arrangement include the repayment of a personal or home loan, electricity, other utility or credit card bills or rent. The payment must not be made to the employee personally or to a dependent. (d) An employee who has chosen to take up the option of a salary package may choose at any time, on one month’s notice, to discontinue. (e) The salary package is available to all permanent employees, and to fixed term employees. (f) The terms and conditions of the salary packaging will be set out in a letter of offer from the Centre to each eligible employee and is to be signed by both parties. (g) The amount of gross salary to be subject to the wage package arrangements will be set by the Centre in consultation with employees.

Provided that the terms and conditions of the salary package will, on balance, result in the employee being better off overall than the employee would otherwise be under the terms and conditions of this Agreement. 21.1.5 The employee will be advised of their right to representation in negotiating the package. Any agreement will be in writing.
Salary Package. 1. An employee will advance to the next step in the employee’s salary range annually, subject to the following provisions: a. Step advancement may be withheld from an employee due to the employee’s poor performance as documented within the preceding twelve (12) months with a Plan of Assistance or written reprimand. b. Step advancement will occur on July 1 of each year for those employees that are eligible. c. Step advancement for employees hired after April 1 will be on July 1 following their first anniversary date of employment, subject to paragraph A.1.b above. d. There will be a two point five percent (2.5%) between each step advancement. 2. Updated salary schedules for full-time employees working a typical year of 257 days shall be appended to this agreement. The following provisions apply: a. For the 2016-17 fiscal year, the salary schedule will be increased by one-half percent (.5%). b. For the 2017-18 fiscal year, the salary schedule will be increased by one percent (1%) plus the Consumer Price Index-U for Portland-Vancouver OR-WA, published each February, but shall not be less than zero percent (0%) nor greater than two percent (2%). c. For the 2018-19 fiscal year, the salary schedule will be increased by one percent (1%) plus the Consumer Price Index-U for Portland-Vancouver OR-WA, published each February, but shall not be less than zero percent (0%) nor greater than two percent (2%). 3. Starting July 1, 2016, the current salary schedule will be amended by removing the current ranges one (1) through fifteen (15). The salary schedule will now begin with range 16. The employee’s current salary range will remain the same. 4. Starting July 1, 2016, the salary schedule will be modified to include a Step L. 5. After contract ratification, the parties agree to discuss and mutually agree upon the parameters to conduct a salary survey. This discussion will occur in the Contract Maintenance Committee (CMC) no later than March 3, 2017. The salary survey will begin no later than December 1, 2017. The salary survey will be completed no later than December 3, 2018, and all information from the survey will be shared with the members of CMC and the Association President. 6. By May 15th of each year, the College will recalculate the July 1 salary schedule. The recalculated schedule will be emailed to all Classified Association members, posted to the HR website and attached to this agreement as an appendix. 7. Salary Package. (a) The Employer will: (i) pay Highforce the sum of $80,000 per annum, inclusive of Superannuation, for the provision of the Employee’s services; (ii) pay the sums referred to in paragraphs 4(a)(i) by equal fortnightly installments by electronic funds transfer into an account nominated by the Employee; (iii) reimburse home telephone and internet costs associated with business use. The amount of COLA for fiscal year 2016-2017 will be increased by the Consumer Price Index-U for Portland-Vancouver OR-WA, published February, but shall be neither less than zero percent (0%) nor greater than one percent (1.0%). Human Resources will publish the 2016-2017 salary schedule by March 30, 2016. The amount of COLA for fiscal year 2017-2018 will be increased by the Consumer Price Index-U for Portland-Vancouver OR-WA, published February, but shall be neither less than zero percent (0%) nor greater than three percent (3.0%). Human Resources will publish the 2017-2018 salary schedule by March 30, 2017. The amount of COLA for fiscal year 2018-2019 will be increased by two percent (2%). During the term of this agreement, cost of living adjustments will occur at the start of a faculty member’s service calendar. Faculty shall move to the next step of the Salary Schedule effective the first term of their employment in the fiscal year.

Salary Package. In addition to the employee’s current salary for the classification level (as described within the Queensland Local Government Officers’ Award (LGOA) the employee will paid an allowance as delineated in this Appendix for performing certain “call-out” work and for being available to undertake such work. The additional salary allowance also includes payment for allowances otherwise payable under the LGOA and/or Part 1 of this Agreement, and are indicated below The additional allowance will be paid as an annualised payment. The quantum of the annualised on- call/call-out allowance is calculated for each respective work area and is based on:  The weekly amount otherwise payable as an Availability or On-call Allowance under the Queensland Local Government Officers’ Award or Part 1 of this Agreement;  the estimated number of call outs per annum (refer to clause 7 of this Appendix); and  the number of Supervisors/Officers included in the on-call roster cycle. In the event that the roster cycle changes the allowance will be adjusted as per the salary spreadsheet at Attachment 1; and  Incident management and support. The annualised allowance includes the on-call allowance and recognises each call-out as being for a three-hour call-out period, on average, paid at double time.
Salary Package. The salary package will be as per table 1, which will be averaged out weekly over the year.
