Meal Periods & Rest Breaks. (a) An employee working a shift of four (4) hours shall be given one (1) rest break not to exceed fifteen (15) minutes. (b) An employee working a shift of more than five (5) hours but less than seven (7) hours will have one (1) rest break not to exceed fifteen (15) minutes and one (1) meal period without pay. (c) An employee working a shift of seven (7) hours or more will have two (2) rest breaks not to exceed fifteen (15) minutes each and one (1) meal period without pay. (d) Meal periods shall not be shorter than one half (1/2) hour, nor longer than one (1) hour. Meal periods shall not commence earlier than three (3) hours nor more than five (5) hours after the start of the employee’s shift without mutual agreement. (e) Employees shall not be required to take their rest break sooner than one (1) hour after start of shift or return from a meal period not later than one (1) hour before a meal period or end of shift. The Co-operative will endeavour to schedule rest breaks as near mid shift as possible. (f) Any employee abusing the above privileges shall be subject to discipline as determined by the Co-operative. (g) Rest breaks shall be with pay. Meal periods shall be without pay. Where time clocks are provided, employees are required to punch out for meal periods. Employees shall not punch out for rest breaks. Breaks and meal times should be uninterrupted. Employees who do not receive a fifteen (15) minute rest period due to the requirements of the business, shall receive an additional fifteen (15) minutes pay at their regular hourly rate. (h) Any employee requested to work overtime immediately after an eight (8) hour shift shall be entitled to another rest break to commence at the beginning of the overtime, if the overtime will be for a period of more than two (2) hours.
Meal Periods & Rest Breaks. An employee unable to be relieved from work for a meal break shall be allowed to have a meal on duty and this period shall be regarded as working time. Where an employee is not allowed to have a meal on duty as above, an employee unable to take a meal after five hours' duty shall be paid at time half rate in addition to normal salary from the expiry of five hours until the time when a meal can be taken. Except that on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays an employee shall be paid at time half (T1/2) in addition to normal salary. Meal Periods & Rest Breaks. The following shall apply to non-exempt Production Employees. i. Duty-free meal periods shall be not less than one-half (½) hour nor more than one (1) hour in length. Not more than one (1) meal period shall be deducted from work time for an employee during an eight (8) hour day. A second meal period may be deducted from work time for those employees who work in excess of eight (8) hours. ii. The employee’s first meal period should be taken within six (6) hours following the employee’s start time; succeeding meal periods for the same employee should be taken within six (6) hours after the end of the preceding meal period. Employees are entitled to take a 10-minute rest period for every four hours of work, or major fraction thereof, which shall count as time worked. In the event an employee believes their workload for a specific day would not allow them to take a rest period, said employee shall notify their immediate supervisor of the problem, in writing. v. If the Union believes that the Producer is not providing employees with the opportunity to take required meal periods and rest breaks in accordance with applicable laws, the Union may request a meeting with Producer and the parties shall promptly meet and shall work together to ensure that employees are able to take their meal periods and rest breaks.

Payment for such vacation shall be in the amount equal to four percent of the wages paid that employee during the year in which he qualifies for such vacation, or who have completed three years of continuous service with the Company shall receive in the next succeeding year of employment, and each year thereafter, three weeks of vacation, with pay in an amount equal to six percent of the wages paid that employee during the year in which he qualified for such vacation, or Who have completed ten years of continuous service with the Company, shall receive in the next succeeding year, and each year thereafter, four weeks of vacation, with pay in an amount equal to eight percent of the wages paid that employee during the year in which he qualified for such vacation. Effective date of ratification, all regular full-time employees who were regular full-time employees as at April and have completed fifteen years of continuous service with the Company shall receive in the next succeeding year of employment, and each year thereafter, five weeks vacation, with pay in an amount equal to ten percent of the wages paid that employee during the year in which he qualified for such vacation. Employees hired after April I’, will not be eligible for this benefit. The choice of vacation period shall be according to seniority provided it does not conflict with management’s obligation to maintain an efficient working force.   • MEAL PERIODS AND REST BREAKS 4.1 Except when required for urgent or emergency work and except as provided in 4.2 no employee shall be required to work for more than five hours continuously without being allowed a meal break of not less than half an hour. 4.2 An employee unable to be relieved from work for a meal break shall be allowed to have a meal on duty and this period shall be regarded as working time. 4.3 Except where provided for in 4.2 an employee unable to take a meal after five hours’ duty shall be paid at overtime rates from the expiry of five hours until the time when a meal can be taken. 4.4 During the meal break or rest breaks prescribed above, free tea, coffee, milk and sugar shall be supplied by the employer.   • Rest Breaks Employees shall receive a fifteen (15) minute break during each four (4) hours worked. It is the Employer's intention to provide uninterrupted rest breaks.

