Paid. The Company recognizes the following as paid holidays: New Year's Day Canada Day Good Friday Labour Day Victoria Day Thanksgiving Day Civic Holiday Remembrance Day Christmas Day Boxing Day (Plus any day duly proclaimed by Federal or Provincial Authority as a public holiday). When one of the holidays listed above falls on a Sunday and the day following is proclaimed a holiday by Federal, Provincial, or MunicipalAuthority, the Sunday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purposesof this Agreement, except for those employeeswho regularlywork Mondaythrough Friday, in which case, the proclaimed day shall be the holiday. Employees shall be compensated for the above holidays in the following manner: If the holiday falls on a regular working day and employees are not requiredto work, they shall receive their normal basic for such day [eight (8) hours at the straight time rate]. If the holiday falls on a regularly scheduled day off or during their vacation period, they may add one day to their annual leave or be given one (1) day off with pay at a mutually agreeable time. If a holiday falls on a scheduledwork day and employees are required to work, they shall receive two and one-half (2 times their basic rate (which amount shall include their basic rate) with a minimum credit of eight (8) hours, except that all hours worked credited in excess of eight (8) hours per day will be paid at an additional one-half (112) times the basic hourly rate. Further all hours beyond twelve (12) in the day shall be paid at a further additional one-half (112) times the basic hourly rate of the employee. If the holiday falls on a scheduled day off and employees are required to work, they shall receive three (3)times their basic rate with a minimum credit of eight (8) hours, except that all hours worked credited in excess of eight (8) hours per day will be paid at an additional one- half (112) times the basic hourly rate. Further, hours beyond twelve (12) in the day shall be paid at a further additional one-half times the basic hourly rate of the employee. Paid. The following days are designated paid holidays for employees covered by this Collective Agreement:
Paid. All employees shall be paid for each of the following holidays at the greater of their regular or acting rates which were applicable on the day before the holiday: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day (Queen's birthday), Canada Day, Civic Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, the third Monday of February, and any other day expressly authorized by the Federal Government. If one of the above holidays falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, non-shift workers shall receive the following working as a holiday in lieu thereof. It is the intent of this Article that an employee is entitled to receive the benefit of a paid holiday only once. That is, for a shift worker who is compensated for the holiday on the Saturday or Sunday and then transfers to a day position on the Monday, which is being observed by day workers as the "in lieu of" day, the Monday will be considered a normal work day and a day of annual or compensatory leave must be used to be paid for the day. Similarly, for a day worker who transfers to a work position in the "in lieu of' Monday, the Monday will be considered the holiday and the appropriate compensation applied. In order to qualify for pay on the above-mentioned holidays, an employee must render compensated service on the day preceding or the day following the holiday. However, employees who are laid off on the working day preceding the holiday, or on the working day following the holiday, but who work for at least two (2) days in the calendar week in which the holiday falls, shall be paid for the holiday. 26 B. A year of service for advancement on the salary schedule shall be defined as three-fourths (¾) of the regularly scheduled work year.
Paid. The rest periods are paid; employees are not required to clock out during the rest period.
Paid. An employee who does not work on a paid holiday will qualify for holiday pay as per the proration formula if the employee worked at least twelve (12) days in the twenty-eight (28) days preceding the holiday and worked the scheduled day before and after the holiday.
Paid. Clause (granting of designated holidays) does not apply to a regular or seasonal employee who is absent without pay on both the working day immediately preceding and the working day following the designated paid holiday, except in the case of a regular or seasonal employee who is granted leave without pay under the provision of Article (Time Off for Representatives and Alliance Business), and in respect to whom the Alliance has certified that the employee was paid by the Alliance for Alliance business conducted on the working day immediately preceding and the working day immediately following the designated holiday.

(2) weeks prior in advance of the date. Full-time employees must have four (4) months’ service to be eligible for the Floating Holiday. Full-time employees who are absent without pay for the full months shall not receive a paid holiday (Article 21.01) or lieu time for a holiday that falls within such month.
Paid. A full-time employee who is scheduled to work shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1 for all worked on the holiday, plus receive another day off with pay, in lieu of holiday pay, at a time mutually agreed between the employee and the Employer.
