Posting and Filling of Vacancies. 8.1(1) When a permanent vacancy occurs within a classification covered by this agreement, which the Employer intends to fill, after the Employer applies the internal job transfer bidding procedure and the ultimate vacancy is thereby identified, such vacancy shall be advertised for ten (10) calendar days provided that nothing herein shall prevent the Employer from advertising such vacancy throughout its system or outside during the ten (10) day period. Probationary employees may, at the sole discretion of the Employer, be considered for another position outside their classification after the signing date of this agreement. The Company reserves the sole and absolute right to carry out any applicable interviewing or testing that is necessary in its opinion. All test processes will be approved by qualified Human Resources staff. An employee will only be allowed to take one test failure for each different job classification bid every four (4) months. Current employees applying for positions which involve increased driving responsibilities must meet corporate driving standards and provide with application a current driving abstract. The opinion of the Employer shall not be exercised in an arbitrary or discriminatory manner. 8.1(2) Internal Job Transfer Bidding Procedure 8.1(3) This internal job transfer bidding procedure is within a given classification as follows: 8.1(4) All employees within each classification, when requested, must submit a “standing application” to transfer to any existing alternate home base or location, shift, shift hours, days off (in order of preference), to transfer from part-time to full-time status, or to indicate that they wish no change, whichever is applicable to each individual within their current classification. 8.1(5) A copy of such standing application submitted will be furnished to the employee. Since a standing application will remain valid indefinitely until it results in action or is replaced by the employee, it is the responsibility of the employee to ensure that a standing application always reflects the employee’s current preferences. 8.1(6) (i) When a permanent classification position vacancy is to be filled, all standing applications will immediately be reviewed with the intention of awarding transfers (including any “resultant” transfers) in order of classification seniority in the following sequence, where applicable: (a) transfer of a full-time employee from one home base or location to another or as referred to abo...

Posting and Filling of Vacancies. 12.1 The Employer shall, in its sole discretion, determine if and when a vacancy exists. The Employer shall likewise, in its sole discretion, determine if and when to post and/or fill a vacancy which it deems to exist. 12.2 Where the Employer determines that a vacancy exists that it wishes to fill, the Employer shall post the vacancy on the Union bulletin board. 12.3 Any postings shall clearly indicate the deadline date for application and the location or person to whom applications are to be made. The posting period shall be for not less than five (5) days from the date of posting. 12.4 The Employer shall be permitted to post vacancies both internally and externally simultaneously. However, preference shall be given to internal candidates where all factors referenced in Article 12.05 below are relatively equal as between internal and external applicants. 12.5 When filling posted vacancies, the Employer shall consider the following factors: skills, experience, abilities, qualifications, and educational background. When the aforementioned factors are relatively equal, the Employer shall consider applicants’ seniority. 12.6 In the event the Employer cancels a posting or decides that there are no suitable applicants for the vacancy, it shall post a notice to this effect to advise Employees. 12.7 If the successful applicant is an existing member of the bargaining unit, he/she shall be placed on ninety (90) day trial period upon starting the new position. During this period, the employee may elect to return to his/her former position. In the event the Employer determines, within the trial period that the employee is unable to adequately perform the normal duties of the position, the employee will be returned to his/her former position.

During periods when the majority of bargaining unit members are not on duty, specifically during periods in excess of two weeks or breaks in excess of two weeks, the Agency will ensure that vacancy notices are sent in a timely manner to each bargaining unit member who has identified himself/herself in writing to Human Resources as desiring to receive vacancy notices. The bargaining unit member may request the vacancy notices be sent 1) via the U.S. Postal Service to the home address of the member or 2) by e-mail to the e-mail address provided in the written request to Human Resources.

Posting and Filling of Vacancies. 13.01 When a vacancy occurs or a new position is created inside the bargaining unit the Employer shall notify the Unit Xxxxxxx in writing and post notice of the position via the University website and in paper form on a bulletin board mutually designated for this purpose. 13.02 The posting shall clearly indicate the, date of closing of competition and the location or person to whom applications shall be made. All vacancies of positions within the bargaining unit will be posted simultaneously in the cost center and on the Hospital’s website for seven (7) consecutive days and filled in the following order: 1. Bargaining unit RNs within the cost center will have priority for selection from qualified candidates in the following order: a. Most senior full-time/part-time/per diem bargaining unit RN. b. Most senior relief bargaining unit RN. c. Occasional bargaining unit RN. 2. If no qualified RN in the cost center applies, any qualified RN in the Hospital will be considered. If no qualified applicants apply and a vacancy must be filled with an RN who will be trained to meet minimum qualifications, bargaining unit RNs will be given preference in filling such position, in accordance with priority list. 5. If an RN is not selected for a vacancy, she/he will be informed of the decision and the basis for the decision, if she/he requests. B. Postings will include: 1. Required qualifications (based solely on observable, quantifiable and measurable performance skills). 2. Date of vacancy posting. 3. Deadline for application filing/end of posting. C. From the time a vacancy develops until the time it is filled, the Hospital may temporarily use bargaining unit RNs as necessary to cover the vacant position. D. Bargaining unit vacancies will be posted on the cost center of origin as well as on the Hospital’s website. PRN will receive an updated listing of all vacancies on a weekly basis. E. Once a position has been posted, the qualifications and other posting parameters will be frozen until the position has been filled. If no qualified applicants apply, the position may be re-posted with different qualifications. F.
