VACATIONS PAY. Employees covered by this agreement shall be granted with pay on the following basis. Calculation of vacations shall be based on August Length of Service Period of Vacation Approximate Vacation Pay Equivalency months no. of months months Vacations are to be taken during July and August when practicable. Custodial staff must complete their vacation period one (Iw)eek prior to Labour Day. Employees with years of service or more, vacations to be taken at a mutually agreeable time, during the calendar year. Employees with less than years of service must take all of their vacation up to weeks vacation during July and August, except as allowed under Article Employees with less than twenty (20) years of service may make application to take vacations outside of the normal July and August vacation period. The granting of such requests will be made at the sole discretion of the Board. Maintenance staff may take vacation at any time during the year but a vacation period of more than three (3) weeks during the months of July and August will be at the discretion of the Superintendent of Business and Plant. For each week of vacation (up to a maximum of three weeks) not taken during the months of July and August, a one-half day bonus (up to a maximum of one and one-half days) will be paid. An employee may request time off in lieu of the paid bonus. When an employee is granted a leave of absence, with salary deduction, which aggregates twenty (20) working days or more during a calendar year, vacation pay and entitlement shall be prorated according to time worked. An employee on paid sick leave, wage loss, or will accumulate vacation credits for up to one year from the date of disability, and will resume accumulation upon return to work. May 31/98 + Subject to mutual agreement, on rare occasions, an employee may request or be requested to carry a week or more of the employee's vacation into next vacation year. However, under no condition shall vacation be extended beyond the extended year.
VACATIONS PAY. No later than December of each year, the Employer shall post a vacation list or lists on the bulletin board and each employee shall, in order of seniority, apply for his vacation on such list at a time same is desired and such request must be completed by February of each year. After February of each year following the selection of one (Iw)eek vacation blocks, vacation may be requested in one day blocks in Alberta. It is the Employer's responsibilityto ensure that employees sign up for vacations in an expedient manner and eliminate any delays on the part of any employee in exercising his entitlement for vacation selection. No employee be by-passed without two (2) working days notice in writing from the Employer. Once established, the vacation schedule shall not be changed unless mutually agreed and open periods are available. The vacation schedule must be finalized by March In the event an employee shall fail to select his vacation on or before February the employee will only be allowed to select vacation periods that have not already been booked. If an employee has not selected vacation by July the employer reserves the right to assign such employees vacation period, however, the Employer will give two days to the employee.

VACATIONS PAY. The Company will shut-down for a period of two (2) weeks for the annual vacation. The Company shall have the option of: (A) scheduling the two (2) week shut-down for all shifts for the same two (2) week period; or scheduling the two (2) week shut-down at different times for each of the day, afternoon and night shifts. the event the Company designates different annual shut-downs for the day, afternoon and night shifts, it will announce such designation by January 15th of each year. The Employer has the option of scheduling a two (2) week shut-down for the night shift at the same time as the day or afternoon shifts. The Company agrees to give the employees covered by this Agreement who have the necessary service as of the 1st day of May in any vacation year, and who are in the employ of the Company at the date of shut-down, a vacation pay based on the following schedule: any employee with less than one (1) year's service with the Company shall receive a vacation pay equal to four (4%) per cent of his total wages earned for the twelve (12) month period immediately prior to the first pay day following May in any vacation year; any employee who has been in the service of the Company for one (1) year or more shall be given a vacation of two (2) weeks and receive vacation pay equal to four percent (4%) of his total wages earned during the period of twelve (12) months prior to the first pay day following May in any vacation year; any employee who has been in the service of the Company for four (4) years or more shall be given a vacation of two (2) weeks and receive vacation pay equal to five percent (5%) of his total wages earned during the period of twelve (12) months prior to the first pay day following May in any vacation year; any employee who has been in the service of the Company for eight (8) years or more shall be given a vacation of three (3) weeks and receive vacation pay equal to six (6%) per cent of his total wages earned during the period of twelve (12) months prior to the first pay day following May 1st in any vacation year; any employee who has been in the service of the Company for thirteen (13) years or more shall be given a vacation of four (4) weeks and receive vacation pay equal to eight (8%) per cent of his total wages earned during the period of twelve (12) months prior to the first pay day following May 1st in any vacation year; any employee who has been in the service of the Company for twenty (20) years or more shall be given a vacation of...
