PAID HOLIDAYS (FULL-TIME ONLY). Paid Holidays will be calculated on the basis of seven and one half (7 ½) hours per day. An employee required to work on a designated holiday shall be paid at time and one half (1 ½) the employee’s straight time hour rate for all hours worked on such holiday. In addition, the employee will receive a lieu day off and will be paid on the basis of seven and one half (7 ½) hours per lieu day at a time mutually agreeable between the employee and the manager.

PAID HOLIDAYS (FULL-TIME ONLY). L24.01 An employee who otherwise qualifies under Article 24.02 shall receive the following holidays with pay: New Year's Day Civic Holiday Family Day Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Easter Monday Christmas Day Victoria Day Boxing Day July 1st Floating Holiday (one (1)) The Float holiday can be taken anytime during the fiscal year (April 1st to March 31st of the following year) that is mutually agreeable. If the float is not taken during the fiscal year it is forfeited. In the event that the Provincial Government declares an additional holiday (such as Heritage Day) during the term of this Agreement such holiday will be substituted for one of the above-mentioned holidays. Such designation shall not add to the present number of holidays. Where an employee is entitled to a lieu day under Article 24.01 or 24.03, such day off must be taken at a mutually agreeable time within ninety (90) days following the holiday or payment will be made in accordance with Article 24.01.
PAID HOLIDAYS (FULL-TIME ONLY). Where an employee is entitled to a lieu day off with pay, such time off must be taken by March 31 of the following calendar year in which it was earned, or the employee shall be paid for the lieu day at their regular rate of pay. Subject to the scheduling of requests for vacation received prior to February 1, requests for time off under this article shall be considered on a first come first served basis. Such requests shall be made in writing as far in advance as possible except in extenuating circumstances. A response in writing to such request will be provided within a maximum of fourteen

Where the employee has qualified for a lieu day off at 7.5 hours for a paid holiday, such time may be built into the employees posted schedule. Pre-booked lieu time will be scheduled in accordance with the timeframes listing in Article I.(2) b) Upon signing of the Letter of Agreement, the parties agree that the requirement for the parties to xxxxx xxxx time on a “at a day and time mutually agreeable between the employee and the manager” (per Article I.(2) c) has been satisfied.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Unworked Holidays Eligible employees shall receive pay equal to their normal work shift at their base rate in effect at the time the holiday occurs. An employee who is on the active payroll on the holiday and has worked both the last scheduled shift preceding the holiday and the first scheduled shift succeeding the holiday shall be eligible for pay for such unworked holiday. An exception to this requirement will occur if the employee(s) can furnish proof, satisfactory to the District that because of illness they were unable to work on either of such shifts, and the absence previous to such holiday, by reason of such illness, has not been longer than 30 regular workdays, and they received sick pay for the day(s) missed.

  • Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above-named holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus double their base rate for all hours worked on such holiday, plus shift differential if applicable, unless the employee starts to work at 10:00 P.M., or thereafter on that day.

  • Overtime Holidays Double time the regular rate for work on the following holiday(s). New Year's Day

  • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate.

  • Work on a Paid Holiday A) Regular Employee

  • Holiday Worked In addition to Subsection A above, employees will be compensated for the hours actually worked on a holiday at the overtime rate, in accordance with Article 17, Overtime.

  • Paid Holiday Pay Payment for holidays will be made at an employee’s basic pay, except if an employee has been working in a higher paid position than her regular position for a majority of the sixty (60) working days preceding her holiday, in which case she shall receive the higher pay.

  • Premium Holidays If the employer receives a premium holiday(s), the employees shall not be required to pay their portion of the premium(s) for the holiday month(s).
