TIME OFF FOR TRAINING. 6.1 School trade union representatives have the right to reasonable additional paid time off for training that is relevant to their union duties and is approved by their union. 6.2 The amount and frequency should be reasonable and will be subject to similar considerations as in 5.3 above. 6.3 A representative who requests paid time off to undergo relevant training should give their headteacher or manager four weeks’ notice, wherever possible, providing details of the course and a copy of the course syllabus, if requested. 6.4 Part-timers should be paid for all hours of any authorised union day release courses they attend in respect of which corresponding whole time workers would get paid release, not just for their normal part time hours. 6.5 Shift workers attending authorised union courses outside of their normal hours should be paid accordingly and granted the appropriate time off their shift.
TIME OFF FOR TRAINING. The entitlement to time off for training laid down in the collective agreements has been extended to allow time for self-selected training relevant to employment within the scope of the Shop Workers’ Collective Agreement. A condition of entitlement to time off for training that the company does not consider relevant to the company is that the employee can obtain a grant for this training according to the rules for skills development support set out below. Employees with a minimum of nine months’ service shall be given an annual entitlement to two weeks’ time off for self-selected training relevant to their employment within the scope of the collective agreement. This time off may be used, for example, for training at both basic and advanced levels, for both general and vocational continuing training and to take part in an assessment of prior learning in the public sector and relevant private-sector schemes. Employees who enrol on a vocational training programme leading to a technical qualification within the retail sector, cf. section 7(1), point e of the collective agreement, may apply to xxx.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xx for assistance with course fees, transport, any course materials and reimbursement for lost earnings for the completion of the planned training for up to five weeks a year in the period in which vocational training is undertaken by agreement with the company. It is a condition of support from the skills development fund that the employee should also apply for an adult education (VEU) grant or for state educational support for adults. Workers employed in companies that administer their own skills development fund resources – and only in connection with an agreement on vocational training that leads to a vocational qualification – may also apply to the skills development fund for support. It is agreed that the above is a pilot scheme applicable only in the period of the collective agreement. The pilot scheme will therefore lapse on 29 February 2020.
TIME OFF FOR TRAINING. 8.1 The employer will allow reasonable time off with pay, during working hours for Union representatives to undergo training in connection with their duties, which have been agreed in advance. 8.2 All requests for time off for training must be properly requested by consultation with the respective Headteacher at least one month before the commencement of the course giving details of the course title, content, purpose, venue, dates and duration and explain the relevance to the duties of the Union representative(s) concerned. If requested by the Headteacher, a copy of the course syllabus or prospectus will be provided. Permission will not be unduly withheld. 8.3 All documentation, arrangements, travelling expenses and subsistence costs for trade union organised courses are the responsibility of the recognised Union. Travelling and subsistence expenses will be paid by the employer for jointly organised courses. 8.4 Approved training counts as work under the Working Time Regulations and continuing professional development. 8.5 Time off, with pay, will normally be approved for: 8.5.1 TUC approved and recognised Union courses. 8.5.2 Initial induction / basic training. 8.5.3 Employee relations matters of joint concern to the Trade Unions and management. 8.5.4 Additional training for those with additional Trade Union responsibilities. 8.5.5 Training jointly arranged with the employer. 9 Safety Representatives 9.1 Managers are expected to consult with the appropriate Safety Representative(s) in good time to enable them to express of their views and to take account of any response with regard to: 9.1.1 The introduction of any measure at the workplace (e.g. changes in working methods, procedures, etc.) which may substantially affect the health and safety at work of the employees they represent 9.1.2 Any health and safety information that is required to be provided to employees by or under relevant statutory provisions (e.g. technical nature about hazards to health and safety and the precautions necessary to eliminate or minimise those hazards). 9.1.3 The planning and organisation of any health and safety training required to be provided to employees by or under relevant statutory provisions 9.1.4 The health and safety consequences for the employees of the introduction of new technologies into the workplace 9.1.5 Information relating to the occurrence of any notifiable accident or dangerous occurrence in the workplace or a notifiable disease that has been contracted a...
TIME OFF FOR TRAINING. 4.1 The University recognises that stewards/representatives will carry out their duties more effectively if they possess skills and knowledge relevant to their duties. In particular, it is recognised that basic training for newly appointed stewards/representatives should take place as soon as practicable after their appointment. 4.2 Stewards/representatives shall be granted reasonable time off with pay to undertake training in industrial/employee relations matters which enable them to carry out their trade union duties. 4.3 To qualify for paid time off, courses shall: 4.3.1 be relevant to matters for which the Trade Union is recognised and 4.3.2 be approved by the TUC or by GMB 4.4 To ensure that training is properly planned and arrangements can be made for the necessary time off, a programme of training will where practical be agreed in advance and paid time off granted. 4.5 The number of representatives/stewards receiving training at any one time, and the amount and frequency of training for any individual representative/xxxxxxx should be that which is reasonable in the circumstances, and will take into account both the operational requirements of the University and the availability of relevant courses.
TIME OFF FOR TRAINING. ‌ With the prior consent of the Food Services Director, union members of Health and Safety Committees shall be entitled to time off from work with no loss of seniority or earnings to attend educational courses and seminars sponsored by government agencies or the employer for instruction and upgrading on health and safety matters.
TIME OFF FOR TRAINING. 3.1 All branch officers and workplace representatives of the union are allowed time off to attend training in union roles, skills etc, in line with the ACAS Code of Practice. No limit is set for this training, but it is understood that requests for time off for training will be made in advance and each request will be considered on its merits. Factors which will be taken into account by management when considering the request will include the amount of time off already granted for training purposes within the previous 12 months. All such training will be provided or accredited by the appropriate trade union or by the Trade Union Congress. 3.2 Agreement will also be given to branch officers to attend the annual conference of their trade union, on the basis of a maximum of 6 days in total, with 1 representative normally attending for the whole conference and1 other representative attending for 1 day only. Where representatives request attendance at other external events, management will, wherever possible, look favourably on such requests.

TIME OFF FOR TRAINING. During years when not taking part in any other training, employees with more than 2 years in the Group’s employ have agreed with the Group the right to time off without pay for training for up to 10 working days. When planning the time off, due consideration must be given to the Group’s activities. Seniority accrues for time off earned under this provision. (1) Time spent on training, which the employee is required to complete as part of their competence de- velopment or in order to be able to perform their daily work, is considered working hours. (2) Employees may choose to complete the training programmes on their home PCs according to the following guidelines: – To the extent possible, training carried out on home PCs should take place during working hours. Where this is not possible, the training time must be remunerated by the general hourly rate. – Home PC training outside normal working hours is voluntary for each employee and may only take place at the employee’s request. (3) In each individual case, the manager and the employee agree on the number of hours to be spent on the programme by the employee. The hours agreed are considered to be working hours. (4) The rule on intervening hours (article 16(3)) does not apply.

TIME OFF FOR TRAINING. 1. Members of Local 1616 shall be granted forty (40) hours per contract year of time off while on duty in order to attend any and all training that is offered by the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services (or its equivalent in another jurisdiction). Upon completion of any such training, Members shall be required to submit a certificate or other proof of completion of the training in the event that the training at issue does not provide a certificate. 2. Members shall be required to provide the Department with twenty- four (24) hours of notification in order to exercise their right to time off under this Section. 3. There shall be no limitation on the number of Members who may exercise their right to attend training under this Section and such attendance shall not count toward the Department’s manpower. 4. This Section of the Contract shall be separate and apart from Emergency Medical Services training (i.e. and all training with EMS points attached) which is covered by Article XVI, Section J of the Contract.
