Recognition of Union RepresentativesThe Administration shall recognize the Grievance Chairperson or his designee as the Union representative for grievances. The Union will advise the Executive Director of Human Resources of the name of the Grievance Chairperson and any changes.
Recognition of Union RepresentativesThe Employer will recognize individuals and/or employees elected, appointed or designated by the Union as a representative. In doing so the Union will notify the Employer in writing of the duties and responsibilities of each of the individuals or employees concerned and will keep the Employer current should changes occur.
Recognition of Union Representatives. (A) The UNION will select their officers and stewards per their UNION procedures. The elected stewards and alternate stewards will not exceed a maximum of 15. The UNION will notify management promptly of all elected officers and stewards after each UNION election. Management will recognize all duly elected UNION officers and stewards of AFSCME Local 1217. If there is a training class, the Unit Chair or designate shall be afforded an opportunity to speak on the CAW structure and on the Collective Agreement. The Employer shall recognize representatives from the Local and National Union in discussing all matters related to the bargaining unit. Employees representing the Union shall be granted short term leaves of absence of (22) working days or less, in order to carry out their Union duties. Such leaves of absence shall be granted, insofar as the regular operations of their department shall permit, and the application shall be given precedence over any other leave of absence application received on the same day. Recognition of Union RepresentativesUnion representatives shall be recognized in discussing any grievance or complaint of any employee. Employees shall have the right to request and have the presence of the Shop Xxxxxxx or Union representative of his/her choosing as is practical in any such discussion. Appropriate meeting arrangements shall be made for all parties concerned.
