This is a day to be provided is to be arranged between the Employer and the employee to be taken on a mutually agreeable date during the fiscal year in which it is granted. In the event that some other day is proclaimed as a Statutory Holiday, such day shall be substituted for this "float" day. Those employees who have taken said "float" day prior to the proclamationshall be deemed to have taken the newly proclaimed day. Subject to Article where a Public Holiday falls on a non-working day, the employee shall be given another working day off (lieu day) with pay, or, if the employee agrees, the Employer will pay the employee the regular wage for the Public Holiday. If an employee does not have a lieu day and works on a Public Holiday, the employee must be paid at least time and one-half (I the regular rate for those hours worked, in addition to the employee's regular day's pay for that Public Holiday. The following Statutory and Paid Holidays will be recognized as holidays on the days they are officially observed: New Day Good Friday Victoria Day Dominion Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Boxing Day In order to qualify for a Holiday with pay an employee must have completed probationary period, have earned wages on at least twelve (12) days during the four (4) weeks immediately preceding the Holiday and have worked scheduled working shift immediately prior to and following the Holiday unless is absent due to scheduled vacation. Employees who fail to report for work on a Holiday when scheduled to do so will not be paid for the Holiday. Employees required to work on any of the above-mentioned Holidays will be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1 of their regular straight time hourly rate for all hours worked on such Holiday and in addition, will receive another day off with pay or a pay (if the employee qualifies under Article above) at the discretion of management. The number of hours pay or the number of hours off with pay will be calculated based on the normal hours of the employee. Qualification for and calculation of Public Holiday pay will be in accordance with the provision of Public Holidays section of the Employment Standards Act.
