On Call/Call Back. A. Some University departments maintain formal on-call systems in order to cover off- hour shifts or to assure appropriate response to incidents and emergencies which occur at night or on weekends. Professional staff are assigned specific periods of duty, must be available during assigned duty, and must respond when called. For these situations, on-call and call-back shall be considered a single entity. A salary adjustment shall be made to acknowledge the additional expectation of serving regularly as part of a formal on-call/call- back system. Compensatory time for call-back shall be approved by the supervisor only in those instances when the employee must respond to a situation that requires work for a prolonged period of time (i.e., several hours during a night). The supervisor's discretion prevails in these cases. B. A department which does not maintain a regular and on-going on-call system may set its own policy for compensating bargaining unit members who are occasionally assigned, in writing, to be on call, but in no case shall a bargaining unit member receive less than one hour of compensatory time for every 8 hours assigned to be on call. C. In departments without formal on-call systems, for every hour that a bargaining unit member on-call is called back to work beyond his or her regularly scheduled work hours the bargaining unit member shall receive an hour of compensatory time. D. On-Call/Call-Back Compensation Methodology 1. Summary Where a formal on-call/call back system is utilized, a lump sum amount of money will be added to the annual base salary of all participants in such a formal system which compensates the participants for both on-call and call back responsibilities except in those instances where the employee must respond to a situation that requires work for a prolonged period of time. The supervisor's discretion prevails in these cases. Said lump sum of money added to the annual salary will remain as part of the salary for as long as the employee is required to participate in the on-call/call back system. The amount of money to be added to the employee's base salary is calculated by adding a flat amount to the First Quartile of the Salary Administration Program Level for the title. On Call/Call Back. Section 1. Employees shall be paid one (1) hour of pay at the regular straight time rate for each six (6) hours of assigned on-call duty. Employees who are assigned on-call duty for less than six (6) hours shall be paid on a prorated basis. Section 2. An employee shall be on on-call duty when required to be available for work outside his/her normal working hours and meet all the following conditions: 1) The Employee is required to leave word with the Agency where he/she can be contacted during a specified period of time, or pager, and 2) The employee is required and must be prepared to immediately commence full time work if the need arises. Section 3. An employee shall not be on on-call time once he/she actually commences performing assigned duties and receives the appropriate rate of pay for time worked. Section 4. No employee is eligible for any premium pay compensation while on on-call duty except as expressly stated in this Article. Section 5. On-call duty time shall not be counted as time worked in the computation of overtime compensation. Section 6. An employee who is called back to work outside his/her regular shift, will receive the appropriate rate of compensation in accordance with this Agreement for hours actually worked, but in no event will the employee be paid less than two (2) hours at the straight time rate of pay. Section 7. This provision will not apply when call back results from employee oversight (e.g., taking home necessary keys, equipment necessary at the campus, etc.). This provision does not prevent the Agency from calling employees for information not requiring call back. The employees would not be required to remain at home or available unless on on-call status.
On Call/Call Back. 15.1 “On call” assignment shall be defined as any time when management has instructed an employee, in writing, to remain available to work during an off-duty period. An employee who is so instructed shall be required to leave word where they may be reached by telephone or by other electronic signal device in order to be able to return to work on short notice. 15.2 An employee who is required to be on call shall be compensated by payment of one ($1.00) dollar per hour for each hour such employee is required to be on call. On call hours shall not be counted in computing overtime. 15.3 An employee who is required to be on call on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday will be compensated by payment equal to one fourth (1/4) of the University’s hourly minimum for the employee’s class for each hour the employee is required to be on call. 15.4 If an employee is called back to perform work beyond the employee’s scheduled hours of work for that day, the employee will be credited with the greater of the actual time worked, including time to and from the employee’s home to the assigned work location, or four (4) hours. Call back time shall be considered overtime and paid at the employee’s overtime rate. A. If an employee is subpoenaed to appear as a witness in a job related court case (whether for deposition or trial), outside the employee’s regular scheduled assigned shift, the employee shall have the option of accepting the witness fee, or be compensated at the applicable rate for all hours spent in attendance (including time to and from the employee’s home), or a minimum of four (4) hours, whichever is greater. B. If an employee is required to file a job related criminal case with the State Attorney’s Office outside the employee’s regular scheduled assigned shift, the employee shall be compensated at the applicable rate for all hours spent in attendance (including time to and from the employee’s home), or a minimum of one (1) hour, whichever is greater. 15.6 Any employee who is subpoenaed to appear as a witness or is required to attend any job related court proceeding during the officer’s scheduled vacation period, shall be granted overtime compensatory time and the vacation time will not be lost by the employee.

On Call/Call Back. 14.01 Employees agree to participate in the on-call rotation as scheduled by the Company. a) Employees on call will receive a stand-by fee of $30.00 per day for Monday to Friday and $50.00 per day for Saturday and Sunday. b) An employee who is scheduled to be on call and is recalled to work shall be paid at the appropriate overtime rate for all hours actually worked, or for four (4) hours at the appropriate overtime rate, whichever is greater for work performed on each call back. Should an employee complete the call back prior to the expiry of the four hour period, any additional call back required to be performed during this two hour period shall not be considered as a separate call back and the four hour minimum shall not apply. Furthermore, the minimum guarantee of four (4) hours shall not be applicable if the employee is called back to work within four (4) hours of the next scheduled shift.
On Call/Call Back. The Senior Inspector will be on-call for one (1) week intervals beginning at 0800 hours on a Wednesday and continuing until 0800 hours the following Wednesday. During the on-call interval, the employee must be ready to immediately report for duty and must arrange so that a supervisor can reach the employee within ten (10) minutes or less. A County vehicle may be used and driven home during the on-call interval, and must be used in compliance with the County Vehicle Use Policy. Inspectors of all classes, whether or not on-call, may be called out to an incident after normal working hours, and may be required to respond in their personal vehicle. If an employee uses their personal vehicle they shall be reimbursed per Section 31 – Mileage, of this MOU. Any employee called out to an incident after normal work hours shall receive overtime or compensatory time at the appropriate rate for actual hours worked plus one (1) hour. An employee who is called back after normal working hours shall be paid a minimum of two (2) hours at the appropriate rate for each call back. Employees who are assigned in writing to on-call status will be compensated at the rate of two hundred seventy-two dollars and fifty cents ($272.50) per week.

On Call/Call Back. (a) Where an employee is instructed to be on call during normal off duty hours, an on call allowance of $4.04 per hour for weekdays and weekends, and $6.06 per hour on public holidays effective from 4 March 2019 shall be paid for each hour the employee is on call. (b) In the interests of healthy rostering practices, the parties agree that the allocation of on-call time should be spread as evenly as practicable amongst those required to participate in an on-call roster. (c) An employee shall be paid for a minimum of two hours or for actual working and travelling time, whichever is the greater, when the employee is called back to perform work after completing a duty and having left the place of work or is called back before the normal time of starting a duty and does not continue working until such normal starting time , except that: Call backs commencing and finishing within the minimum period covered by an earlier call back shall not be paid for. On Call/Call Back. 17.01 On-call duty shall mean any period during which a Regular Employee is not working but during which the Employee is required by the Employer to be readily available to respond without undue delay to any request to report for work. 17.02 For each assigned hour of authorized On-Call duty, a Regular Employee shall be paid the sum of one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour; 17.03 A Regular Employee who is called back to work during the On-Call period shall not be paid for those hours worked during the On-Call period in accordance with Article 17. 17.04 A Regular Employee who is called back and required to return to work outside of their regular hours shall be paid the applicable rate, with a minimum of three (3) hours.
