We try to recycle all fluids to be used in other items in the factory if possible so the minimal amount have to be disposed of. Also we have reduce fluid capacities on multiple pieces of our equipment for better efficiency and much less waste during routine maintenance.

In partnership with our suppliers, we are increasing the number of energy-efficient products in our rental fleet through Tier 4 Compliant purchases of applicant equipment, LED-light equipped and solar- powered, battery-powered, electric-powered, and hybrid equipment, and transitioning our fleet of rental and internal-use half-ton pick-up trucks to be equipped with four-cylinder engines. In addition, Herc’s green initiatives include: • Handle, store, and dispose of substances that are defined as hazardous material in compliance with local, state, and federal regulation; • Reduce, reuse, and recycle our waste products as much as possible; • Minimize water consumption and ensure safe water treatment within our branches by incorporating innovative design of wastewater treatment systems; • Minimize energy consumption by employing energy reducing initiatives; • Conduct regular training for staff working in and around petroleum storage tanks to inform on hazardous materials stored onsite, as well as regular inspections of storage tanks, dispensers, and critical safety devices; • When required by local, state, and federal regulations, develop, and maintain appropriate emergency and spill response programs; • Whenever possible, purchase products and services that do the least damage to the environment and communicating this commitment to our vendors; • Monitor the environmental impact of our business practices and review our progress on a continual basis; and • Promote environmental stewardship and best management practices to our customers that utilize rental equipment

School Specialty’s Continued Commitment to Sustainability and Engaging Employees, Students, and Customers on Their Green Journey. School Specialty, LLC has achieved Platinum status with the Green Business Bureau. The company joined the GBB in 2019 and has leveraged the platform and apps to manage their sustainability initiatives and track their progress. School Specialty, LLC completed enough initiatives to reach 400 EcoPoints™ to earn the GBB Platinum Seal. The company is committed to protecting the environment, engaging employees and customers in their sustainability efforts, and saving money through more efficient operations. They continue to utilize the GBB framework and online tools to become greener and meet their sustainability goals. School Specialty was looking for an opportunity to take small steps towards becoming a more environmentally friendly organization for both customers and employees. As a distributor of highly consumable products, it was important for them to look internally at what they could, and should, be doing to reduce their large footprint. Some of the activities which helped School Specialty achieve Platinum status toward green certification was the creation Green Teams throughout the company which served as the initial supporters of greening the business, enlisting and informing all employees of key activities, assessing where the organization was at in terms of green efforts and creating programs where employees can engage in green activities. Low Effort, High Impact Green Initiatives Like many organizations, School Specialty and their Project Green Teams initially focused on low-hanging fruit when the program first started. Fellowes, a family-owned company providing trusted workplace solutions for 106 years, is proud to announce that nearly 70 of its contract interiors workspace products have been certified as achieving BIFMA LEVEL 2, the trusted furniture sustainability certification program created to provide a comprehensive and transparent means to confidently source responsibly manufactured products. SCS Global Services, a leading third-party sustainability certifier, evaluated the Fellowes contract interior products to measure them against multiple criteria defined in the ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard. Included among the 70 products is Rising™ monitor arms, which launched on the market in late February by redefining the monitor arm as a piece of functional beauty that enhances any workspace, all while adhering to the sustainability standards required to achieve LEVEL 2 certification. “Sustainability is a core strategy with Fellowes. Federal Contracts Xxxx agrees to do business in an ethical and responsible manner concerning sustainable initiatives. Federal Contracts Corp is offering JLG products on this contract and JLG is owned by Oshkosh Corp. Xxxxxxx has made deep investments in sustainability. Oshkosh Corporation and JLG has volunteered to be part of the Department of Energy (DOE) Better Plants Program beginning in FY14. Energy reduction goal of 25% was surpassed with a FY21 year end result of 30.2% reduction. The greenhouse gas reduction goal of 25% was surpassed with a FY21 year-end achievement of 37.2% reduction. There have been multiple capital improvement projects to upgrade facilities, processes, photovoltaic solar systems, lighting, compressors, paint systems, etc. These investments have greatly reduced greenhouse gas, volatile organic compounds, and Hazardous Air Pollutants. These are just some of the notables for JLG/Xxxxxxx’s global commitment to sustainability. A full sustainability report has been included in the documents submitted in this proposal.

Ver- Mac, as a Quebec, Canada based business, is subject to many sustainable initiatives. The Quebec provincial government is in the process of implementing a 2030 plan for a green economy. This plan is the first Canadian electrification and climate change policy framework. The government is giving prioritization to electrification in transportation, Ver-Mac’s main source of income, and industry. Ver-Mac is working to meet the call of this 2023-2028 implementation plan for the Quebec 2030 plan for a Green Economy. Ver-Mac meets all current requirements and is working toward the future to help the Quebec province reach its goal of reducing Green House Gases by 37.5% below 1990 levels by 2030. Additionally, to help the province achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
