If the City determines that a classification no longer requires the use of personal tools, or the City determines that a new classification requires the use of personal tools, the City will enter into negotiations with the Association prior to taking any action. The City shall provide a secure area for the employees to keep their personal tool set on the job site and shall insure the employee against the loss and/or damage beyond use, by a second party, whenever the tool set is on City property. CLOTHING AND TOOL ALLOWANCE. 38.1 Upon completion of their probationary period, full-time on-air reporters and photojournalists shall qualify for a clothing allowance per calendar year to the value of, and, provided at intervals as set forth herein, for the purchase of appropriate clothing as set out in the following. Receipts must be submitted within one (1) month of the purchase to be eligible for reimbursement 38.2 Upon completion of their probationary period, Employees classified as Maintenance Engineer and Senior Maintenance Engineer shall receive a tool allowance of one hundred fifty dollars ($150). Upon completion of their probationary period, full-time Employees classified as Microwave Operator, ENG Operator and Senior ENG Operator shall be reimbursed, upon presentation of appropriate receipts, for up to One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per calendar year for safety footwear. The Company shall also provide such Employees with a suitable, all-weather jacket every three (3) calendar years.
CLOTHING AND TOOL ALLOWANCE. All uniformed employees will be provided, without cost, all tools required to perform their duties, safety equipment and one (1) pair of boots, if needed, with the approval of the Department Head, excluding underclothing and foot socks. (a) The Company agrees to pay employees in classifications of Sanitation, Distribution, Material Handlers, Licensed Millwright, Electrician, Batch Blend, and Injection one hundred and eighty dollars ($180.00) annually towards the purchase of safety footwear where such footwear is to be used at work. All other employees will receive one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) annually. Effective June 1, 2021, the existing boot allowance will increase from $180.00 to $190.00 and $150.00 to $160.00. And effective June 1, 2024, the boot allowance will increase from $190.00 to $200.00 and $160.00 to $170.00. 21.03 The Company agrees to pay each employee in Group Classifications four (4) up to five hundred dollars ($500.00) per year as a tool allowance. This tool allowance will be paid only upon receipt provided by the employee for new or replacement tools and shall only apply to employees who have passed the probation period effective the date of payment. This allowance will be paid on a separate cheque. Effective the date of ratification of the 2020-2025 Collective Agreement, the Company agrees to reimburse up to a maximum of one hundred thirty-five dollars ($135.00) annually paid upon receipt provided by the employee for the cost of renewing licenses required by trade licensing authorities to maintain the 309A or Refrigeration Class B Operator license where the license is required in the performance of the employee’s job.

Safety shoes must be worn at all times during working hours. 23.03 The Company will pay up to one hundred dollars ($100) once every twelve months, for one pair of prescription safety glasses for those employees who require them. 23.04 The company will pay up to $300 per calendar year per employee to share 50% of tool purchases. The company will pay the full cost of replacing employee’s broken tools where the tool allowance has been exhausted; otherwise the cost will be shared between company and employee.
CLOTHING AND TOOL ALLOWANCE. Effective July 1, 2023, maintenance employee will be required to wear, daily and on recall (excluding emergency situations), as a condition of employment, the following standard uniform as determined by the Haverhill School Committee: ● 5 pair work blue pants or jeans ● 5 work shirts (T-shirt, polo or button down) with HPS logo ● A three season jacket or 3 blue sweatshirts with HPS logo winter coat (OSHA approved high visibility safety coat) every third year. ● Pair of work boots or work shoes (OSHA approved) The Committee and Association agree that proper maintenance, safe use, care and safekeeping of tools is primarily the responsibility of the employee using those tools. The Haverhill Public Schools will supply tools/equipment, which will be assigned to and secured in the district vehicle. The employee will be expected to safely keep and maintain their maintenance department vehicle and all the tools and equipment supplied with the vehicle. Maintenance employees are to report damaged, lost or stolen equipment immediately to the Director of Facilities. Tools and supplies, including replacements, can be ordered through the requisition process. All tools and supplies are the property of the Haverhill Public Schools.

The County will be responsible to replace tools broken or lost during the normal course of work upon approval of the County. Any tools purchased by the County to be used for general use will be kept in the tool room or a County owned storage area, for which ownership shall remain with the County. The County agrees to finance the purchase of hand tools for employees in the mechanic and maintenance classifications if requested by the employee and approved by the County. The tool must contain a manufacture's warranty. Repayment to the County by the employee shall be by payroll deduction in the amount of fifty dollars ($50.00) each payday until paid in full. At no time can an employee owe the County more than one thousand dollars (1,000.00) under this program. If the employee terminates employment with a debt owed to the County, the County shall deduct the money owed by the employee from the employee's final paycheck. If there are insufficient funds available to cover the employee's debt to the County, the employee may elect to pay the balance or the County will repossess the tools necessary to cover the debt. The County will budget a maximum debt of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) per fiscal year for the purpose of purchasing hand tools. At no time during the fiscal year will the potential debt exceed this amount. D. In addition to the foregoing, the County shall provide, on an "as needed" basis, one

CLOTHING AND TOOL ALLOWANCE. SECTION 1: The clothing allowance to be paid to any Local Lodge 2305 employee shall be limited to employees on active pay status and shall remain the same amount ($420) for the duration of this contract for all bargaining unit employees. The City shall have the right to determine how best to make the clothing allowance available. This may include the use of an exclusive supplier, a quartermaster system or some other arrangement that could differ from the way it is presently done. SECTION 2: The clothing payment is to be made by separate check with employee's regular paycheck on or immediately following May 1st of the contract year. SECTION 3: If an employee is not working due to injury or sickness at the time of the clothing payment, on returning to work his allowance will be pro-rated on a quarterly basis. Payment will be one quarter (1/4) of full amount for each quarter or portion of the remaining quarters until the end of the fiscal year beginning May 1st and ending April 30th of the following year. SECTION 4: All mechanics shall receive a $200 per year, maximum tool allowance. All mechanics will be permitted to replace broken/worn out tools, at the expense of the City, up to the limit of $200 per year. The broken/worn out tool(s) must be turned in to the Fleet Manager/Director, and a tool of equal or comparable value will be purchased to replace it.

(d) Uniforms will be picked up each week for cleaning and replaced, enabling each employee to have a clean uniform on hand for each day of the week.
