WORK HOURS/OVERTIME. 32.01 Overtime will be paid at the rate of time and a half. Overtime will be paid after forty (40) hours per week. 32.02 In an effort to provide extra scheduled time to regular employees in the building on a rotational basis, additional “camps” may be scheduled for when school is not in session. 32.03 Overtime work at employee's option - overtime work shall be voluntary. There shall be no discrimination against any employee who declines to work except when the Superintendent shall declare an emergency. 32.04 Employees attending mandatory in-services or staff meetings shall be paid their regular hourly rate for the time they attend. 32.04.01 Mandatory meetings cannot exceed one per month and employees shall be given at least 24-hour notice of such mandatory meetings. (a) Employees selected by the district who are trained for specific students and have daily duties such as diabetic testing, insulin administration, breathing treatments, etc. shall be compensated $100.00 per year, payable in the last check of the school year. This amount will be prorated to a daily amount if not performed for the entire school year. This stipend will be limited to one primary and one back-up per building/program. (b) Employees selected by the district who are trained for possible medical assistance on an as needed basis for designated students in areas such as EpiPens, seizure response, etc. will be compensated with a one-time $100.00 stipend. 32.06 All Childcare Teachers and Preschool Teachers shall attend one (1) assigned evening Open House per year and all Parent Orientation assigned evenings (1 or 2) as dictated by the assigned teaching schedule. Childcare Teachers and Preschool Teachers will be compensated at their regular hourly rate or as required by Article 32.01 for their attendance. Participation in additional activities beyond the regular work day is voluntary and not subject to the evaluation process. Classroom aides are not required nor compensated to attend Open House or Orientation evenings. 32.07 Preschool Teachers are required to hold a parent conference with each parent during the day as scheduled in the calendar or required by accreditation/grants. Preschool teachers will be compensated fifteen (15) minutes per child for report card/portfolio completion and fifteen (15) minutes per student conference. WORK HOURS/OVERTIME. 3.2.1 Work Day, Week & Year: The regular work week shall consist of forty (40) hours and shall be five (5) consecutive days, Monday through Sunday. Eight (8) hours shall constitute a day's work to be completed within eight and one-half (8-1/2) consecutive hours. All employees shall be allowed one-half (1/2) hour duty-free lunch. The regular work year shall consist of a maximum of two hundred sixty (260) working/compensated days. Employees will schedule to take days off in excess of 260 (without pay) at time(s) mutually agreeable with their supervisor.

WORK HOURS/OVERTIME. SECTION 11.1 The normal work year for Paraeducators shall be one hundred eighty two (182) days during which time school is in session inclusive of two (2) days prior to the school year. The normal workweek for all members is Monday through Friday. SECTION 11.2 Each employee shall be assigned a definite shift with designated times of beginning and ending. Employees shall be notified two (2) weeks in advance of any change in the work schedule not due to emergency conditions. Changes will not reduce the individual contract as stated in Article III, Section 3.2. Failure of the District to provide such notice shall entitle the employee to work according to the original schedule or according to the revised schedule. The District will make every effort not to require employees to work a split shift. SECTION 11.3 Each employee working five (5) or more hours shall be given two (2) fifteen (15) minute rest periods per day. Each employee working between four (4) and five (5) hours daily shall be given one (1) fifteen (15) minute rest period each day. Employees shall be allowed a meal period of at least one-half (1 /2) hour but no more than one (1) hour, which shall be a duty-free period. Employees working overtime will be entitled to an additional fifteen (15) minute rest period for every two (2) hours worked. SECTION 11.4 Hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per week, or any hours worked on Saturday or Sunday, shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the employee's base hourly rate of pay. Overtime shall be paid in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. SECTION 11.5 In lieu of payment for overtime, compensatory time at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the hours worked may be requested by the employee. Accumulation of compensatory time shall not exceed thirty-two (32) hours. SECTION 11.6 Overtime shall be pre-approved by the appropriate administrator. All overtime shall be paid upon submission of a properly signed time sheet to the District payroll office. SECTION 11.7 The employer shall provide substitutes, when necessary, due to the absence of a regular employee. SECTION 11.8 In no case shall employees covered by this Agreement be requested or required to replace certificated employees (pursuant to RCW 28A.405.465) or employees in other classified bargaining units.   • HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME Section 15.1 This Article is intended to define the normal hours of work per day or per week in effect at the time of execution of this Agreement. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as preventing the Employer from restructuring the normal workday or workweek as necessary to promote efficiency or improve services, or from establishing the work schedules of employees. However, nothing in this Section shall relieve the Employer of its duty to bargain the affects of such decisions on employee wages, hours, terms and other conditions of employment. This Article shall be used as the basis for computing overtime for employees who are not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day or per week. Section 15.2 Employees may take one paid fifteen (15) minute break for every four (4) hour block worked. Employees may combine breaks to take up to one (1) sixty (60) minute paid break. Employees may not leave campus on their paid breaks. Section 15.3 Bargaining unit employees who are not exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid one and one-half times their normal hourly rate for all hours actually worked in excess of forty (40) hours per work week. All overtime shall have prior supervisory approval, except when it is necessary for a nurse to remain on duty to protect patient safety. Only hours actually worked are counted for the purpose of computing an employee's eligibility for overtime pay. There shall be no pyramiding of hours or pay. Section 15.4 The Board serves individuals 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. To meet this need for service to our individuals evening and weekend hours may be required of any bargaining unit employee. The Employer will establish the standard work day as beginning at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 5:59 a.m. and starting and ending times for each shift in each department. Supervisors will establish daily workschedules. Section 15.5 Absent an emergency situation, management will notify the Union in the event management intends to institute a long-term change in the present shift times for nurses. Following notification and upon request by the Union, management will meet with the Union to discuss the reason for the change and possible alternatives.

