Overtime and Comp Time. Appalachian Voices strives to provide a sustainable workload that can reasonably be accomplished in a 40-hour work week. In instances when that is not possible, the following policies will apply: A. Overtime-eligible (non-exempt) employees will receive overtime pay at the rate of time plus one-half paid for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a work week (or in excess of such other overtime threshold as is specified under applicable wage-hour laws). Overtime-eligible staff must accurately and contemporaneously record and report all actual work hours in accordance with applicable law. No overtime shall be worked without advance written approval from the Employer. B. Exempt employees will receive one (1) hour of compensatory time off for every hour worked in excess of 80 hours in any pay period. Employees are generally expected to take their comp time within six weeks of the conclusion of the circumstances triggering comp time (for example, GA session). Employees will seek pre-approval in instances where they plan to use eight (8) or more consecutive hours of comp time.
Overtime and Comp Time. In accordance with the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, nonexempt employees shall be awarded overtime for all hours actually worked in excess of forty (40) hours in a workweek at time and one half (1 1/2) their regular rate of pay. For purposes of overtime and comp-time, hours paid (such as vacation, sick leave, comp-time, holidays, etc.) but not worked shall not be calculated in the standard workweek for the purposes of overtime/comp-time. Employees choosing to utilize comp-time shall be allowed to accumulate and carry up to fifty (50) hours of comp-time during the calendar year, after which overtime will be automatically paid in lieu of comp-time.

Employees covered by this Agreement will be compensated for overtime 16 based on hours worked in excess of a tour of duty as provided under Section 7(K) of 17 the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). A tour of duty for purposes of this provision shall 18 consist of eighty-four (84) hours worked in a fourteen (14) consecutive-day work 19 period, or such other tour of duty as may be established by the County within the 20 options provided under Section 7(K). 21 B. Employees are scheduled to work forty (40) hours per week. If an 22 employee works more than their tour of duty in a week, it must be due to an emergent 23 situation, such as for recognizance calls, or with supervisor approval. 24 C. The time worked over eighty (80) but less than eighty-four (84) hours in 25 an employee’s tour of duty shall be taken hour for hour as (1) flex-time off to be 26 scheduled by mutual agreement between the employee and supervisor during the tour 27 of duty, (2) paid at straight time, or (3) with supervisor approval may be granted as 28 compensatory time off in lieu of pay (also at the straight time rate). Flex-time not taken 29 during the tour of duty will be paid for at straight time as of the applicable pay date.
Overtime and Comp Time. 6.1 The parties agree that the practice of law inevitably involves crises, which all Employees must be prepared to meet. While overtime is to be expected occasionally, reasonable efforts will be made to avoid keeping support staff personnel beyond the close of their hours and from overtime employment on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays. 6.2 Lawyers and Legal Assistants will not be compensated for overtime work except as set forth under Section 6.4. 6.3 Support staff may be requested to work overtime if adequate notice is given. No support staff shall be required to work overtime. Overtime shall be work performed in excess of thirty- five (35) hours in any week, or for work on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays and shall be authorized on an appropriate overtime voucher. Compensation for overtime work shall be at the rate of time and one-half computed on the gross weekly salary of the Employee and double time on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays on which RILS is closed. 6.4 Compensatory time will be granted as follows:
Overtime and Comp Time. Overtime shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half times the base hourly rate for all hours compensated beyond forty (40) hours per week or for work performed outside worked shall be pay or compensatory time, as authorized by the Department Director or designee at the time earned. Compensatory time accumulated shall not exceed ten (10) working days, or 80 hours at any time. Should an employee be required to work on a Sunday, such time would be compensated at two (2) times the employee's base hourly rate of pay.