  • Meal Periods (a) Meal periods shall be scheduled as close as possible to the middle of the scheduled hours of work. The length of the meal period shall be agreed to at the local level and shall be not less than 30 minutes nor more than 60 minutes. (b) An employee shall be entitled to take their meal period away from the workstation. Where this cannot be done, the meal period shall be considered as time worked.

  • Limitation Periods To the extent that any limitation period applies to any claim for payment of the Obligations or remedy for enforcement of the Obligations, the Obligor agrees that: (a) any limitation period is expressly excluded and waived entirely if permitted by applicable law; (b) if a complete exclusion and waiver of any limitation period is not permitted by applicable law, any limitation period is extended to the maximum length permitted by applicable law; (c) any applicable limitation period shall not begin before an express demand for payment of the Obligations is made in writing by the Credit Union to the Obligor; and (d) any applicable limitation period shall begin afresh upon any payment or other acknowledgment of the Obligations by the Obligor.

  • Meal Period A Contractor shall schedule an unpaid period of not more than 1/2 hour duration at the work location between the 3rd and 5th hour of the scheduled shift. A Contractor may, for efficiency of operation, establish a schedule which coordinates the meal periods of two or more crafts. If an employee is required to work through the meal period, the employee shall be compensated in a manner established in the applicable Schedule A.

  • Retention Periods Documentation which serves as evidence of orderly and proper data processing must be retained by ATOSS in accordance with the applicable statutory retention periods beyond the end of the contract. To relieve itself of this obligation, ATOSS may turn said documentation over to the Customer at the end of the contract.

  • Break Periods ‌ There will be no rest periods, organized coffee breaks or other non-working time established during working hours. Individual coffee containers will be permitted at the employee’s work location. Where 4/10s are being worked there shall be a morning and an afternoon coffee break.

  • Rest Break (a) An employee working overtime must be allowed a rest break of 20 minutes without deduction of pay after each four hours of overtime worked if the employee is to continue work after the rest break. (b) Where a day worker is required to work overtime on a Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday or on a rostered day off, the first rest break will be paid at the employee's ordinary rate of pay.

  • Vacation Periods Vacation schedules will be set by the employee’s immediate supervisor(s) and sent to the Office of Human Resources for approval. Employees may request a particular period for vacation. Vacation days may not be taken in advance of their accrual. Those employees who are on a 12-month teacher contract are paid during Spring Break and Winter Recess, however, are not expected to be in attendance or perform duties during those breaks.

  • Probationary Periods Employees transferring to a different title will serve a six (6) calendar month probationary period. In the event the probationary period is not satisfactorily completed, the affected employee shall be returned to Job Bank assignment and the employee’s “bumping”, layoff or transfer rights under the Agreement or other applicable authority shall be restored to the same extent such rights existed prior to the employee taking the probationary position. Upon the affected employee’s first such return to the Job Bank, the employee shall be entitled to remain in the Job Bank for the greater of ten (10) business days, or the duration of the applicable Job Bank period, as determined under Article I, paragraph 2, that remained as of the date the employee began in the probationary position. The rate of compensation for the remainder of the employee’s time in the Job Bank will be the same as the rate in effect as of the employee’s last day in the probationary position. Return to the Job Bank terminates the employee’s work in the probationary assignment and, therefore, time served following the return to the Job Bank shall not be construed to count toward the completion of the probationary period.
