SENIORITY AND ASSIGNMENT. A. Seniority shall be defined as continuous, unbroken service with the employer. Voluntary termination, dismissals, absence without leave and layoffs in excess of six(6) months all constitute a break in service. Approved leaves of absence that are approved by the Board of Education do not constitute a break in service. B. A seniority roster will be prepared on an annual basis and it will be posted in the Transportation Department on the bulletin board. If the list must be revised during the calendar year, any revisions will be posted and the Association will be given a copy of the original list and any revisions to that list. C. If, during the course of this agreement, the employer must place a layoff into effect, then the last employee hired shall be the first employee placed in layoff. If a recall to work is issued by the employer then the employees will be recalled in inverse of layoff. The employee laid off last will be the first recalled to work. The employee will only be recalled to work if the employee possesses the skill and ability to perform the job that is now open. D. 1. a. All routes will be assigned by the Transportation Coordinator. A route is considered a September - June to/from school scheduled run.

SENIORITY AND ASSIGNMENT. Section A - Seniority 1. Seniority will begin on the first date an administrator actually begins to work in a position under an administrative contract. 2. Tie breakers for seniority purposes will be: a) The first tie breaker will be determined by the first day an employee has worked in Xxxxxx Consolidated Schools. b) In the event of a continuing tie, the employee with the higher degree will hold the senior position on the seniority list. c) When a similar degree status results in a tie, the date the degree was issued will be the determining factor, with the earlier date determining the more senior administrator. 3. Seniority shall be accrued within general groups as shown on Schedule A. General groups shall consist of elementary, secondary, non-instructional, and central office. 4. Any exempt administrator who is assigned to a Bargaining Unit position will be credited with seniority in the central office instructional group equivalent to the time spent as an exempt administrator in Xxxxxx Consolidated Schools. Newly hired exempt administrators, in the district as of August 1, 1986, who are not former bargaining unit members will not accrue seniority in the bargaining unit. 5. Administrators may have seniority in more than one general group. 6. A laid off WAA administrator, who is awaiting recall, will continue to gain WAA seniority. (Beginning 7/01/87.) Section B - PROMOTIONS 1. Opportunities for promotion shall be posted for a specified period. Requests of interest by Bargaining Unit members must be made in writing to the Superintendent during the posting period. 2. Any District administrator with three (3) years of successful experience shall, upon written request, be granted an interview with the appropriate director to review her/his professional growth prior to the filling of an administrative vacancy. 3. Administrative experience will be accepted in lieu of teaching experience in regulations regarding qualifications for building administrative positions.

SENIORITY AND ASSIGNMENT a) All bus drivers must complete a bus drivers' training program to the satisfaction of the School. Upon successful completion of the training program, all drivers will serve a probationary period of ninety (90) working days. Days when the driver does not work will not be counted. During the probationary period, the Employer shall have the right in its sole discretion to terminate the services of an employee without that employee having recourse through the grievance procedure. Upon satisfactory completion of the probationary period, the substitute bus driver's seniority will be listed as of the date the training program was completed. If two (2) or more employees complete the training program on the same date, seniority will be determined by lot. At the time of the seniority selection the affected Association members and an Association Representative will be present. The probationary driver will be paid on the appropriate step on the salary schedule. Drivers who are hired by the District with their training already complete shall have their seniority date be their date of hire. b) Seniority will be done in order of training date completion (or the date of record prior to July 2022) in the following order: Route Driver Part-Time Driver Reporting Sub Drivers Call-In Substitute Drivers will not be on the seniority list. c) Should a Route Driver, Part-Time Driver, or Reporting Sub Driver resign or retire, the driver shall lose all seniority. SENIORITY AND ASSIGNMENT. Section 1 Company seniority means a full-time employee's length of continuous service with the Company since his starting date as a full-time employee with the Company or any predecessor Company. Section 2 Department seniority shall be determined by the length of a full-time employee’s continuous service in one (1) department of the Company. For purposes of seniority, three (3) departments shall be recognized: Operations Department, Maintenance and the Operations Office effective November 1, 2002. The Maintenance Manager’s Assistant will be included in the Maintenance Department’s seniority unit. The Public Information & Security Clerk will be included in the Operations Office seniority unit. The Operations Department will consist of two (2) divisions: Fixed Route and Demand Response. Employees may only hold seniority in one (1) department of the Company at a time. Employees of the Operations Department may hold seniority in either the Fixed Route or Demand Response, but not in both at the same time. An employee may not bump another employee from a different department even though said employee may have less overall Company seniority, except in layoff situations. The only way an employee can move to a different department is if an opening occurs in a department and the employee who wants to move has the most seniority of the eligible and qualified employees bidding for the position. When an employee moves to a different department, they move to the bottom of the seniority list in that department. The Operators within the Operations Department will maintain the current seniority within their current division. That being that the Fixed Route and the Demand Response Division will maintain their current seniority for bidding purposes. If an opening occurs and an employee of one division wants to move to the other division, and has the qualifications to bid such a position, they (the employee who changes divisions) will move to the bottom of that division as far as seniority purposes. An employee who changes divisions may return to the division they left with all seniority that they had when they left that division at the next scheduled bid if an opening occurs. Parity and Cross Training: All new operators hired after March 3, 2010 and all current part-time operators must be cross trained. Any current full time employee who wishes to be cross trained for professional and work reasons, shall be cross trained to enable them to work in either division. All Relief ...

Copies of revised lists, if any, will be provided to the Union. C. Seniority shall be measured from an employee's most recent date of hire. Employees shall acquire seniority only upon satisfactory completion of a probationary period of the first ninety (90) calendar days of employment. After successfully completing the probationary period, date of hire and seniority reverts to the first day of employment. Employees who worked in the district, as a substitute custodian, for more than ninety (90) consecutive days or 180 calendar days in one year, shall have the probationary period waved. Their seniority shall date from their most recent date of hire. Health coverages shall start after the end of the probationary period, or 60 days after the date of hire if the probationary period is waived. D. During the first ninety (90) calendar days of employment from an employee's most recent date of hire, an employee shall be on probationary status. Retention of the employee within this period shall be entirely at the discretion of the Board, and if terminated, such termination shall not be subject to the grievance procedure. Reason for termination will be submitted in writing. E. Employees promoted to positions outside of the unit shall maintain their seniority in their prior position for a one (1) year period. F. For all available openings, any interested custodial/maintenance personnel shall submit their name for consideration. The administration shall determine the most qualified persons; seniority shall be considered when two or more employees are determined to be equally qualified. G. All positions shall be given to the association president the day after the board approves the opening.

  • Variation and Assignment No variation of this agreement shall be valid or effective unless it is in writing. We may amend this TOBA by sending you either a notice of amendment in writing or a revised TOBA. We are entitled to assign this TOBA to any other Affiliate for so long as such company remains an Affiliate.
