Accumulation of Benefits. In all cases of leaves of absence without pay, of up to and including one month, all benefits shall accumulate as though the employee was at work. When the leave of absence is for more than one month, sick leave credits, seniority accumulation and health and welfare entitlements shall remain static, subject to Article 10.
Accumulation of Benefits. An employee who is laid off shall not accrue nor be eligible for any benefits provided by the City to the employees in the bargaining unit, including but not limited to vacation, sick leave, holidays, medical and dental insurance, life insurance, retirement contributions, and uniform allowance; provided, however, that the employee shall be credited with seniority as though he or she had remained in City service.
Accumulation of Benefits. A. All employees shall be given fifteen (15) sick leave days each school year for personal illnesses or injuries. Such days shall be credited to the employee on the first day of the school year (i.e., July 1) whether or not the employee reports for duty on that day. During the first year of employment, sick days shall be prorated based on hire date. Unused sick leave days shall be accumulated from year to year until a maximum of ninety (90) days has been accumulated.
B. An accounting of the employee's accumulated sick leave shall be made annually to each employee. Such accounting shall be submitted to the employee on or before the date of his/her second paycheck in September.
Accumulation of Benefits. Time-in-service and other City benefits will only accrue when an employee is on City-paid time.
Accumulation of Benefits. While an employee is on duty disability leave, the employee’s seniority benefit shall continue including the employee’s health insurance, sick leave and vacation leave.
Accumulation of Benefits. The Parties hereby acknowledge and agree that, in addition to the compensation and benefits described above in Article V of this Agreement, the County Administrator shall be credited with the accumulated amount of deferred compensation and accrued, but unused, leave provided in accordance with the Employment Agreement through and until the Employment Agreement termination date.

An employee who is absent from work, while collecting WorkSafeBC benefits or an employee who is on birth parent leave, parental leave, family responsibility leave, compassionate care leave, leave respecting disappearance of child, leave respecting death of child, leave respecting domestic or sexual violence or critical illness or injury leave shall not be considered to be on leave of absence without pay, for the purpose of this article.
Accumulation of Benefits. At the beginning of each school year a teacher will be credited with one (1) day sick leave allowance for each month of contractual employment. Unused sick leave days shall be accumulated from year to year with no maximum limit. Xxxx leave shall be interpreted to mean leave of absence because of illness of a teacher from natural causes, accident, quarantine, or illness or death of a member of the immediate family of a teacher, including the teacher's wife or husband, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, daughter-in-law, son- in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, niece and nephew.

When the leave of absence without pay is for more than one month, sick leave credits, vacation accrual, and seniority accumulation entitlements shall remain static. Subject to the provisions of Clauses 2.8, 21.4, and 21.5, an employee may remain on the Health and Welfare Plans by maintaining the costs of the same for any portion of the leave without pay which exceeds one month.
(b) Where an employee is absent due to illness for an extended period of time her seniority shall accrue until such time as she has exhausted her sick leave entitlement. Thereafter her seniority accumulation and vacation accrual shall remain static until she returns to work.
(c) A full-time employee in receipt of Long-Term Disability Benefits or on a claim recognized by the Workers' Compensation Board shall have her health and welfare benefit premiums maintained and the Employer shall continue to pay its portion of the premium cost for a period of four months and the employee can maintain coverage for a further eight months by paying the full cost of the premiums. An employee on LTD or WCB shall accumulate seniority for 24 months and then have their seniority maintained thereafter.
Accumulation of Benefits. (continued) An employee must work the entire month in order to be eligible for full accrual credit for that month’s service. An authorized excused absence for a period of less than thirty (30) days does not constitute a break in service for purposes of Paid Time Off benefit accrual. If an employee is separated from a position by an unpaid leave of absence for a period of thirty (30) days or more, this would constitute a break in service for Paid Time Off benefit accrual purposes. No Paid Time Off credit will accrue while an employee is on an unpaid leave i If an employees status changes from temporary to permanent, the employee will begin to accrue Paid Time Off benefits on the effective date of change. If an employee changes their hourly commitment, their monthly Paid Time Off accrual is pro-rated from the first of the month following the effective date of change. An employees anniversary date always remains the same for Paid Time Off benefit accrual purposes regardless of change of status.
