PAID DETAILS. Section 28.1 Whenever any private person, public body or organization is required to, or shall seek the services of members of the Fire Department for fire watch duty, such work shall be rotated fairly by the Union membership according to the seniority list of continuous service with the Andover Fire Department, among all employees who are off-duty. Members without dress uniforms shall not be permitted to accept outside details other than road jobs as stipulated in Section 28.3, item c.

PAID DETAILS. Details will be paid as per the department policy. Members shall be paid within the current pay period following completion of detail. The rates shall be as follows: Town Rate- $50 Private Rate- $55 Holiday Rate- 1.5 times applicable rate Firefighters shall be paid a guaranteed minimum of four hours, six hours after four hours worked, and eight hours after six hours worked. Details worked in excess of eight hours shall receive holiday rate on an hourly basis. The method for detail selection shall be determined by the Chief of the department. The Town and Chief will post the current Detail policy and method for selection in a conspicuous place in both East and West stations at the start of each Fiscal Year.
PAID DETAILS. 35.01. All members of the bargaining unit shall be afforded the opportunity to accept outside detail work, but there shall be no discrimination against any member who declines to work outside details on a voluntary basis. Members shall have the option of declining offered outside details. Outside details shall be distributed to all members on an equitable and fair basis.
PAID DETAILS. All assignments for paid details will be made by an officer designated by and responsible to the Chief of Police. All paid details are to be awarded on a fair and equitable basis according to past practice. All regular full time police officers will have the right of first refusal on all paid details. In the event regular officers are not available or are not desirous of working a paid detail, reserve officers may be offered the detail. Any employee who refuses a detail shall not be removed from the detail list. All police officers on extra pay details shall be subject to the direction and control of their Supervisors and shall abide by and comply with the Police Department’s Rules and Regulations. If an extra detail assignment, requested by a party other than the Town, is cancelled within two (2) hours of the scheduled start of the detail assignment, and if the officer does not accept another extra duty detail for that time period, the officer will receive a cancellation fee of four (4) hours. The following rates shall apply to all paid details. Unless otherwise noted, all rates are per hour and a four (4) hour minimum shall apply. Employees shall be paid a minimum of eight (8) hours for non-municipal utility-related details that actually extend beyond four (4) hours. This includes all details paid to contractors working on behalf of the Town. The following rates are effective as of the first Sunday following ratification of the Agreement.
PAID DETAILS. Section 1 Private Details (Includes outside private work and town detail work). All private detail work shall be assigned under the direction of the Chief as far as possible to the Officers willing to accept it. Officers will be paid hourly and at no time will an Officer receive payment for a segment of an hour unless said Officer works at least fifteen minutes into said hour. However, after four hours and fifteen minutes, an Officer working a non-Town paid detail shall be paid a minimum of eight (8) hours. After four hours and fifteen minutes, an officer working a Town paid detail shall be paid a minimum of six (6) hours. After six hours and fifteen minutes, an officer working a Town paid detail shall be paid a minimum of eight (8) hours. At the discretion of the Chief of Police, the eight- (8-) hour minimum may be waived on a case-by-case basis.
PAID DETAILS. Section 26.1 The following provisions shall govern the assignment of paid police details for the Division of Environmental Law Enforcement, Executive Office of Environmental Affairs. Such provisions shall be utilized in conjunction with the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Coalition of Public Safety, Unit 5, Regarding Law Enforcement Details” contained in this Agreement. The rate of pay shall be increased from $32.00 to $40.00 per hour, effective December 9, 2007. If a higher rate is paid to any other law enforcement officer working or offered work at the job site involved than the Environmental Police officers shall be paid that higher rate. When assigned to a paid detail for a state agency, other than DEM, the rate of pay shall be time and one-half the hourly rate for such employees. There shall be a minimum of four (4) hours work for each assignment. Effective December 9, 2007, details will be rounded to the next hour. (For example, if an EPO is assigned to a detail for 4 hours and 15 minutes, that EPO shall be paid for five hours at the detail rate.) Additional compensation at the rate of time and one-half the applicable Detail rate will be paid for all assignments in excess of eight (8) hours. The rates set for the in this article may be increased by mutual agreement of the parties, but in no event less than thirty (30) days from the signing of this Agreement. All employees will signify in writing their desire to accept or not accept paying police Details, and a current file in this subject will be maintained by the agency head or designee. Except as otherwise indicated, officers on full duty status may work Paid Details. An officer who utilizes such leave for their regularly scheduled shift shall not be eligible to work a Detail on that same day. No employee may work more than a total of sixteen and one-half (16.5) hours in any twenty-four (24) hour period. No employee shall work more than forty-two (42) hours in any seventy-two (72) hour period. Work shall be defined to include regularly scheduled duty, overtime, court time and Paid Details. No employee shall accept a Paid Detail if doing so would require that the employee not work regularly scheduled time or time for other work obligations (such as court appearances) of which the employee is aware.