  • HOURS OF WORK AND OVERTIME A. The normal work week shall be from Monday to Friday both inclusive and shall comprise five (5) days of eight (8) hours each. B. All hours worked in excess of eight (8) hours in any day shall be paid at the rate of 1 ½ times the regular hourly rate. C. Nothing contained in this paragraph shall be construed to be a guarantee of overtime if such is scheduled nor shall the right of the Board to cancel such scheduled overtime be limited. Employees who are required to work on a Saturday or a Sunday shall be xxxxxx- xxxx a minimum of four hours of work at the overtime rates provided in B and C above. H. Overtime shall be distributed equally as practical by building and/or department among the employees qualified and capable of performing the work available. In the event an employee is called back to work after the conclusion of a normal work shift, the employee will be entitled to a minimum of four (4) hours pay at the overtime rate and the Board reserves the right to assign four (4) hours of work in such situations. If the call- back is for an open window or door, the payment shall be two (2) hours at the overtime rate. Failure of an employee to properly secure his/her area of responsibility shall result in disciplinary action. J. Except in case of emergency, or in the event of performance on an assigned job, or during July and August, no seasonal or substitute employees shall perform in excess of forty (40) hours per week the duties of employees in the bargaining unit, nor shall seasonal or sub- stitute employees be hired or retained if regular permanent employees are on a temporary lay-off due to a reduction in force. K. Employees shall be granted no more than a fifteen (15) minute coffee break in the morning. L. When an employee is required to work in excess of ten (10) hours or more, said employee shall be granted a second one-half (1/2) hour lunch period at no loss of pay for such lunch period, and shall be granted an additional one-half (1/2) hour lunch period for each five

  • Work Hours Except in emergencies, the standard work week of full-time unit employees shall normally consist of five (5) days of eight (8) hours each, exclusive of lunch hour. Each employee shall be assigned regular starting and ending times, which shall not be changed without prior notice. Should an employee be required to work during his/her lunch hour, the length of such interruption shall be counted as time worked unless other arrangements are made with his/her supervisor.

  • HOURS AND OVERTIME A. Workweek The workweek shall consist of no more than five (5) consecutive days of eight (8) hours/day. This Article shall not restrict the extension of the regular workday or workweek on an overtime basis when such is necessary to carry on the business of the District. C. Workday An employee with prior approval by his/her supervisor or a supervisor with the approval of the employee may modify the employee’s workday to accommodate a short-term (maximum thirty (30) calendar days) special need, but in no case will the number of hours worked that day be less than assigned. If an agreement cannot be reached, an employee’s supervisor may modify an employee’s workday to accommodate a short-term (maximum thirty (30) calendar days) special need, but in no case will the number of hours worked that day be less than assigned. The employee shall receive no less than a 3 work day prior written notice of the workday change. On an annual basis, a supervisor may modify an employee’s workday (starting and ending times) by no more than 30 minutes without the employee’s permission upon receiving the prior approval of an Assistant Superintendent. The employee shall receive written notice at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to this change taking place. CSEA will be consulted. D. Lunch Periods All employees covered by this Agreement shall be entitled to an uninterrupted lunch period after the employee has been on duty for four (4) hours. The length of time for such lunch shall be for a period of no longer than one hour nor less than one-half (1/2) hour and shall be scheduled for full-time employees at or about the midpoint of each work shift. This also applies to overtime assignments of four hours or more.

