Union Stewards and Representatives. The Union has the sole right and discretion to designate employees of the State who are authorized to serve as the Union’s representatives, including, stewards or alternates, and local executive board members. The Union will specify the responsibilities and authority of its representatives to act on behalf of the Union. The parties agree that the privileges afforded to Stewards, elsewhere provided, are applicable to a reasonable number of Stewards. Should conflict arise in the administration of this clause, the parties agree to resolve the conflict(s) through further discussions.

Union Stewards and Representatives. Section 1: Section 2: The Union shall select a reasonable number of stewards, and notify the Court Executive Officer (CEO) in writing as to who has been designated as a xxxxxxx. Any change in stewards shall be communicated in writing to the CEO in a timely fashion. On occasion and depending upon the circumstances, the Union may designate a representative, not a current xxxxxxx, who shall act in the capacity of xxxxxxx for a grievance meeting with prior written notice to the CEO. The Union may also request a postponement of a grievance meeting if necessary to ensure appropriate representation for an employee. Such request shall not be unreasonably denied. After receiving approval from the supervisor, a xxxxxxx shall be allowed reasonable time off during working hours, without loss of time, pay or employment benefits, to investigate, prepare and present grievances and disciplinary appeals of court interpreter bargaining unit employees. The supervisor shall authorize the xxxxxxx to leave his/her work if it is determined that the xxxxxxx’x absence will not interfere with the work of the unit. When immediate approval is not granted, the supervisor shall inform the xxxxxxx and shall establish an alternate time when the xxxxxxx can be released from his/her work assignment. Not more than one xxxxxxx shall be on paid court time during any grievance meeting. The presence of a shop xxxxxxx at the meeting does not preclude a union staff representative from also being present at the meeting. Section 3: The Region will provide reasonable release time without loss of pay or employment benefits for unit employees released under this section. Up to five unit employees will be released for the purpose of negotiating a labor agreement or successor labor agreement with Region 2 Negotiating Committee. For all other meet and confer sessions, up to two (2) unit employees will be released. In courts with more than fifteen (15) bargaining unit employees, up to three (3) bargaining unit employees will be released with no more than two (2) from any one court with fifteen (15) or less bargaining unit employees, for purposes of meet and confer. Section 4: Any time spent performing the functions of a xxxxxxx outside of the normal business day, or any time spent on a day when a xxxxxxx is not otherwise scheduled for work, shall not be compensated by the Court. Union Stewards and Representatives a. A “xxxxxxx” is an employee of the State serving as the designated union representative in the grievance district pursuant to Article 25 Section D.1. b. An “executive board member” is an employee of the State, who sits on the executive board of a local Union. An executive board member will have all the privileges of a xxxxxxx and may represent any employee, regardless of the employee's negotiations unit. Time off for an executive board member is governed by Section D.1 of this article. The Union and the State will mutually designate the grievance district(s) within the jurisdiction of an executive board member. c. A “union staff representative” is a person in the active employ of the Union and not the State. d. The term “designated union representative,” as used in this Article and throughout the Agreement, refers to a xxxxxxx, executive board member or a union staff representative.
Union Stewards and Representatives. 6.01 The Union agrees that there shall be no solicitation for membership in the Union, signing up of members, collection of any fees, dues or assessments, meetings, or other business activities of the Union while on duty. Union members may discuss Union affairs, while on duty, in non-work areas and during non-work hours such as lunch breaks and after 1700 hours. 6.02 A complete list of Union Representatives shall be furnished to the City and any changes of these shall be promptly reported in writing to the City before the Representative can accomplish any duties. 6.03 It is understood that an employee functioning as a Union Representative has productive work to perform and will not leave the job during work hours, except after properly requesting and receiving proper authorization from the Deputy Chief or designee and only after stating what Union duties are to be performed. If in the opinion of the Deputy Chief or designee, the above- mentioned persons are taking unreasonable time to conduct such business, the City shall have the right to require the Union representative to return to his productive City work. Examples of duties as applied in this section are the investigation of a grievance, formal disciplinary actions, alleged safety violations, and contract related discussions with the City.
Union Stewards and Representatives. 6.1 To preserve the delivery of services and in accordance with Section 447.509, Florida Statutes, the Union, their members, agents, or representatives, or any persons acting on their behalf are prohibited from the following acts: soliciting school board employees during working hours of any employee who is involved in the solicitation, distributing literature during working hours in areas where the actual work of school board employees is performed, such as offices, school board shops, maintenance complex and any similar school board installations. The Union further agrees that there shall be no signing or organizational activity, collection of fees, dues or assessments meetings or other business activity of the Union on school board time. However, the above activities are permitted on school property before and after work hours and during rest break or lunch periods provided that these activities will not interfere with or disrupt school operations and that any meeting on school board property shall have the approval of the work site administrator in charge or his/her designee. 6.2 A complete list of Union representatives shall be furnished to the Board, and any changes shall be reported in advance in writing to the board prior to the Union representatives conduction any Union business.

Union Stewards and Representatives. The University recognizes all of the accredited Union Stewards and Union President in all matters relating to the grievances and interpretations of the Agreement. A written list of Union Xxxxxxx and Officers shall be furnished to the Office of Human Resources immediately after their designation, and the Union shall notify the Office of Human Resources promptly of any changes. Union Stewards, Officers and Officials shall, without loss of pay, be granted upon request, reasonable time off during working hours to investigate, settle and process grievances upon notice to and approval of their immediate supervisor. Every attempt shall be made to notify the supervisor, giving ample notification of a meeting. Such approval will not be unreasonably withheld. The President of the Local may appoint an alternate in the event a xxxxxxx is not available due to absence from work, until the xxxxxxx returns to work. The name of the substitute xxxxxxx shall be submitted to the Office of Human Resources of the University. The Chief Xxxxxxx may serve in the place of the xxxxxxx.

There shall be two (2) Union Stewards selected from the Employee’s seniority list to service this Agreement, one (1) for the Terminal Building and one (1) for Field Maintenance. Alternate Stewards may be selected to serve in the absence of regular Stewards. The Union shall, at all times, keep the Employer advised, in writing, as to the identity of the Stewards and their alternates. 2. Authorized Union representatives may visit the Employer’s premises for the purpose of conferring with representatives of the Employer. If such Union representative wishes to confer with a Union Xxxxxxx or Employee, he must first notify the Airport Director, or his designee, and obtain his approval. The parties will cooperate in the foregoing and approval will not be withheld without good cause. 3. The authority of Stewards is limited to the investigation and presentation of grievances and the transmission of written information or oral information of a routine nature. They have no authority to order, recommend or engage in work stoppages or slowdowns. 4. The Employer recognizes the above limitations upon the authority of Stewards and their alternates and shall not hold the Union liable for any unauthorized acts if the Union shall promptly declare, by letter, to the Employer that such action is unauthorized. The Employer in so recognizing such limitations shall have the authority to impose appropriate discipline in the event of unauthorized strike action, slowdown, group absenteeism, or work stoppage in violation of this Agreement. 5. The Union, where an unauthorized strike action, slowdown, group absenteeism, or work stoppage in violation of this Agreement or the Iowa statute has occurred, shall promptly order the Employees to return to work in addition to furnishing a letter as stated in paragraph 4 above. 6. Any Union business which, of necessity, must be performed during regular working hours shall be permitted only after advance approval has been obtained from the Airport Director or his designee, and shall be accomplished in such a manner as to avoid interference with operations and/or the performance of any Employee’s job duties. No Employee shall leave his job assignment or cause another Employee to leave his job assignment without the prior approval of the Airport Director or his designee.
