POSTING OF JOB VACANCIES. (a) Except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, all vacancies which occur in regular and temporary jobs covered by this Agreement or developed in accordance with this Agreement, shall be bulletined for a minimum of 5 working days on all appropriate bulletin boards. The bulletin shall include all relevant information including duties, qualifications, wage scale and special conditions. (b) A Regular employee who is a successful applicant for a temporary job will return to his/her regular position when the temporary job is concluded. (c) The Company reserves the right to post internally and externally simultaneously. (a) Late applications from employees on sick leave, annual vacation, or other authorized leaves shall be considered provided the selection has not already been completed at the time of such application. (b) When an employee is on leave for more than five (5) working days, he/she may choose to register a standing application with Human Resources. 7.03 Applicants for job vacancies shall have their application acknowledged electronically and the name of the successful applicant shall be published on the intranet when the selection is made. (a) Preference in selection for vacant jobs within the bargaining unit shall be given to applicants in the bargaining unit who are regular or temporary employees, in that order, provided, in the opinion of the Company, they have the qualifications for the job concerned. Employees shall be selected on the basis of knowledge, ability and performance. Should more than one employee within the unit meet the above requirements, then preference shall be given to the senior employee. (b) If there are no applicants within the unit who meet all the above requirements, then the Company may, without re-posting, choose to select an applicant with less than the required qualifications provided that, where two or more employees are comparatively equal in qualifications, preference shall be given to the senior applicant. (c) If there are no applicants within the unit suitable for selection, then the Company may fill the vacancy by hiring outside the bargaining unit. Such outside hire will not have less qualifications than was required of internal applicants. (d) The Company may invite a representative of the Union from the appropriate business unit to be present at job interviews for COPE 378 positions. POSTING OF JOB VACANCIES. When a permanent job vacancy occurs, and a replacement is required, a notice of such vacancy including the job classification rate, title and area and effective date will be posted, except group No. I, plant wide for five (5) regular working days. Applications will be considered first by department, then total plant. The name of the successful applicant along with the award date and effective date will be posted three (3) working days from the close of bidding. An employee will not be allowed to bid into another job and later return to his original job more than twice in any one year period. The successful applicant will be paid the training rate of the new posting or their own rate whichever is greater, anytime after the effective date that the job is running. The successful bidder will have the greatest seniority and be capable to perform the work, or be given a fair trial to learn the qualificationsof the work. Successful bidders will be given a fair trial and, if found unsatisfactory, or within thirty (30) working days indicate their desire to return to their former job, they will be returned as soon as a replacement is available under the bidding procedure. Senior employees refused an opportunity on a job vacancy for which they have bid or who are removed from the job after a trial period, will be given the reason in writing by the appropriate Supervisor. Grievances arising out of such refusal will be referred directly to Step of the Grievance procedure. It is understood and agreed that it will not be necessary to re-post a job in the case of an employee returning to his former job, under this provision, within thirty (30) working days, and applications will be considered from among the original bidders. Skilled trades jobs will be posted on the Department bulletin board as in If no suitable applications are received, the posting will then go wide. If no applications are received for a posted job, or, if of the applicants, no employee has the required certificate, the Company may hue a new employee. If required, the Company will post factory-wide for apprentices and register same under the Provincial Regulations. If no suitable applicants are available the Company may hue a new employee. Apprentices are not subject to layoff or bumping. POSTING OF JOB VACANCIES. 12.1 The District shall post vacancies for bargaining unit positions on the bulletin board in the District Office, at all school sites and at the Bus Garage. For vacancies which occur during the summer recess, the District shall mail job vacancy announcements to each unit member who has filed with the District Superintendent's Office a written request to be so notified. It is the responsibility of the unit member to inform the District, in writing, of the unit member’s correct mailing address. 12.2 Each vacancy announcement shall remain posted for a period of at least seven (7) calendar days, during which time bargaining unit members may apply. Such posting shall include pertinent information about the vacancy and the deadline for submitting requests for consideration. 12.3 Unit members may submit to the District Office a written request on the appropriate District form for consideration for each such vacancy. 12.4 The District shall inform all unit members submitting requests for consideration for a vacancy of the disposition of their request. 12.5 If a unit member's request to fill a vacancy is not granted, the unit member shall be entitled to a meeting with the District Superintendent or designee to discuss the reason why the request was not granted.
POSTING OF JOB VACANCIES. At the time a teacher position that is to be filled is posted or advertised publicly, the Principal will also notify all teachers of the vacancy, by e-mail and by posting on a bulletin board in the school used for such purposes. Currently employed teachers shall then have the opportunity to notify the Principal within a calendar week from the date of the e-mail that they are interested in a voluntary transfer into the open position. This notice is intended to ensure that the Principal is aware of any internal applicants before actively recruiting external applicants. The District may recruit outside of the District concurrently with this job posting. 12.6.3 No assignment to fill the vacancy shall be made until after the closing date of the posting. 12.6.4 Unit members may submit to the District Office a written request on the appropriate District form for consideration for each such vacancy.
