Sick Leave – Accumulative. Sick leave for above shall be accumulative. That is, all days of annual sick leave not utilized during a contract year shall accumulate to the employee’s benefit. On or before August 1st each year, every administrator shall be provided with a written statement of the amount of accumulated sick leave credited to that administrator as of February 1 of that year.

Sick Leave – Accumulative. A. Each employee will be granted twelve (12) days annually for sick leave. Any unused sick leave allowance shall be accumulated without limitation. Employees may exercise an option to receive remuneration in a timely manner for unused leave for illness or injury accumulated in the previous year in accordance with state law at a rate equal to one day’s monetary compensation of the employee for each four (4) full days of accrued leave for illness or injury in excess of sixty days. Upon retirement or death an employee or the employee's estate shall receive remuneration in a timely manner and in accordance with state law at a rate equal to one day’s current monetary compensation of the employee for each four full days accrued leave for illness or injury.
Sick Leave – Accumulative. All full-time employees shall be entitled to eleven (11) sick leave days each school year as of the first official day of said school year whether or not they report for duty on that day. Commencing September 30th, this shall be pro-rated for newly hired employees. Unused sick leave days shall be accumulated from year to year with no maximum limit. Part-time unit members shall receive this benefit pro-rata. Each employee shall be allowed one family sick day each school year. Family sick days shall not accumulate from year to year.
Sick Leave – Accumulative. A certificated employee shall be granted twelve (12) days annually for sick leave. These days will be frontloaded. Any unused sick leave shall be accumulated up to 180 days (as measured on January 1 each year). Employees shall be compensated annually and/or upon retirement or death for unused sick leave credits in a timely manner and in accordance with District policies and the laws of the State of Washington. One (1) day of sick leave is defined as being equal to the employee's regular contract day. Accumulated days of sick leave may be used when a certificated employee has a personal illness, including physical or mental conditions, which incapacitates the employee from performing their contracted duties. Sick leave may be used for illness, injury or birth in the employee’s immediate family or household. Following childbirth or adoption, sick leave may also be used for care of a newborn (or adoptee) or spouse who gave birth, provided the need for the employee’s care is verified by the treating physician. For each day's absence due to personal illness in excess of the accumulated sick leave allowance, deduction of the per diem rate shall be made. A doctor's certificate may be requested from an employee by the Human Resources Office after five (5) days of absence. Accumulated sick leave days shall be reported to each certificated employee on payroll dates. Unused sick leave shall be transferred to and/or received from other public school districts in the State of Washington. Accumulated sick leave shall be retained by an employee in accordance with State law. The District shall provide to each certificated employee information for requesting a substitute, (i.e., phone number and assignment information). A certificated employee shall notify the building administrator of the absence as soon as practical. Each January each eligible employee may elect to receive remuneration of unused sick leave accumulated in the previous calendar year. Each year during the annual sick leave buy-out period, all employees will be reminded of the limits on the number of accumulated sick leave days and the consequences of not participating in the annual sick leave buy-out.
