GENERAL WAGE PROVISIONS. 18.1 Employees shall be paid according to the wage schedules in Article 19 in the classification to which they are assigned, with credit for years of service within the classification and any credit for industry experience recognized by the Authority at the time of hiring. Employees on salary continuance or pregnancy or parental leave shall have their contract and anniversary increments recognized as being applicable on the scheduled dates provided for in this Agreement. 18.1.1 Temporary employees other than those hired under the UNIFOR/OECA Freelance Agreement may be hired at the start rate in any classification plus six percent (6%) in lieu of vacation. 18.1.2 When an agency is contracted to provide temporary personnel services, rates paid for such services will be competitive. However, it is not the Authority’s intention to pay rates for such services that would undermine the contractual starting rates for similar classifications in the bargaining unit. The Authority further agrees that such contracting of services will not displace or eliminate full-time or regular employees or avoid the hiring of a regular or full-time employee. 18.2 Progression within the salary group from one level to another shall automatically occur at the start of the pay period nearest the employee’s semi-annual or annual anniversary date of appointment, transfer or promotion, to the salary level and group as a result of service within that salary group. Therefore if the anniversary date occurs within the first week of a pay period, the new rate will be applied from the start of that pay period; if the anniversary date occurs within the second week of the pay period, the new rate will be applied from the start of the next pay period. 18.3 A promotion is movement to a higher wage group. When an employee is promoted into a higher pay classification, the employee shall move into the higher salary group on the first day of the next complete pay period and receive a salary increase which would place the employee on the next higher wage step in the new group, and shall automatically progress upward on the annual or semi-annual anniversary date of the promotion. 18.4 Twice the net weekly salary (i.e., salary after a reasonable portion of the total monthly deductions have been made) plus any approved overtime and penalty payments for the preceding pay period will be paid not later than 1200 hours each second Thursday via direct deposit. GENERAL WAGE PROVISIONS. 3.15.1 In connection with placement on the wage matrix, relevant seniority shall be credited up to a maximum of two years. Upon employment, wage seniority shall be granted with up to the same wage grade for relevant experience in the same or higher position within the oil service area. See also Clause 2.6. 3.15.2 New positions that are created shall be entered on the wage table according to advance negotiations between Industry Energy and The Norwegian Oil and Gas Association. The same applies to changes in wage groups. 3.15.3 Wages shall be paid monthly in accordance with the practice in the individual company. 3.15.4 One day's offshore supplement shall be paid for each day the employee has been on the Shelf. Diving technicians do not receive offshore supplement. 3.15.5 Criteria for advancement between the wage groups included in the individual position structure may be agreed upon locally. In the event of advancement, the employee shall be transferred to the nearest pay grade above the person's previous wages. 3.15.6 In the event of temporary assignments to a higher paid position, the higher wages shall be paid as from the first day of the assignment. For positions with individual wage compensation, a local supplement shall be granted. 3.15.7 Seniority advances are granted as per 1 January. Employees hired during the period 1 July – 31 December will be granted seniority advances from the second time they pass the year-end mark. 3.15.8 Positions with wage levels (basic wages + offshore compensation) in excess of the wage matrix shall be compensated in accordance with Section IV of the Agreement. 3.15.9 Per diem for diving technicians is included in the annual wages, and currently amounts to NOK 1,178 per month. 3.15.10 Foreign personnel who carry out work on the Norwegian Shelf shall have the day wages specified in this Agreement for those days that are worked on the Norwegian Shelf. The parties agree that positions that were not previously regarded as being covered under the working hours chapter in legal terms shall be covered under Section III. Changes in classification from management positions entails a substantive change of the position in relation to working hours. The change in working hours shall be reflected in the wages. The position demands a high level of education and technical expertise. Working hours arrangements for the above-mentioned personnel shall not be altered as a result of this entry.

When a pay day coincides with a statutory holiday regular wages shall be paid the day prior. 26.4 An employee will be advised as soon as possible of any changes in his/her time sheets after the employee has submitted them; in which case he/she shall receive a copy of his/her original time sheet showing any change made thereto. 26.5 The rates in the scales in Article 27.1 are minimum rates. Nothing in this Agreement shall prohibit the Company from paying an employee any amount more than the minimum rates. 26.6 For purposes of computation and this Agreement, the basic hourly rate of the employee shall be 1/1950 of the annual salary set forth in Article 27.1. 26.7 Each September 1 and March 1, On-Air Talent (as defined in Article 2.4) shall receive the equivalent of $600 for work related clothing. Effective September 1, 2011 the amount will be increased to $650 and on September 1, 2012 it will be $675. The Company reserves the right to provide such allowance through contra arrangements. Participation in the clothing allowance benefit for eligible employees is optional.

GENERAL WAGE PROVISIONS. (8.01) Employees shall be classified as to job title and experience rating at the time of employment, transfer or promotion, and the Union notified in accordance with Article 23. (8.02) Employees will advance on the wage schedules on the anniversary of their employment, transfer or promotion to a classification. Employees who are paid the salary for an experience classification higher than their actual experience requires shall receive such higher experience rating and thereafter advancement to succeeding salary minimums shall occur on the anniversaries of such upgraded rating. (8.03) The Employer agrees that in determining an employee’s experience rating, experience shall include all employment in comparable work. The comparability of past employment shall be measured in accordance with past practice in the advertising department, recognizing the unique features of the work performed in the Advertising Sales Departments at The Globe and Mail.

Employees promoted in rank more rapidly than their years of employment alone would warrant shall be confirmed in their present positions at the wage scales called for in their respective new classifications and be qualified to enjoy any further progression or advancement that may normally accrue to them. 2. No employee will suffer an actual decrease in weekly pay through adoption of the new salary schedule. 3. An employee who temporarily works in an excluded position shall be paid a premium. Should Management create a new job coming within the jurisdiction of the Guild, it shall furnish the Guild with its proposed job description immediately such is available and the parties shall discuss and agree upon a new schedule of minima before the new job is effective, provided that if there should be no agreement within 10 days of receipt of the job description by the Guild, that this shall not hold up the introduction of the new position and that then the matter of the new schedule of minima would be submitted for settlement by Arbitration under Article 4. New minima shall be effective on the date the new job is effective. 6. The Management at all times recognizes the principle of equal pay for equal work for male and female employees alike. 7. Management agrees that it will maintain a commission arrangement for Advertising Salespersons and a bonus arrangement for Circulation District Managers in effect and no changes will be made in such arrangement without prior discussion with the employees involved. 8.
