WORK YEAR AND VACATION. 1. Members under a 10-month contract shall work September 1 through June 30. Members under a 10-month contract shall be entitled to five (5) vacation days. The work year for 12-month members shall consist of 260 days less holidays and vacation days. Members under a 12-month contract shall be awarded vacation days as per the following schedule based on years of service in the District: Beginning year of employmentcompletion of 14th year – 21 days Beginning of 15th year – completion of 19th year – 23 days Beginning of 20th year – retirement/resignation – 25 days 2. Buy back up to six (6) vacation days per year at the employee’s per diem rate to be paid at the end of the school year. Application shall be made by the June voucher cut-off date to meet the June 30th payroll.

WORK YEAR AND VACATION. 9.1 The Superintendent is a twelve-month employee with a work year of 260 days, inclusive of 22 days of vacation, and 16 days of federal, state, or local district holidays. The number of work days is therefore, 222 and the per diem is calculated accordingly at $1171.17 ($260,000/222 days). Vacation shall accrue in equal increments on a monthly basis in accordance with District policy for full time employees. 9.2 The Superintendent shall submit to the Board a proposed work year calendar each year before July 31. The Superintendent shall notify the Board in advance of any changes he plans to make to his work calendar. The Superintendent shall take vacation during the year in which it is earned, unless the Board gives written approval to carry over unused days. In no event shall the Superintendent accrue more than 22 days of paid vacation at one time. Once the Superintendent has accrued 22 days of unused vacation he shall not earn any more vacation until accrued vacation is used, and then may commence to accrue annual vacation up to the 22 day limit. 9.3 In the event of termination or expiration of this Agreement, the Superintendent shall be entitled to compensation for unused accrued vacation up to a maximum of 22 days at the then current salary rate.
WORK YEAR AND VACATION. Vacation for 12 month Administrators shall be granted each year as follows: 16 working days – up to and including 3 years of service as an administrator 18 working days – after 3 years of service as an administrator 20 working days – after 5 years of service as an administrator Upon employment, new employees will accrue vacation days at a rate of 1/12 the allocated amount listed above for each month of employment. Vacation days will be awarded at the end of each month during the first year of employment. New employees may carryover the entire first year vacation allotment to year 2. For the second and all subsequent years, days will accrue monthly but will be awarded and available for use at the end of the second and subsequent years. The schedule of vacation days will be requested by the individual member of the Association, with approval of the immediate supervisor and the Superintendent. A maximum of half of the annual allocation of vacation days, which are unused, may be carried over to the next school year or summer months as approved by the Superintendent. Under extenuating circumstances, at the discretion of the Superintendent, reimbursement will be allowed for a maximum of five (5) days over and above the carryover allowance. During the summer months of July 1st to August 31st, all administrators covered by this agreement shall have the option of working a four (4) day work week. There must be at least one (1) administrator of the bargaining unit on duty in the district at all times. Time can be accumulated by extending the work day and reducing the lunch period to equal 1-1/2 hours per day. A rotating schedule must be arranged with the Superintendent to verify the specific work hours and lunch periods of the four (4) extended days to allow for the one (1) day off. The administrator must work four (4) days in any week where a four (4) day work week is applicable. Sick days, personal days, vacation days and /or holidays are not considered a day of work for the purposes of this provision. An administrator leaving the district shall be compensated for any and all accrued vacation days on a prorated basis, in accordance with his/her contracted annual salary for each day. All administrators covered by this agreement shall be granted the established holidays and vacation periods as per the school calendar. July 4th shall also be considered a holiday. WORK YEAR AND VACATION. A. The work year for employees employed on a ten (10) month basis shall be one hundred and eighty (180) days. B. All bus drivers shall be required to attend any scheduled in-service training sessions or workshops during each school year. The Board shall determine the number, time and content of said workshops or training sessions, which shall generally be directed toward safer, more efficient operations. All employees attending Board scheduled in-service training sessions or workshops shall be compensated by the Board of Education at their regular hourly rate of pay. Any employee who submits a request and whose request is approved by the Administration, is entitled to one day of job related training per year. He/she shall be compensated by the Board of Education at his/her regular hourly rate of pay.

The work year shall be one hundred eighty-three ( 183) days for all part-time and full-time employees, including Heads of Kitchen-Cooks, CRLS Station Leads-Cooks and Cooks, Cashier/Kitchen Helper, which shall include the school year for students ( one hundred eighty ( 180) days) and two ( 2) days prior to the opening of school, and one ( I) day after the close ofschool. 2. Employees under this Agreement shall be on vacation at the same time and for the same number of days as the students enrolled in various schools except as noted above on work year. Further, employees shall be paid vacation pay in addition to their regular pro-rated pay periods which occur within the requisite school calendar period of one hundred eighty-three ( 183) days. 3. All present vacation days are retained by present members of the Bargaining Unit and all members of the Bargaining Unit (prior to July I, 1988) will be grandfathered with respect to their present vacation days. Effective July I, 1988 all part-time new hires shall receive a prorated number of vacation days as noted below.

Communications and External Affairs shall be entitled to all vacation benefits applicable to 12 month classified management employees as an incident to their employment relationship with the District, currently twenty (20) days per year accrued at .0770 hours per hour worked per month. Communications and External Affairs may carry forward unused vacation into any subsequent year, except that Communications and External Affairs may not accrue more than fifty (50) days of unused vacation at any time. In the event Communications and External Affairs’s employment terminates, the District shall pay them for all accrued but unused vacation at their then-daily rate of pay. The District encourages taking vacation time and the Superintendent has the authority to direct Communications and External Affairs to take vacation in accordance with District policy and procedures.

General Counsel shall be entitled to all vacation benefits applicable to 12 month classified management employees as an incident to their employment relationship with the District, currently twenty four (24) days per year. General Counsel may carry forward unused vacation into any subsequent year, except that General Counsel may not accrue more than permitted by Administrative Regulation 4362.11 (currently set at each management employee’s annual accrual rate plus 10 additional) of unused vacation at any time. In the event General Counsel’s employment terminates, the District shall pay them for all accrued but unused vacation at their then-daily rate of pay. The District encourages taking vacation time and the Superintendent has the authority to direct General Counsel to take vacation in accordance with District policy and procedures.

The Acting Superintendent shall be entitled to twenty (20) working days annual vacation with pay accrued on a monthly basis. All other provisions related to vacation, including the taking, accrual, earning and payment for accrued vacation upon termination, shall be as set forth in the existing Contract.