Overtime and Comp Time. 12.1 Without making any admission or determination as to exempt status for purposes of the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) or Missouri law, the parties agree to treat Unit employees as non-exempt for overtime pay purposes. All rights to determine exempt status after the term of this Agreement ends are reserved. 12.2 Time and one half (1 1/2) shall be paid for hours worked in excess of one hundred sixty (160) hours per twenty-eight (28) day period. Overtime rates shall be calculated at time and one half (1 1/2) the employee’s regular rate. Overtime must be approved in advance of working. Approval may come from the Supervisor or a Command Staff officer of Lieutenant or above in rank. Provided, however, nothing in this paragraph shall exempt a Sergeant during a shift starting between 2100 of one day and 0700 hours of the following day, or during a holiday or weekend shift, when there is no officer of greater rank on duty, from continuing to work past the end of the scheduled shift where necessary. If more than one Sergeant is on duty during such a situation, and is not necessary for all such Sergeants to continue working, then the Sergeants may agree amongst themselves which Sergeant(s) will continue working. If an agreement cannot be reached, then the Sergeant(s) with the least tenure within that rank shall continue working. And in such circumstances, any Sergeant working past the end of his or her scheduled shift shall notify his or her superior officer of the time worked not later than the beginning of his or her next-scheduled shift by submitting a request for overtime compensation form (“overtime chit”). If time is lost during the 28-day flex schedule for any unexcused or unscheduled absence, or for any vacation, holiday, unpaid leave, funeral leave or discipline, then overtime shall not apply (i.e. such unworked time shall not be considered hours worked for overtime purposes). 12.3 Notwithstanding the provisions in Article 12.2, in cases where employees are assigned to work on government-funded grant work for which the City has received funding, and which requires the City to compensate employees at time and one half (1 1/2) their base rate for such pay, then the employee shall be paid their straight-time base rate plus an additional payment of 50% of their base rate for each hour worked on that assignment.   • Overtime and Compensatory Time Overtime work shall be compensated as follows: A. Hours in an active pay status in excess of forty (40) hours in any calendar week shall be compensated at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times the total rate of pay, as defined by Section 43.01, for each hour of such time. Total rate of pay includes the base rate plus longevity, all applicable supplements, and shift differential where applicable. B. An employee may elect to take compensatory time off in lieu of cash overtime payment for hours in an active pay status more than forty (40) hours in any calendar week. Such compensatory time shall be granted on a time and one-half (1 1/2) basis. C. The maximum accrual of compensatory time shall be two hundred forty (240) hours and compensatory time must be taken within one (1) year of its being earned. D. When the maximum hours of compensatory time accrual is rendered, payment for overtime work shall be made in cash. Compensatory time not taken within one (1) year shall be paid in cash to a maximum of eighty (80) hours in any pay period. E. Compensatory time is not available for use until it appears on the employee’s earnings statement and on the date the funds are made available. F. Upon termination of employment, an employee shall be paid for unused compensatory time at a rate which is the higher of: 1. The final total rate received by the employee, or 2. The average total rate received by the employee during the last three (3) years of employment. For the purposes of this Article, active pay status is defined as the conditions under which an employee is eligible to receive pay, and includes, but is not limited to, vacation leave and personal leave. Sick leave and any leave used in lieu of sick leave shall not be considered as active pay status for purposes of this Article. Compensatory time requests must be submitted in writing twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the anticipated time off, unless the need for time off is of an emergency nature.

