Recognition of Union Representatives. The Administration shall recognize the Grievance Chairperson or his designee as the Union representative for grievances. The Union will advise the Executive Director of Human Resources of the name of the Grievance Chairperson and any changes.
Recognition of Union Representatives. The Employer will recognize individuals and/or employees elected, appointed or designated by the Union as a representative. In doing so the Union will notify the Employer in writing of the duties and responsibilities of each of the individuals or employees concerned and will keep the Employer current should changes occur.

Recognition of Union Representatives. The Union shall appoint from among the employees, and the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards. The duties of the Shop Stewards shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances, representing employees in disciplinary procedures, and disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employees. The Employer agrees to recognize duly appointed or elected Shop Stewards and the Unit Chair provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. The necessary time which is spent by Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving routine grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. Xxxxxxxx requested to attend a meeting on their days off shall be paid at the applicable collective agreement rates. Shop Stewards and other Union officials will not absent themselves from their work to deal with grievances without first obtaining permission of the Employer. Permission will not be unreasonably withheld. The Employer shall introduce new employees to their Shop Xxxxxxx. If there is a training class, the Unit Chair or designate shall be afforded an opportunity to speak on the CAW structure and on the Collective April to March Agreement. The time allocated for this purpose shall be fifteen (15) minutes. The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the performance of their duties on behalf of the Union. The Employer shall recognize representativesfrom the Local and National Union in discussing all matters related to the bargaining unit. Employees representing the Union shall be granted short term leaves of absence of twenty-two (22) working days or less, in order to carry out their Union duties. Such leaves of absence shall be granted, insofar as the regular operations of their department shall permit, and the application shall be given precedence over any other leave of absence application received on the same day. Members of the Negotiating Committee who are not performing their regular duties, but who are meeting with the Company and being paid by the Union, shall have such time classified as "in service'' time for the purposes of calculating eligibility for Statutory Holiday pay. Recognition of Union Representatives. Union representatives shall be recognized in discussing any grievance or complaint of any employee. Employees shall have the right to request and have the presence of the Shop Xxxxxxx or Union representative of his/her choosing as is practical in any such discussion. Appropriate meeting arrangements shall be made for all parties concerned.

Union representatives will be released from work in paid time to attend union business in accordance with the following: (a) up to three (3) days per calendar year to be shared by the two appointed representatives to attend training facilitated by the Union to increase awareness and knowledge of workplace issues and/or consultative mechanisms and/or statutory entitlements and obligations, which will contribute to a more productive, aware and harmonious workplace environment; or (b) up to three (3) days leave to be shared by two representatives to attend the NSWNMA Annual Conference; (c) a minimum of four (4) weeks’ written notice, or less by agreement, must be provided to the Employer of a request to attend such union business. The notice must specify the time and nature of the union business; and (d) subject to operational requirements, the Employer shall not unreasonably refuse such a request. 50.4. A union representative will be provided with reasonable access to telephone, internet, email, facsimile, photocopying, notice boards and meeting facilities (where available) for the purpose of carrying out work as a Union representative.
