Extended Work Hours. An employee who has worked sixteen (16) hours or more in a twenty-four (24) hour period, or eight (8) hours or more overtime in the sixteen (16) hour period immediately preceding his/her basic workday, shall, upon release, be entitled to an eight (8) hour rest period before he/she returns to work.
(a) If an employee is called back to work without completing his/her eight (8) hour rest period, he/she shall be compensated at the rate of one and one half (1 ½) times his/her regular rate of pay for all hours worked commencing from the time he/she reports back to work and ending when he/she is released for another eight (8) hour rest period.
(b) If the rest period under this Article extends into the employee’s basic workday, the employee will be compensated for the rest hours that fall within the employee’s basic workday. If the employee’s normal lunch break or part thereof occurs during the rest period, the normal lunch period shall not be included as part of the eight (8) hour rest period.
(c) Paid rest time shall not be considered as time worked for calculating overtime pay.
(d) If the end of the employee’s rest period falls within two (2) hours of the end of the employee’s basic workday, the employee’s manager has sole discretion to release the employee without loss of pay for the remainder of the workday.

Extended Work Hours. In order to provide medical services in an efficient manner, HHSA has established a twelve-hour work shift for the following classifications, on an assigned basis, which is based on the needs of the work location in which assigned: Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Health Aide, and Clerk.
1) All staff assigned to work on these teams will work three (3) twelve (12) hour days for a total of thirty- six hours per week.
2) Employees working this schedule will be paid for forty (40) hours.
3) HHSA will solicit qualified volunteers to work this extended schedule, but the department reserves the right to decline an offer from an employee to volunteer for an extended hours schedule. Should there be insufficient volunteers to maintain adequate coverage at a given work location, staff will be assigned to the schedule with consideration given to seniority, workload, and departmental needs.
4) Once an employee is assigned to an extended hours schedule, this will be their regular work assignment. Employees may request to be added to or removed from an extended hours schedule effective the beginning of each calendar quarter. Once assigned to the extended hours schedule, employees must work that schedule for the entire quarter. The department reserves the right to remove an employee from an extended hours schedule.
Extended Work Hours. Projects requiring additional work hours on a daily basis will first be offered to employees working on the project during regular hours, and then to other qualified employees.
Extended Work Hours. (a) An “extended shift” is intended to mean a daily tour of duty exclusive of overtime hours to equal twelve point zero (12.0) hours.
(b) “Night Shift” shall be from 1900 hours to 0700 hours the following morning.
(c) “Day Shift” shall be from 0700 hours to 1900 hours the same day.
(d) There shall be two (2) unpaid meal periods of thirty (30) minutes each during the extended shift.
(e) There shall be three (3) paid rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes each during the extended shift.
(f) Schedules shall provide:
a. at least twelve (12) hours off between shifts;
b. no more than four (4) consecutive extended shifts;
c. at least two (2) consecutive days of rest;
d. at least twenty-two point five (22.5) hours off duty between shift change-over between extended shifts; and
e. at least one (1) weekend off in three (3) averaged over an Employee’s shift rotation.
(g) Approved deviation from the posted schedule which results from an Employee initiating an exchange of shifts with other qualified Employees shall not increase the cost to the Employer.
(h) Employees shall be paid at a rate of two times (2x) the Employee’s basic hourly rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of the regular hours of work for the extended work day (12.0 hours), or in excess of four consecutive shifts.
(i) The annual vacation entitlement that an Employee receives under the extended work day schedule shall correspond exactly in hours to the vacation entitlement of a 7.75 hours schedule. All other matters pertaining to annual vacation shall be pursuant to the Collective Agreement.
(j) For full-time Employees, the one (1) day off with pay or payment in lieu of Paid Holidays referred to in the Collective Agreement shall be paid at 7.75 hours per Named Holiday, and in no instance shall a full-time Employee be paid in excess of ninety-three (93) hours annually for such Paid Holiday benefit.
(k) A casual Employee may be called for an extended work day. Where the casual Employee is assigned to replace another Employee in a regularly scheduled extended work day shift or position within the bargaining for a period of three (3) months or less, the hours in the extended workday will not be regarded as overtime.
(l) The Union and the Employer acknowledge and confirm that, with the exception of the foregoing amendments, all other terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement shall remain in full force and effect between the Parties.
Extended Work Hours. Extended Work Hours. Bargaining unit members, except as noted below, shall be paid overtime in accordance with applicable state and federal laws. All professionals at grid 710 and above understand that the nature of their responsibility may from time to time require them to work more than their normal work hours to complete their duties. It is understood that when these bargaining unit members are required to work beyond their regular work hours they will do so without additional compensation. If they are required to work on non-work days they shall be eligible for additional compensation at a per diem rate or off-setting additional vacation time with pre-approval.
Extended Work Hours. Employees who need to work additional hours above their set schedule during the work week due to time lost for inclement weather are required to get prior approval from their supervisor.
Extended Work Hours. In order to protect both Teamsters members and the motoring public, the following policy will be adhered to when plowing snow: During extended-duration snow events, each employee may operate City-owned equipment for up to 16 hours in a 24 hour period. This time frame includes the 8 hours in the regularly scheduled work day, it is not 8 hours of regular work plus 16 hours of plowing, it is 16 hours of work total. At the conclusion of the 16-hour shift, the employee will be released for an 8-hour rest period. The employee may then return to work following the rest period to resume snow removal. During short-duration snow events and at the determination of the Director of Public Works or the Street Manager, an employee may operate City-owned equipment for up to 18 hours to finish snow push-back and final cleanup. 18 hours is a drop-dead time. No City of Xxxxx employee may operate any City-owned equipment in excess of 18 hours in a 24 hour period. Upon hitting the 18-hour xxxx, the employee will be released for an 8-hour rest period.
Extended Work Hours. On some weeks, the Contractor and the Contractor's employees may be asked to work more than 10 hours per day, more than 50 hours per week, holidays, weekends, or any combination thereof, in order to complete the work. This may include working 24 hours per day with 2-3 crews on rotating shifts. The bid hourly rate will be paid for the first 8 hours of any shift and an overtime rate of 1.5 times the bid unit rate will be paid for the additional hours worked in a shift. For example, if two 12-hour shifts are worked for a 24-hour cycle, the bid rate will be paid for the first 8 hours of each shift and the overtime rate of 1.5 times the bid unit rate will be paid for the second 4 hours of each shift. Extended hours are preferred and recommended when drilling and constructing deep xxxxx (>600 ft). Such hours must be directed and approved in advance by the Geologist.