  • Overtime/Compensatory Time A. Employees working assigned, pre-approved time in excess of forty (40) hours per week shall be given either overtime pay or compensatory time at the rate of one and one-half times the employee’s regular rate of pay. The name of the supervisor authorized to approve overtime assignments shall be posted in each building. The employee may elect to take either overtime pay or compensatory time off. Holidays, sick leave, personal days, or vacation days shall be included as regular time for purposes of computing overtime. In the event overtime is required, the Assistant Superintendent or his/her designee shall solicit volunteers to fill the overtime positions. In the event no volunteers are available or the volunteers available are unqualified in the opinion of the Assistant Superintendent or designee, overtime may be assigned. Overtime assignments will be made on a rotational basis at each work site to employees who normally do the work assigned. Reasonable advance notice will be given to employees assigned overtime. An employee shall not be called in for snow removal duty sooner than 8 hours following the conclusion of his/her regular shift or any other work performed for the District. B. Only forty-five (45) hours of compensatory time can be earned in a contract year. Use of compensatory time must be approved by the employee’s immediate supervisor. Compensatory time earned must be used during the contract year in which it is earned or cashed in for pay at the rate in effect for the employee at the time the employee receives such payment. Employees who have accumulated more than forty (40) hours of compensatory time at the time of execution of this Agreement shall retain all such accumulated time, provided, however, that such employees shall not be allowed to use more than forty (40) hours in any contract year. All compensatory time must be submitted on a timesheet. C. All overtime worked must be submitted on a timesheet to the building principal in accordance with business office procedures for processing payroll. Requests for use of compensatory time off shall be submitted in writing to the building principal in accordance with business office procedures for processing payroll. X. Xx employee called in to work on his/her day off will be paid for a minimum of two (2) hours at the appropriate rate. E. The decision to assign overtime will not be based upon an employee’s preference for either compensatory time or overtime pay. F. In the event an employee’s regular permanent assignment requires the performance of duties in more than one job classification, the overtime rate to be used to calculate compensation for the employee for the overtime work shall be the rate of the classification which caused the employee to work such overtime hours.

  • Overtime for Part-Time Employees ‌ (a) A part-time employee working less than the normal hours per day of a full-time employee, and who is required to work longer than their regular workday, shall be paid at the rate of straight-time for the hours so worked, up to and including the normal hours in the workday of a full-time employee. (b) A part-time employee working less than the normal days per week of a full-time employee, and who is required to work other than their regularly scheduled workdays, shall be paid at the rate of straight-time for the days so worked up to and including the normal workdays in the workweek of a full-time employee. (c) Overtime rates shall apply to hours worked in excess of (a) and (b) above.

  • HOLIDAY COMPENSATION FOR TIME WORKED 110. Employees required by their respective appointing officers to work on any of the above specified or substitute holidays, excepting Fridays observed as holidays in lieu of holidays falling on Saturday, shall be paid extra compensation of one additional day's pay at time-and-one-half the usual rate in the amount of 12 hours pay for 8 hours worked or a proportionate amount for less than 8 hours worked provided, however, that at the employee's request and with the approval of the appointing officer, an employee may be granted compensatory time off in lieu of paid overtime pursuant to the provisions of Section III.E.2. 111. Executive, administrative and professional employees designated in the Annual Salary Ordinance with the "Z" symbol shall not receive extra compensation for holiday work but may be granted time off equivalent to the time worked at the rate of-one-and-one-half times for work on the holiday.

  • Overtime Compensation 1. Except as provided in this section, Grantee will be responsible for any obligations of premium overtime pay due employees. Premium overtime pay is defined as any compensation paid to an individual in addition to the employee’s normal rate of pay for hours worked in excess of normal working hours. 2. Funds provided under this Contract may be used to pay the premium portion of overtime only under the following conditions: i. With the prior written approval of System Agency; ii. Temporarily, in the case of an emergency or an occasional operational bottleneck; iii. When employees are performing indirect functions, such as administration, maintenance, or accounting; iv.   • Part-Time Employees Employees who are scheduled to work less than forty (40) hours per workweek.

  • Overtime Meals When employees are required to work more than two (2) hours beyond their regular work days, the Employer will provide hot meals at no cost to the employees, up to a maximum of sixteen dollars ($16.00) (receipts to be submitted) plus paid meal periods of one-half (1/2) hour at the prevailing rate and thereafter at four (4) hour intervals. Any early morning start before regular starting time is entitled to a paid meal. The breakfast limit is thirteen dollars ($13.00) (receipts to be submitted). Employees called out on overtime shall be paid for meals as above, after four (4) hours work.

  • Overtime and Premium Pay A nurse shall be paid at the rate of one and one- half (1½) times the nurse’s regular hourly rate of pay for all hours worked in any one category listed below, including statutory overtime pay under 9.4.1 or premium pay under 9.4.2 through

  • Part-Time Employment Monthly compensation for part-time employment will be pro-rated based on the ratio of hours worked to hours required for full-time employment. In the alternative, part-time employees may be paid the appropriate hourly rate for all hours worked.
