School Specialty’s Continued Commitment to Sustainability and Engaging Employees, Students, and Customers on Their Green Journey. School Specialty, LLC has achieved Platinum status with the Green Business Bureau. The company joined the GBB in 2019 and has leveraged the platform and apps to manage their sustainability initiatives and track their progress. School Specialty, LLC completed enough initiatives to reach 400 EcoPoints™ to earn the GBB Platinum Seal. The company is committed to protecting the environment, engaging employees and customers in their sustainability efforts, and saving money through more efficient operations. They continue to utilize the GBB framework and online tools to become greener and meet their sustainability goals. School Specialty was looking for an opportunity to take small steps towards becoming a more environmentally friendly organization for both customers and employees. As a distributor of highly consumable products, it was important for them to look internally at what they could, and should, be doing to reduce their large footprint. Federal Contracts Xxxx agrees to do business in an ethical and responsible manner concerning sustainable initiatives. Federal Contracts Corp is offering JLG products on this contract and JLG is owned by Oshkosh Corp. Xxxxxxx has made deep investments in sustainability. Oshkosh Corporation and JLG has volunteered to be part of the Department of Energy (DOE) Better Plants Program beginning in FY14. Energy reduction goal of 25% was surpassed with a FY21 year end result of 30.2% reduction. The greenhouse gas reduction goal of 25% was surpassed with a FY21 year-end achievement of 37.2% reduction. There have been multiple capital improvement projects to upgrade facilities, processes, photovoltaic solar systems, lighting, compressors, paint systems, etc. These investments have greatly reduced greenhouse gas, volatile organic compounds, and Hazardous Air Pollutants. The government is giving prioritization to electrification in transportation, Ver-Mac’s main source of income, and industry. Ver-Mac is working to meet the call of this 2023-2028 implementation plan for the Quebec 2030 plan for a Green Economy. Ver-Mac meets all current requirements and is working toward the future to help the Quebec province reach its goal of reducing Green House Gases by 37.5% below 1990 levels by 2030.
