Re-employment Pool. Any certificated employee receiving written notice of contract non-renewal pursuant to the provisions of this policy shall be placed in an employment pool for possible re- employment for fifteen (15) months beginning July 1st, following expiration of his/her contract in effect at the time of layoff. Employees in the employment pool will be given the opportunity to fill open positions based on qualifications as defined in Section A and seniority as defined in Section B, with the most senior, qualified recalled first. Employees who were previously assigned to full time positions, shall be recalled to full time positions provided that such teachers shall have the option of accepting any part-time position that may exist without jeopardizing his/her recall status for any full time position. Certificated employees who were previously assigned to part-time positions, shall be recalled to part-time positions provided that no part-time employee with less seniority shall be recalled to any part-time position, unless such a position is declined by all employees (full and part-time) with greater seniority. The District shall give written notice of re-employment opportunity by sending a registered or certified letter to said employee, at his/her last known address. It shall be the responsibility of each employee to notify the District of any change of address. The employee's address, as it appears on the District's records, shall be conclusive when used in connection with non-renewal, re-employment, or other notice to the employee. Any employee so notified shall respond within fourteen (14) calendar days from mailing of said notice, whether the employee accepts or rejects the position. If an employee rejects a position for which he/she is certificated to teach and such position is offered consistent with the aforementioned provisions of the Article, the employee shall be considered to have forfeited re-employment rights.

Re-employment Pool. Employees laid off shall be enrolled in the reemployment pool. Names shall remain on the pool roster for two (2) years from the beginning of the school year following layoff. Employees shall retain accrued sick leave, vested vacation rights, and seniority for a period of two (2) years. A employee on the pool roster shall not accrue additional benefits or rights during this time.

Re-employment Pool. Any certificated employee, upon hearing of the administrative recommendations as provided in paragraph 1 above, or of the determination that probable cause exists for non-renewal of his/her employment contract, may request and be entitled to receive a leave of absence for the ensuing school year by filing a written request no later than May 30th. Any employee taking such leave shall be placed in the employment pool. If it is necessary to apply this policy for the school year following that during which a certificated employee is on leave as provided herein, this policy shall then be applied to determine if probable cause exists for not renewing such employee's contract. Any certificated employee given notice that his/her contract will not be renewed at the end of the current school year, or taking leave as provided herein, shall receive preferential treatment in filling vacancies for which they are qualified. All employees given notice of non-renewal or taking leave shall be placed in an employment pool for possible employment for a period extending to the commencement of the first school year after that for which they took leave or were non-renewed, or for an additional school year, if requested in writing, on or before April 1, preceding such year. When a vacancy occurs, notification thereof shall be given by the school district to all employees in the pool by certified mail, return receipt requested, to the last known address of such employee or by personal delivery of such written notification to such employee. Any employee shall have ten (10) calendar days from receipt of such written notice to request consideration for the vacant position. Such vacancy shall be filled from the employment pool by the employee determined to be qualified by the Board, applying the criteria herein, to fill such vacancy. Priority and competency of all employees requesting consideration for a vacant position shall be determined by the Board following a consideration of the same factors and in the same order as enumerated in the criteria contained herein.
Re-employment Pool. Teachers who are to be laid off and/or RIFd will be placed in a re-employment pool for one school year. They will be given first priority to fill open positions for which they are qualified, based on seniority.
Re-employment Pool. 3.6.1 In the event of layoff, affected employees are to be placed on a re-employment list maintained by the Human Resources Department according to seniority within each classification. Names shall remain on the re-employment list for eighteen (18) consecutive months from the date of layoff. It is the employee’s responsibility to keep his/her address and telephone number current with the District.
