SENIORITY AND JOB POSTING a) Subject to Article and seniority for the full-time Nurse shall be the length of service dating from last date of hire as a Nurse in the bargaining unit. Subject to Articles and seniority for the part-time Nurse shall be the actual hours worked as a part-time Nurse in the bargaining unit. A Nurse’s name shall be added to the appropriate seniority list upon completion of the probationary period. The probationary period for a full-time Nurse shall be six (6) months of service and for a part-time Nurse shall be hours of service and the probationary Nurse shall not have recourse to the grievance procedure in this agreement, save and except in matters of salary. Salary shall mean any direct and indirect remuneration. In all cases of transfer or promotion the following factors shall be considered:
a) Ability, experience and performance; Seniority. Employees who are the successful applicant for a temporary position will fulfil the term of such position and will not apply for another temporary position until they have completed nine (9) months of the initial temporary posting or until the term of the initial temporary posting is fulfilled, whichever comes first. This does not restrict or prevent the employee from applying for any permanent full time or part time position that may be posted. Where the qualifications of factor (a) are relatively equal, factor shall govern. If a senior applicant is refused the position shall be notified verbally.
a) In the event of a lay-off, probationary Nurses shall be laid off first. Thereafter, seniority shall determine order of lay-off commencing with the Nurse with the shortest seniority, provided that the Nurses affected are of relatively equal skill, ability and experience for the work to be performed. In a recall situation Nurses shall be recalled in reverse order of lay-off. If the Nurse fails to return from lay-off within five (5) days of receipt of notice to do so sent by registered mail shall lose all rights to seniority. The Employer will notify the Local Association forty-five (45) calendar days in advance of a layoff. If requested, the Employer will meet with the Local Association to discuss the reasons for the layoff. In the event of a layoff, the Region and the Association will meet to discuss the circumstances of the layoff. SENIORITY AND JOB POSTING. 30 A. Seniority:
31 1. Continuous employment means the performance of all scheduled hours of 32 work, including time off because of paid-leave hours, extended-illness 33 hours, and low-census hours, reduced by the periods of any authorized 1 unpaid leaves of absence of 14 or more days that has not been 2 interrupted by the occurrence of the following:
3 a. Termination, unless rehired within 30 days.
5 b. Layoff for lack of work that has continued for six consecutive 6 months.
8 c. Continued absence following the expiration of a written leave of 9 absence or emergency extension thereof granted by Hospital.
11 d. Absence from work for three consecutive working days without 12 notice to Hospital.
14 e. Failure to report for work promptly after an accident or sickness 15 when released to return to work by a physician.
17 f. With respect to Per Diem nurses only, not having worked for 18 Hospital as a nurse for three consecutive months, excluding time 19 while absent because of illness or on-the-job injury.
21 2. Seniority means the length of continuous employment by Hospital of a 22 type covered by this Agreement as measured by years of service. A staff 24 Hospital, enters non-bargaining-unit employment by Hospital that is not 25 covered by this Agreement retains all previously earned seniority under 26 this Agreement, which will be the individual’s seniority if the individual is 27 subsequently employed as a staff nurse under this Agreement without a 28 break in Hospital employment.
30 B. Job Posting and Filling of Vacancies:
31 1. Qualified nurses who apply using the Hospital’s current application 32 process to change units, shifts, or hours will be given preference in order 33 of seniority when vacancies occur, first among all full-and part-time nurses 1 within the unit, then among Per Diem applicants within the unit, then 2 among all full- and part-time nurses house-wide; and next among Per 3 Diem applicants house-wide.
5 2. A nurse who wishes to change shifts, move to another nursing service 6 department, or change status (i.e., part-time, full-time, or Per Diem) shall 7 make his/her wish known using the Hospital’s current application process 8 to the individual designated by the Chief Clinical Officer, who shall retain 9 such requests for subsequent consideration when an opening occurs.
SENIORITY AND JOB POSTING. Section 8.1. Seniority Defined. Seniority shall be based on the most recent date of hire as a regular full-time or regular part-time employee in any job classification covered by this agreement. Employees working as a per diem employee shall not accrue seniority.

SENIORITY AND JOB POSTING. A. Seniority shall be defined as the length of unbroken continuous service at the Greater Xxxxxx Technical High School in a full-time position covered by this Contract. Seniority will be one ofthe factors considered at all times in matters of:
1. Department vacation time.
2. School-wide posted full-time job vacancies within the bargaining unit.
3. Change of shifts (final decision up to immediate supervisor).
4. Skeleton crew days (final decision up to immediate supervisor).
5. Overtime
6. Layoffs

SENIORITY AND JOB POSTING. (a) Full time seniority is defined as the length of continuous service with the Employer since the last date of hire, excluding any periods of leave of absence in which seniority was maintained, but did not accumulate.
(b) Regular Part-time and Casual seniority is defined as the total number of hours paid since last date of hire.
(c) Where a temporary employee continues to be employed after the term of the temporary vacancy or after the six (6) month period, she shall be credited with seniority retroactive to date of last hire.
