Rehiring of Retired Teachers. 1. Teachers who have retired and who are or will be receiving benefits through any State Retirement System, whether in state or out of state, may be employed by the Board of Education. There shall be no expectation that any such teacher, whether formerly an employee of the Board or not, will be offered employment. The Board reserves the right to offer or not to offer such employment selectively, based on the needs of the School District, and no reason will be given for declining to offer such employment to anyone pursuant to this provision. 2. The salary to be paid to the retired teacher shall be determined as agreed by the Board and the teacher. 3. Individuals employed pursuant to this shall be eligible to receive a single plan paid in accordance with this Agreement, unless the individual is eligible to receive insurance coverage from a different source, in which case, the individual must obtain coverage from the other source. 4. Teachers employed pursuant to this provision shall receive one (1) year limited contracts and shall not be eligible for continuing contracts, regardless of their years of service or license held. 5. Each one (1) year contract shall automatically expire upon the completion of the year and it shall not be necessary for the District to take formal action to non-renew the employee pursuant to ORC 3319.11, in order to terminate the employment relationship. The employment relationship shall end upon the expiration of the contract in the same manner as a supplemental contract. Teachers employed pursuant to this provision may not post for vacancies, maintain bumping rights, and have no seniority rights over any other teacher. The Board shall not be required to evaluate any individual employed pursuant to this article per the evaluation process set forth in Article VII. Teachers hired pursuant to this provision are not entitled to any severance benefits or retirement incentive benefits. 6. Teachers employed pursuant shall not be permitted to transfer any sick leave they may have earned from previous employment with another employer but shall earn sick leave during the contractual year at the same rate as other members of the bargaining unit. 7. All of the terms and conditions of employment set forth in the preceding subsections shall supersede and replace any sections of the Ohio Revised Code with which they are in conflict, including but not limited to, Sections 3319.07, 3319.08, 3319.11, 3319.111, 3319.112, 3319.12, 3319.17, Chapter 330...

Rehiring of Retired Teachers. Teachers who have retired from the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville, or any other public Indiana School Corporation, who are receiving benefits from the Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS) will receive the following salaries and benefits: Base Salary Rehired Retired Teachers will be placed on a base salary scheduled between $45,000 and $55,000. The Superintendent will consult with the Association President prior to making any other variation in the salary placement of a new hire.
Rehiring of Retired Teachers. The following provisions shall govern the rehiring of certified/licensed teachers who have retired from employment with the Versailles Exempted Village School District. Any person who has retired and then rehired will be automatically considered as being non-renewed at the end of each one (1) year contract and said position will be posted, advertised, and applications accepted. Personnel in that position may state their intent to reapply for said position but must go through the identical process as all other applicants. Retired teachers must declare their retirement prior to rehiring and be currently certified/licensed. Teacher who have retired from Versailles Exempted Village School District and are rehired shall be placed on the salary schedule at the five (5) year experience level at their appropriate level of education. For the purpose of seniority, retirement for a period of not less than sixty (60) days constitutes a break in service, so the retired employee must begin again to accrue seniority of service in the District. Employees of the District, who have received severance pay based on their accrued, but unused sick leave days, upon retirement, shall be deemed to have closed the sick leave account. Retired teachers rehired by the Board shall begin over to accumulate new sick leave days as provided by this agreement. Retired teachers who are hired or rehired by the District shall receive the full terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement except for the provisions contained in this article. Retired teachers rehired will not be eligible for severance.
Rehiring of Retired Teachers. 1. This provision determines all changes to the collective bargaining agreement in effect between the parties as they relate to the rehiring of retired teachers in the district. (Note: the words "rehired" or "reemployed" as used in this section shall refer to any retired teacher under a state teacher retirement system who is hired into this district, whether previously an employee of the Greenon Local School District or any other school district.) 2. Teachers who have retired from STRS and are rehired by the Greenon Local Board of Education may be placed on Step 0 of their proper education classification and shall not advance at any time; even upon subsequent hire. 3. There shall be no guarantee of reemployment of any teacher in the district if the teacher retires or Is already retired. 4. To be eligible for reemployment, a retired teacher must have accepted severance pay, if eligible, and must have eliminated his/her sick leave upon retirement from his/her prior employment. Reemployed teachers may commence their reemployment with up to 15 days of accumulated sick leave if saiddays are carried forward from their prior employer. 5. A retired teacher may receive consideration for reemployment when the administration has determined that no other non-retired bargaining unit teachers are available or suitable for the position(s)available. 6. Reemployed teachers are not eligible to participate in any retirement incentive program nor are they eligible for severance pay.

The Rehired Retired Teacher will be eligible for a compensation increase every two years, provided the Rehired Retired Teacher receives an evaluation rating of Effective or Highly Effective and provided further that other teachers in the bargaining unit receive compensation increase.

Rehiring of Retired Teachers. A. A unit member may elect to return to duty immediately following retirement under The State Teachers’ Retirement System provided: 1. Such retirement follows the last scheduled work day of the school year. 2. The unit member completes the school year. 3. The return to duty begins on the first scheduled work day of the next school year. 4. The unit member has not accumulated 35 years of STRS credit. 5. In the event that a Reduction in Force is contemplated or implemented by the Board in the year that a unit member elects to exercise rights under this provision, the unit member shall be guaranteed rehire for one (1) year. B. Each successive year of rehire will be at the discretion of the superintendent. C. Any unit member with 35 years or more STRS credit may also be rehired, although at the discretion of the superintendent. D. No accumulated sick leave shall be carried forward when the unit member returns to duty. (See Section 11.01 under Article E. A unit member returning to duty shall start at Step 5 of the salary schedule and remain at Step 5 except that the unit member shall receive any percent increases that might apply to that step. F. Any unit member who has retired from another school district or who has severed ties with Northmont for at least one year may not be hired for more than a year, and thereafter on a year-to-year basis. Said employees will start at Step 5 and remain at step 5 except that the unit member shall receive any percent increases that might apply to that step. G. Unit members who are hired by the Board after retiring from another school system shall be placed at Step 5 during the entire term of their employment at Northmont. H. Retired unit member who return to duty are nevertheless subject to a reduction in force, and for the purposes of a reduction in force their seniority shall date from their return to duty after retirement in the following manner: 1. If a reduction in force is declared by the Board of Education after a retired unit member has received his or her contract for the next school year, that unit member’s seniority shall date from their return to duty after retirement. 2. If a reduction in force is declared by the Board of Education before a retired unit member has received his or her contract for the next school year, that unit member may not be issued a contract regardless of seniority, as supported by K. I. Unit members returning to duty shall be eligible for benefits under Sections 11.01, 11.06, 11.07, and 11....
Rehiring of Retired Teachers. Any bargaining unit member who retires under STRS and is subsequently reemployed in this district may receive up to a maximum of ten (10) years service credit based upon actual years of service as specified in the salary index contained in this Agreement. This provision and such salary and individual contract with a member expressly supersedes RC 3317.13 and all other applicable laws. While employed by the district subsequent to retirement this member is not eligible for benefits that are currently offered to the retiree through STRS. This member also waives years of Clark-Shawnee Local School District service credit beyond ten (10) years. Such employee is not eligible to receive a severance payment upon leaving employment with the district nor are they eligible for a continuing contract. In the event of reduction in force as per Article XXII of this Agreement, rehired retired bargaining unit members shall be reduced in force before any other bargaining unit members.
