Staff Development Plan. The Grantee ensured staff met specific qualifications for the SNAP-Ed functions and commits to ongoing training to develop and enhance staff capacity. The Grantee must maintain adequate personnel documentation in accordance with standard human resources best practices. The Grantee will submit a Staff Development Plan within thirty (30) business days after effective date of the contract. The plan ensures that training and continuing education opportunities for SNAP-Ed staff that will lead to expanded professional capacity and in-depth expertise. On-going plan updates and changes shall be submitted to HHSC by the Grantee for approval at least thirty (30) business days before a change becomes effective. Grantee trains staff and ensures they are competent to provide services and determine the appropriate number of training hours required for each staff person to meet the minimum requirements of competency. Staff Development Plan. Annually, a Professional Development Committee composed of teachers and administrators will plan the comprehensive professional development activities for the upcoming school year. The Administration shall consider the proposal from the Committee and shall make the final decision regarding the plan, based on the needs of the faculty, Administration, students, and community. Instructor applicants shall submit a proposal and provide evidence of their qualifications for teaching the course. A one-time preparation fee shall be paid per the chart below not to exceed the presentation time. On advanced approval, teachers who successfully complete the District staff development experience shall be paid per the chart below. Staff Development Plan. It is the intention of the Council to ensure that all staff receive during working periods sufficient training to satisfy the requirements of the Food Safety Act 1990 Code of Practice. To ensure this all staff as appropriate employed on food safety inspections will receive a minimum of 10 hours core training per year. This will be by way of formal courses and in house seminars. Such training will be recorded on officer training records. For staff who are not currently employed on food safety inspections a programme of update training will be produced. This ensures that all relevant officers are capable of inspecting low and very low risk premises. The programme will be further developed to ensure that with a short period of refresher training they are able to undertake full inspections should this be deemed necessary. This will allow for flexible use of staff within the Service for food safety work if necessary.

Staff Development Plan. The councils have a single performance review scheme. As part of the scheme, officers formally discuss and agree individual performance targets and training/personal development plans with their line manager every 12 months. Progress with the plan is reviewed periodically so any issues can be raised and addressed. Relevant training areas are identified to ensure the requirements for authorised officers in accordance with the Food Law Code of Practice are met. The FSA’s Authorised Officer Competency Assessment form is used to help identify training and development needs. The Team ensures that all enforcement officers are appropriately qualified and receive regular training to maintain and improve their level of competency. All officers are expected to have access to the equivalent of at least 10 hours update training, which is monitored through the team’s internal Service Plan. A mixture of both internal and external training is provided for officers to achieve this aim. The Team will take advantage of opportunities for low cost training offered by the Food Standards Agency.
