Employment and Assignment. 5.1 All teachers on duty as of June 1 will be given written notice of their salary and tentative school assignment for the forthcoming school year not later than June 15, or within two (2) weeks following budget approval by the fiscal authorities, whichever is later.
5.2 The principal will notify teachers in writing of their projected class and course assignment by the end of the school year. All teachers reporting on and after June 1 of any calendar year will be assigned for the ensuing school year and notified as soon as feasible. In the event that changes in class and/or course assignments are made after the end of the school year, all teachers affected will be notified promptly in writing.
5.3 Reasonable effort shall be made to assign teachers to subjects or grades or other classes within the scope of their teaching certificates or their major or minor fields of study. If teachers holding professional certificates are assigned to subjects or grades or other classes outside the scope of their teaching certificate or their major or minor fields of study, they shall be notified promptly in writing following the decision, stating the reason(s) for the assignment.
5.4 In arranging schedules for teachers who are assigned to more than one (1) school, an effort will be made to limit the amount of inter-school travel. Teachers shall be notified of any change in their schedules as soon as practicable. Reasonable effort will be made to provide sufficient time for travel, arrival, and departure.
5.5 A. A notice of initial vacancies for summer school, evening high school, mentor program, and other county-wide programs as authorized by the Superintendent shall be posted on Calvertnet at least two (2) weeks before interviews for these vacancies begin. When a vacancy is posted on Calvertnet, an email notice shall be sent to all staff. The Association shall receive an email notice when a vacancy is posted on Calvertnet.
Employment and Assignment. 5.1 The Superintendent or designated representatives shall determine all educational support staff positions and appoint educational support staff to carry out the mission of the Board of Education. They shall assign employees to positions as deemed necessary and transfer them as required subject to the terms and conditions of this agreement and to the provisions of the Public School Laws of Maryland.
5.2 An employee who is transferred to a position of the same job type shall be paid at not less than the rate held at the time of transfer.
5.3 Should an employee request a transfer to a lower paying position, his/her rate of pay in the new position shall be based on the index the employee was on in his/her previous assignment. This index shall be applied to the new lower salary scale.
5.4 Job-related experience must be verifiable and shall be awarded at the discretion of the Superintendent or designee. Credit will be given for no more than ten (10) years of verifiable experience for employees hired after June 30, 1995.
5.5 An employee who is required to perform the duties of a higher paying position for five (5) or more non-consecutive full workdays in the same assignment within a consecutive two week period, shall be paid at one and one-half (1 1/2) times the employee’s hourly rate not to exceed the rate of pay for the higher paying position. This pay differential shall be backdated to the first day of coverage.
5.6 While first ensuring adequate staff coverage and a safe working environment, the administrator/supervisor or designee will work with employees to provide reasonable time each day for employees to address personal needs and provide a respite from their duties.
5.7 Except for emergencies, no Instructional Assistant and In-School Intervention Assistant shall be required to substitute for a teacher. Emergency shall refer to a condition or situation which could not have been anticipated under normal circumstances.
Employment and Assignment. 336 14.1 New employees will be placed on probationary status for the first 80 working days of 337 employment. During this time they will have an opportunity to demonstrate their 338 competence for a particular job. At the end of the probationary period the supervisor may 339 perform an evaluation. If their performance is not satisfactory the District may consider 340 reassignment or termination. 341 14.2 Reclassification of personnel is a District right and is the responsibility of the 342 Superintendent. A request for reclassification or job description change may be submitted, 343 through the Association, by any classified employee. The Superintendent shall approve or 344 deny the change within ten (10) working days and notify, in writing, the employee and the 345 Association of the decision. If an employee’s job description is changed, the employee’s wage shall be subject to renegotiation. The Superintendent shall notify the Association President of any change in job description. The District shall provide each classified employee represented by the provisions of this contract with a job description that outlines the major duties and responsibilities of each employee in the unit. This job description shall be given to the employee upon employment, or as soon as it is available. The District will also provide a calendar of workdays. Days marked off on the calendar shall indicate regular work days. All classified bargaining unit jobs will be posted both internally and externally simultaneously. Any qualified bargaining unit in-house candidate who applies will be granted an interview. When an employee is promoted or reclassified to a higher paying position, the employee shall be moved to the step on the new wage schedule as he/she held in the former position. When an employee transfers to a lower paying position the employee shall be placed on the same step (on corresponding years) on the new wage schedule as he/she held in the former position. Number of years of service will be based on date of hire in all regular full time (6 hours per day or more) and part time classified positions. Extra duty or substitute positions will not be considered in determining year of service for placement on the wage schedule. Employment and Assignment i. Drivers shall be employed on a three (3) year probation basis, after having met all the requirements: legal, medical and physical. The completion of an approved course in bus driver training shall be a requirement for employment. Drivers’ employment will continue without interruption after three (3) years’ service until the driver resigns, retires, or is terminated.