  • WORKING HOURS AND OVERTIME 8.1 The normal working day shall be 8 consecutive hours exclusive of meal period. The normal work week shall be 40 hours. 8.1.1 The Company may, where required, institute 10-hour (exclusive of meal period)/4 day per week driver positions in accordance with Article 5.2. 8.2 Warehousepersons B shall be paid a minimum of 3 hours’ pay at the straight time rate, and if required to perform work beyond 3 hours shall be paid on the minute basis for work in excess of 3 hours. This does not apply to positions as outlined in Article 8.1.1. 8.4.1 All hours worked in excess of 10 hours in any one day, or 40 hours in any one week, as specified in Article 8.1.1 shall be paid at one and one-half times the hourly rate of pay. 8.5 Employees, if required to work on regularly assigned rest days, shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half time on the actual minute basis with a minimum payment of 4 hours at the pro rata hourly rate. 8.6 Where work is required by the Company to be performed on a day which is not part of any assignment, it may be performed by an available extra or unassigned employee who will otherwise not have 40 hours of work that week. Overtime shall be allocated on the basis of seniority wherever possible, in a voluntary manner, within the work classification and shifts, provided the employee is capable of performing the duties; however, upon reaching the bottom of the seniority list in that classification and shift, the junior employee(s) will be required, in reverse order, to work the overtime. 8.7 Excluding Linehaul operations, employees shall not be required to take more than 60 minutes for a meal period and, if practical, 30-minute meal period will be utilized. Lunch hour for employees holding City Tractor or Driver Representative positions will commence between the end of the third hour of the shift and the end of the sixth hour of the shift. This clause only applies to employees holding bulletin positions. 8.8 All employees working in excess of three (3) hours will receive a fifteen (15) minute paid coffee break. A fifteen (15) minute coffee break without loss of pay will commence after approximately two hours of work, or at or about the mid-point of the first half after an employee reports for duty. A second fifteen (15) minute paid coffee break shall be after six hours of work where the tour of duty is in excess of six hours. There will be a third paid15 minute break if 3 hours of overtime are completed. This break is to be taken after the second hour of overtime has been completed. These breaks shall not be cumulative. 8.9 Employees shall be allowed to elect to bank overtime in lieu of pay to maximum of 40 hours at the rate of one and one-half hours banked for every one hour worked. Overtime worked will automatically be used to replenish the bank to the maximum of 40 hours during the course of the year. Any balance of banked overtime unused will be carried over to the next year unless the employee gives notice to withdraw from the program or requests to be paid out any unused portion as indicated in 8.9.1. 8.9.1 A request to bank overtime must be made in writing and received by the Company by March 7th of the year. Banked overtime will continue unless the Company is notified by the employee he wishes to opt out of the program. Upon written request to the Company by March 7th of each year an employee shall be entitled to be paid for all unused banked hours accumulated for the previous year. The Company will issue payment by March 31st. Banked overtime accumulation will be discontinued effective the first pay period in November until the last pay period in December inclusive each year. During this period employees will be able to withdraw banked overtime already accumulated, however all overtime worked in this period will be paid as part of the regular pay process. Banked overtime shall be secondary to annual vacations. The Company officer in charge or their designate must approve all requests, in writing, for leave to be drawn on banked time. An employee will make their request in writing 7 working days prior to the requested time off. Laid off employees will be allowed to withdraw banked time on days when no work is made available to them. 8.9.2 An employee off duty due to bona fide illness who is not claiming Short Term Disability Benefits payments will be permitted to use accumulated Banked Overtime as of the second day of their absence. 8.9.3 An employee off duty due to bone fide illness who is eligible to receive Short Term Disability benefit payments will be permitted to use accumulated Banked Overtime to offset the three- day waiting period required by the STD plan. 8.9.4 When a request to use Banked Overtime is granted, it will not be withdrawn after approval unless otherwise agreed by the employee and the supervisor. 8.9.5 Banked Overtime may be used in the event of a shortage of work occurs and the Company asks for volunteers to take a day off. Should the employee wish to use an annual vacation day or Banked Overtime Day to compensate for the days lost earnings, their request will not be denied.

  • Overtime Computation Computation of overtime will be rounded upward to the nearest one-tenth (1/10th) of an hour.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.

  • Hours Worked For the purpose of computing the number of hours worked, all time during which an employee is in paid status shall be construed as hours worked.
