Work Week and Work Schedules. 1. Except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, the regular hours of work for full-time salaried employees shall be forty (40) hours. See USY.V.F.5. 2. Employees’ regular work schedules, including starting and ending times, shall be stated in the employee’s appointment letter. Employees shall be notified in writing of any permanent or major change in their regular work schedules, normally thirty (30) business days in advance of the contemplated change. Employees shall be permitted to discuss proposed schedule changes (excluding contract dates or percent time) with their supervisors, in order to offer alternatives or other suggestions to suit both the employee’s and the College’s scheduling needs. The final determination will rest with the supervisor. At the employee’s request, the supervisor shall provide the reason(s) for any proposed schedule change in writing. 3. Employees may request flexible work schedules, which shall not be unreasonably denied, so long as the supervisor determines that the business needs of the department can still be met. 4. All staff members are entitled to take a daily meal period at a time consistent with operational needs, which is considered as time not worked. Meal periods normally last for one hour, but may be scheduled for a shorter period by the supervisor who usually determines a consistent meal period schedule and the time allotted. See USY.V.F.5.1.5. 5. Stand-by Pay is paid to bargaining unit members who are specifically required in writing by their supervisors to restrict their travel and consumption of alcoholic beverages during non-working hours. The purpose of such restrictions is for the institution to be able to provide an immediate and safe response to any emergency situations. Such payment is limited to operations that are designated as essential services by the institution. Stand-by Pay, is paid at a rate of $30 per day. See USY.V.F.7.3.2.
Work Week and Work Schedules. Section 1: Scheduled Hours, Workweek, Workday A. Except as otherwise specified in this Agreement, the regular hours of work for full-time employees shall be thirty-seven and one-half (37.5) hours per week excluding meal period or forty (40) hours per week excluding meal periods, as has been established for that job title at the particular job location. Any employee whose regular workweek has averaged more than forty (40) hours excluding meal periods in the past shall have a forty (40) hour workweek. B. The work schedule, both starting times and quitting times, of employees shall be posted on a bulletin board at each work location or otherwise made available to employees and Union stewards. C. When the Employer desires to change the regular work schedule of an employee, the Employer shall give the affected employee at least eight (8) working days written notice of such contemplated change, except in cases of emergency involving the protection of the property of the University or involving the health and safety of those persons whose care and/or custody have been entrusted to the University. D. To the extent practicable, the normal workweek shall consist of five (5) consecutive days, Monday through Friday, with the regular hours of work each day to be consecutive except for meal periods. Similarly, to the extent practicable, employees in continuous operations shall receive two (2) consecutive days off in each seven (7) day period. This subsection should not apply to employees in authorized flexible hours programs or on a four (4) and two (2) schedule. E. Each employee shall be required to record his/her attendance in accordance with procedures presently established by the appointing authority. Thirty (30) days prior to any change in the existing method of recording attendance, the CEO or his/her designee will notify the Union of such change and will meet and confer with the Union to discuss such change.
Work Week and Work Schedules. The workweek for all members of the unit shall be 168 regularly recurring hours. For employees working the 5/8 or 4/10 work schedule, it shall begin on Saturday at 12:00 a. m. and end at 11:59 p.m. the following Friday. For employees working the 9/80 work schedule, each employee's designated FLSA workweek (168 hours in length) shall begin exactly four hours after the start time of his/her eight hour shift on the day of the week that corresponds with the employee's alternating regular day off. Every employee is required to work a forty (40) hour workweek, unless otherwise provided by the City Manager.  A 5/8 schedule consists of a weekly work schedule of 5 consecutive workdays, of 8 work hours each.  A 9/80 schedule consists of alternate weeks of one week that includes 4 consecutive workdays of 9 hours each, followed by 5 consecutive workdays within the next week, 4 consecutive days of which consist of 9 work hours each and 1 day of 8 work hours.  A 4/10 schedule consists of a weekly work schedule of 4 consecutive workdays of 10 work hours each.  Work hours above are consecutive, exclusive of the employee’s unpaid meal break. The department head retains the right to make de minimis changes to the start and end time of the employee(s) work shift schedule (i.e., changing the start time and end time of an employee’s workday by one hour or less). The department head will provide 30 days’ notice of such a schedule change. In recognition of the impact that schedule changes have on employees, another such schedule change in the 12-month period following the initial schedule change will require at least 90 days’ notice. However, any other changes to an employee(s) work schedule may be made by mutual agreement of the parties. In the event a major schedule change (i.e., from a 4/10 to a 9/80 or vice versa) is proposed within a department or city wide, to which the employee(s) has objections or concerns, the Association may request to meet and confer prior to the implementation of the new schedule and the City will meet within 14 days. Effective October 1, 2019, the parties agree to a two-year pilot program to permit employees to telecommute as follows: Employees may make a request to their department head to telecommute for a particular workday or workdays. Employees should provide as much notice as possible of their request to telecommute. Work Week and Work Schedules. 8.1 The standard work week for all full-time employees shall begin at 12:00 a.m. Sunday and end at 12 midnight the following Saturday and shall consist of 37 ½ hours of work. 8.2 YRS Employees shall be scheduled to work five days each work week, with each day consisting of seven and one-half (7 ½) hours of work exclusive of an unpaid duty-free period. No employee will be required to work more than five (5) consecutive days without a day off. In each twenty-eight day cycle, the employees will receive a total eight (8) days off, of which there will be a minimum of 1 week-end (Saturday and Sunday) and two consecutive days other than a week-end off. 8.2.1 Youth Rehabilitation Treatment Specialists at Xxxxxx School and the Residential Cottages will have every third weekend off. In the event that additional staff are made available at Xxxxxx School or the Residential Cottages or the staffing minimums change, the Union, the Division Director and the Superintendent of Xxxxxx and Residential Cottages shall meet to discuss scheduling. If a mutually agreeable schedule is identified, it shall be implemented subject to change in accordance with this Article. 8.2.2 New Castle County Detention Center's and Xxxxxxxxx House's work schedule will remain the same, subject to change in accordance with Section 8.3. 8.3 The parties agree that work schedule changes and/or work flexibility may be necessary. Prior to any permanent change in existing work schedules, the State will give the Union forty- five (45) calendar days advance notice. Within seven (7) calendar days after the notice date, the State and the Union will meet to discuss the changes and explore options and alternatives. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours of work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this Article). The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (b) (applicable to part-time employees only) The normal or standard work day shall be seven and one-half (7½) hours per day and the normal or standard full- time work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one- half (37½) hours per week except in those hospitals where agreements already provide a normal or standard work day of less than seven and one-half hours and a normal or standard full-time work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this article.) Part-time employees shall be entitled to overtime pay at the rate of time and one-half their regular straight time hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day or in excess of the normal or standard full-time work week. The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (c) Where the Hospital and the Union agree, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Labour, other arrangements regarding hours of work may be entered into between parties on a local level with respect to tours beyond the normal or standard work day in accordance with the provisions set out in Article 25.01 of the collective agreement.

