ABSORBING OVERTIME. Employees shall not be required to suspend work during their normal working hours for the purpose of absorbing overtime.
ABSORBING OVERTIME. Employees will not be required to suspend work during regular working hours to absorb overtime. When a signal crew or employees in a signal shop are needed for work outside regular working hours and such work does not require all the members of that crew or shop, the senior qualified employee(s) will be given preference to the overtime, with the obligation to work such overtime being applied in reverse seniority order. It is recognized that situations may arise that will require immediate action and employees assigned to a specific project, such as the wiring of a bungalow in a shop, may be required to complete the project on an overtime basis without regard to the seniority preference for overtime work in order to expedite completion and field installation.

ABSORBING OVERTIME. No employee will be required to stop work after starting a regular assigned work period, for the purpose of absorbing overtime.
ABSORBING OVERTIME. Distribution Of Overtime-ME (a) When it becomes necessary for employees to work overtime they shall not be laid off during regular working hours to equalize the time. (b) Records of overtime worked will be kept jointly by the local committee and the local management, with the purpose in view of distributing overtime equally among the qualified employees. (c) The supervisor in charge at the point where it is necessary to work overtime will advise the local committee the number of employees needed to work on a specified job, and the local committee will arrange to supply the necessary qualified employees. In the event management uses other than the employees selected by the local committee, the matter will be resolved through the usual grievance procedure. (d) The employee so assigned may be continued on the work in question until it is completed or until relieved. Relief employees, if on overtime, will be chosen from those who are not in double-time period. (e) It is understood that when an employee is regularly assigned to work on Sundays as part of his/her regular assignment, such days will not be considered as overtime work.

  • Daily Overtime All employees shall be paid the applicable overtime rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) for all time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day.

  • HOURS AND OVERTIME A. Workweek The workweek shall consist of no more than five (5) consecutive days of eight (8) hours/day. This Article shall not restrict the extension of the regular workday or workweek on an overtime basis when such is necessary to carry on the business of the District. The District may establish a ten (10) hour/day, four (4) day work week for all or certain classes of its employees or for employees within a class if the District and the affected employees mutually agree to such a calendar. The President of CSEA Ceres #140 will be notified prior to implementing such a change. B. Work Year All employees will be required to complete a Positive Work Year Calendar for the following year. Notwithstanding any other provisions in this agreement, the work year for school site based ten (10) month employees may be assigned to begin up to fifteen (15) workdays earlier than the first student instructional day. C. Workday An employee with prior approval by his/her supervisor or a supervisor with the approval of the employee may modify the employee’s workday to accommodate a short-term (maximum thirty (30) calendar days) special need, but in no case will the number of hours worked that day be less than assigned. If an agreement cannot be reached, an employee’s supervisor may modify an employee’s workday to accommodate a short-term (maximum thirty (30) calendar days) special need, but in no case will the number of hours worked that day be less than assigned. The employee shall receive no less than a 3 work day prior written notice of the workday change. On an annual basis, a supervisor may modify an employee’s workday (starting and ending times) by no more than 30 minutes without the employee’s permission upon receiving the prior approval of an Assistant Superintendent. The employee shall receive written notice at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to this change taking place. CSEA will be consulted. D. Lunch Periods All employees covered by this Agreement shall be entitled to an uninterrupted lunch period after the employee has been on duty for four (4) hours. The length of time for such lunch shall be for a period of no longer than one hour nor less than one-half (1/2) hour and shall be scheduled for full-time employees at or about the midpoint of each work shift. This also applies to overtime assignments of four hours or more.

  • LESSOR'S ACCESS; SHOWING PREMISES; REPAIRS Lessor and Lessor's agents shall have the right to enter the Premises at any time, in the case of an emergency, and otherwise at reasonable times for the purpose of showing the same to prospective purchasers, lenders, or lessees, and making such alterations, repairs, improvements or additions to the Premises or to the Building, as Lessor may reasonably deem necessary. Lessor may at any time place on or about the Premises or Building any ordinary "For Sale" signs and Lessor may at any time during the last one hundred eighty (180) days of the term hereof place on or about the Premises any ordinary "For Lease" signs. All such activities of Lessor shall be without abatement of rent or liability to Lessee.

  • Overtime Overtime will begin to accrue after sixty (60) hours in a two (2) week period averaged over the scheduling period determined by the local parties. Overtime will apply if the employee works in excess of the normal daily hours. Payment for overtime is as in Article 16.01.

  • Mandatory Overtime a. Mandatory Overtime is overtime that an employee is assigned and required to work involuntarily, and will only be required in operational emergencies when sufficient voluntary overtime cannot be secured to maintain the Company’s operation. Mandatory overtime will be limited to the number of employees and hours required to cover the emergency as determined by local management. b. Mandatory overtime will not exceed 4 hours past an employee’s scheduled shift in any 24 hour period. Employees will not be required to work mandatory overtime until the opportunity to work the additional hours has been offered to all qualified employees who are currently at work, and if there are an insufficient number of volunteers, then to otherwise eligible employees whose names remain on the overtime call sign up list. c. Mandatory overtime will be assigned in reverse bid seniority order according to shift time, except that employees already working overtime will be assigned last. d. Every attempt will be made to notify employees on duty of mandatory overtime at least 1 hour in advance. If 1 hour’s advance notice is not provided, the employee will receive 1 ½ hours’ pay as a penalty in addition to the pay earned for any mandatory overtime hours actually worked. e. Employees will not be assigned mandatory overtime during their vacation periods. For this purpose, the vacation period is defined as the period beginning 24 hours after the commencement of the employee’s last regularly scheduled shift before the vacation commenced. An employee may be assigned to mandatory overtime on the last regularly assigned shift prior to a vacation or DAT day, but will be placed at the bottom of the mandatory overtime list. f. If any mandatory overtime causes a rest period violation to occur, every attempt will be made to adjust the employee’s shift to provide the minimum 8 hours rest. g. All mandatory overtime hours will be paid at the applicable rate of pay but not less than the time and one half (1.5X) rate of pay regardless of work status or hours worked. If an employee is required to work mandatory overtime on two or more consecutive days, the minimum payment for all mandatory overtime hours worked will be at the double-time (2X) rate of pay.

  • Sharing of Overtime Overtime work shall be allocated equitably to qualified employees considering their availability and location.

  • Emergency Overtime In the event of an emergency as defined in Section 13.15 notwithstanding the terms of this Article, the Agency Head or designee may assign someone to temporarily meet the emergency requirements, regardless of the overtime distribution.
