Meals and Rest Breaks. Appendix “C” shall not apply on underground projects.
1. On underground projects meals shall be eaten on the Employer's time, and meal breaks shall be scheduled at the end of the first half shift.
2. It shall not be considered a violation of the U/G Addendum for employees to drink tea or coffee no more than twice in a working shift at such employee's own station. The Employer shall supply sufficient tea, coffee, cream, and sugar at the meal break to allow an employee to fill his thermos at the meal break, as well as receive meal period coffee.
3. Where camps are maintained on tunnels, shafts, and raise work, the Employer shall supply hot soup at the meal break.
Meals and Rest Breaks. All meal and rest periods are to be in compliance with California Industrial Welfare Commission Order #16.
a) Individual Employer shall authorize and permit all employees to take one ten (10) minute rest break for every four (4) hours, or major fraction thereof, worked. The rest period shall be, insofar as practicable, in the middle of each four (4) hour work period but, may be scheduled to coincide with breaks in the flow of work as permitted by Wage Order 16. If the Individual Employer fails to provide an employee a rest period in accordance with this Section, the Individual Employer shall compensate the employee one (1) hour of wages at the employee’s regular rate of compensation, excluding fringe benefits, for each workday that the rest period was not provided. Authorized rest period time shall be counted as hours worked for which there shall be no deductions from wages. Rest periods shall take place at areas designated by the Individual Employer, which may include or be
b) Employees shall take a 30-minute unpaid off-duty meal period starting before the end of the 5th hour of work. Employees shall be entitled to a second 30- minute unpaid off-duty meal period before working more than 10 hours, although the second meal period may be waived if the total time worked does not exceed 12 hours and the first meal period was taken. Employees shall be allowed a five (5) minute personal clean-up period prior to the meal period. Employees are free to leave the premises during the meal period.
Meals and Rest Breaks. On any day in which you are scheduled for more than 5 hours of work you will also be scheduled for a meal period. You are expected to begin this meal period as near as possible to its scheduled time, and required to take no less than 30 minutes for the period. On days in which you are scheduled for no more than 6 hours of work you may voluntarily agree to waive your meal period. Meal periods do not count as worked time, and are not compensated. You also will be authorized and permitted to take ten-minute paid rest breaks for every four hours worked or major fraction thereof (over two hours). Typically, in an 8-hour day, this will mean taking one break in the morning and another in the afternoon. These rest breaks will be scheduled breaks, and you should take them as near as possible to their scheduled time. Rest breaks count as compensable time. Time spent on breaks in excess of twenty minutes per day (or ten minutes per day for shifts under six hours) is not compensated. It is your responsibility to accurately log your rest breaks and meal periods according to instructions you will receive during training.
Meals and Rest Breaks. MPI will provide employees with a reasonable opportunity, during the employee’s work period, for rest, refreshment, and attention to personal matters. The breaks are all uninterrupted. NB: For the purpose of this clause/table alone “work period” includes all paid and unpaid breaks as specified above. An employee is generally expected to manage their work so as to ensure they have the following breaks and achieve what is required of them: • A meal break of between 30 and 60 minutes about the middle of the period of work for the day at an agreed convenient time; • [a] paid break/s of about 10 minutes at an agreed convenient time between the parties. Where Category B employees are rostered for a period of duty of 11 hours and 25 minutes, one paid meal breaks of thirty minutes duration will be notified to them on the daily work allocation sheet. A second paid break of thirty minutes being 3x10 minute paid rest breaks will also be notified. The first between two and four hours of commencement of duty; the second four hours after the end of the first break. Employees will not normally be required to work for more than 5 hours continuously without being relieved from duty for a meal period of between 30 and 60 minutes.
Meals and Rest Breaks. Employees shall normally be permitted two (2) fifteen minute rest breaks per shift, when they can be taken without a serious interference with the work at hand. Patrol Division employees will normally be permitted to take a paid thirty (30) minute lunch period when released by the supervisor. Detectives and administrative personnel covered by this Agreement will have a one hour unpaid lunch.
Meals and Rest Breaks. A member is entitled to meal and rest breaks for a period not to exceed one (1) hour for each eight (8) hours worked. Work periods for less than four (4) hours do not entitle a member to a break. Extended work periods of twelve (12) or more hours entitle a member to an additional half (1/2) hour break for each four (4) hours period in excess of eight (8) hours. Breaks shall be taken at times acceptable to shift supervisors and are subject to cancellation or interruption because of emergencies or staff shortages. The member shall be entitled to resume the break at the next opportunity to do so and at the shift supervisor's discretion.

Meals and Rest Breaks. 11.1. In keeping with the requirements of the Employment Relations Act 2000, meal and rest breaks will be provided as follows:
11.1.1. Where the duration of a shift is two or more hours but not more than four hours, one 10-minute paid rest break will be provided.
11.1.2. Where the duration of a shift is more than four hours but not more than six hours, one 10-minute paid rest break and one 30-minute unpaid meal break will be provided.
11.1.3. Where the duration of a shift is more than six hours but not more than 8 hours, two 10-minute rest breaks and one 30-minute unpaid meal break will be provided.
11.2. Where the duration of a shift is more than 8 hours the same breaks as set out in 11.1.1, 11.1.2 and 11.1.3 shall apply as if the employee’s work period had started at the end of the eighth hour.
11.3. A meal will be supplied when an employee is required to work overtime in excess of one hour and such overtime extends over the employee's normal mealtime. If Presbyterian Support does not provide a meal then a Meal Allowance as specified in Appendix 1 will be paid. Presbyterian Support will provide milk, tea, coffee and sugar for rest breaks.
11.4. Where an employee cannot be released by the employer for a meal break the employee shall be entitled to eat a meal during paid duty hours but shall remain responsible for and attend to matters requiring immediate attention.
Meals and Rest Breaks. The Employee is entitled to rest and meal breaks, of which the length and timing is based on the number of hours an Employee works per day. The following table outlines eligibility of breaks, in accordance with legislation. Rest breaks may be taken at times mutually agreed between the Employee and Employer in regard to operational requirements. Meals and Rest Breaks. D.1.4.1 As far as possible the hours of work shall be continuous except for an unpaid meal break of not more than one hour or less than 30 minutes as directed by the Employer, except that no worker shall be required to work for more than four and a half hours without an unpaid meal break.
D.1.4.2 Employees, including Grounds Staff, shall be granted a paid rest period of 10 minutes in each period of four hours worked, except for other Maintenance Workers who shall be granted 15 minutes each morning and afternoon and after each two consecutive hours of overtime, provided that no paid rest period shall be allowable after cessation of work. Normally that paid rest period shall be allowed after not less than two hours work.