ii. The Supervisor of Transportation shall assign trips to buses. No driver shall receive a fifth (5th) trip until all other drivers have four (4). No driver shall be paid for more than the actual number of trips he/she drives. This does not apply to longer trips counted as more than one (1). Midday runs shall be bid separately from the regular trips. When another bus becomes available for bid in line of seniority, a driver of midday may bid for the bus taking midday with him/her. When a bus with four (4) trips in succession becomes available, the driver must forfeit midday. Midday will be compensated at the driver’s hourly rate for up to two (2) hours. Regular drivers will be permitted to substitute on midday routes by placing their name on the midday substitute list at the beginning of the school year or during winter break and will be called in order of seniority rotation. This midday list will be available for sign-up for five (5) working days.
iii. Drivers will be notified by the Supervisor of Transportation, at least ten (10) days in advance, to appear and make their choice of bus routes in line of seniority. Route(s) shall be defined as a combination of all regular runs. (Example: high school, elementary, middle school and intermediate school runs.) Such choices are to be made the second week in August and will be effective for one (1) school year, except in case of emergency or necessity as determined by the Supervisor of Transportation and the Superintendent or his/her representative. A pre-school meeting may be held no less than (10) days or more than thirty (30) days prior to the opening of school. Principals will be invited to the pre-school meeting along with the Union President. Bus routes, including midday routes, will be made available for driver review no less than one (1) week prior to route bidding. Drivers awarded midday runs shall not be permitted to accept extra trips that will interfere with midday responsibility. However, the driver may accept the extra trip according to the seniority roster and trade it to another driver.

Employment and Assignment. This Agreement is made between the Company, as employer, and the Employee, a U.S. Citizen and resident, and replaces and voids any and all prior employment agreements made between the Company and Employee. The parties agree that Employee will be seconded to D2PC to work in its Paris, France offices and acting in collaboration with Xxxxx X. Xxxxx, the Company's chief executive officer ("CEO"). In consideration of his continued employment by the Company, Employee agrees to discharge faithfully, diligently, and to the best of his ability, the responsibilities of any position assigned during his employment. Employee will be supervised, directed and evaluated by the Company's CEO and the Board of Managers of CTE (the "Board") and the Board shall be solely responsible for any decisions concerning discipline, termination and pay increases. This Agreement shall commence as of the Effective Date (as set forth in Section 16) for an indefinite period subject to termination as specified in Section 5. Employment and Assignment. 1. The Board agrees to hire only certificated personnel holding professional certificates issued by the Florida Department of Education for every teaching assignment.
2. Employees should only be assigned to teach in areas for which they hold credentials issued by the Florida Department of Education. In emergency situations the above provisions may be modified by agreement of the teacher and administrator involved.
3. Employees’ tentative class and/or subject assignments should be available two (2) weeks prior to the first (1st) semester and two (2) weeks prior to the second (2nd) semester for any schedule changes. The individual employee will be given notice in writing upon request.

Employment and Assignment. EPD agrees to employ one (1) DLO during the term of this agreement. The DLO shall be an employee of the police department and shall be subject to the administration, supervision, and control of the EPD. EPD agrees to provide and to pay the DLO salary and employment benefits in accordance with the applicable salary schedules and employment practices of the police department, including but not necessarily limited to sick leave, annual leave, retirement compensation, disability salary compensation, unemployment compensation, life insurance, dental insurance, and medical/hospitalization insurance. The DLO shall be subject to all other personnel policies and practices of the police department except as such policies or practices may have to be modified to comply with the terms and conditions of the Agreement. EPD, in its sole discretion, shall have the power and authority to hire, discharge, and discipline the DLO. The police department shall hold EWSD free, harmless, and indemnified from and against any and all claims, suits, or causes of action arising out of allegations of unfair or unlawful employment practices brought by the DLO (see indemnification). In the event a DLO is absent from work, the DLO shall notify both his supervisor at the EPD and the EWSD’s Director of Facilities & District Safety.