  • Work Schedules Workweeks and work shifts of different numbers of hours may be established by the Employer in order to meet business and customer service needs, as long as the work schedules meet federal and state laws.

  • Standard Work Week The standard work week for full-time employees covered by this Agreement shall be forty (40) hours, exclusive of the time allotted for meal periods, consisting of five (5) consecutive work days followed by two (2) consecutive days off. The week shall commence with the shift that includes 12:01 A.M. Sunday of each calendar week and end at the start of the shift that includes 12:00 midnight the following Saturday. The Employer retains the right to modify the work schedules to meet operational needs.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • Flexible Work Schedules An employee may request a modification of their current work schedule to another schedule. The Employer, or its designees, may approve or deny flexible work schedules and retain the responsibility for determining exemptions from, or terminations of, flexible work schedules which adversely affect the operation of the Minnesota Judicial Branch or the level of service to the public.

  • Alternative Work Schedules Employees may request alternative work schedules such as a nine (9) day - 80 hour two week schedule or a four (4) day - 40 hour week schedule. Management will respond to an employee's request within 15 calendar days. Any changes from existing work schedules will be based on the needs of the service as determined by Management. Employees covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act will not be placed on alternate work schedules that mandate the payment of overtime under the Act.

  • HOURS OF WORK AND SCHEDULING 15.01 The normal hours of work for an employee are not a guarantee of work per day or per week, or a guarantee of days of work per week. The normal hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7-1/2) hours per day, and seventy-five (75) hours in any bi-weekly period. 15.02 The normal daily shift shall consist of seven and one-half (7 ½) consecutive hours, exclusive of a one-half (1/2) hour unpaid meal period. For employees working the night shift, this one-half (1/2) hour will be paid. Employees shall be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute paid break during each half of the normal daily shift, at a time designated by the Employer. An employee may combine her rest periods in order to have one (1) thirty (30) minute break, providing she has prior approval from the Director of Nursing. When a meal period is interrupted requiring an employee to attend to a work related problem, then the balance of the unused meal period will be taken within two (2) hours of the interruption. If the employee is unable to reschedule such time, she shall be paid time and one-half (1½) her regular straight time hourly rate for all time worked in excess of her normal daily hours, in accordance with Article 16.01. 15.03 Employees required for reporting purposes shall remain at work for a period of up to fifteen (15) minutes which shall be unpaid. Should the reporting time extend beyond fifteen (15) minutes however, the entire period shall be considered overtime for the purposes of payment. 15.04 Requests for change in posted work schedules must be submitted in writing and co-signed by the employee willing to exchange days off or shifts and are subject to the discretion of the Administrator or her designate. In any event, it is understood that such a change initiated by the employee and approved by the Employer shall not result in overtime compensation or payment or any other claims on the Employer by any employee under the terms of this Agreement. 15.05 Where there is a change to Daylight Savings from Standard Time or vice-versa, an employee who is scheduled and works a full shift shall be paid for the actual hours worked at her regular straight time hourly rate. 15.06 There shall be no split shifts. (a) There shall be a minimum of sixteen (16) hours off between changes of shift unless mutually agreed otherwise. (b) An employee shall not be required to work more than seven (7) consecutive days without days off, unless mutually agreed to by the employee and the Employer. (a) Any employee who is working a permanent shift as of December 31, 1996 shall not be transferred to another shift without their consent.   • Regular Work Schedules The regular work schedule for overtime-eligible employees will not be more than forty (40) hours in a workweek, with two (2) consecutive calendar days off and starting and ending times as determined by the requirements of the position and the Employer.
