Dues and Payroll Deduction. A. The District agrees, to deduct Association (NEA, OEA, ECBC, WEA) dues monthly for any employee in ten (10) monthly payments. Prior to the first dues deduction of the year, and then for any employee who becomes a member of the Association after the start of the school year, the Association will notify the District of bargaining unit members who have elected to have dues deducted from their paychecks and will identify the dues to be deducted from each. The Association will also notify the District when a bargaining unit member should no longer have dues deducted. Within 10 days after each pay period that dues are deducted, the District shall send OEA a single payment of the combined OEA/NEA dues, including voluntary Association contributions and provide the Association a roster of employees’ dues in the agreed upon electronic format along with each payment. Within 10 days after each pay period that dues are deducted, WEA dues will be sent to the Treasurer of the WEA. By September 30, the District will provide to the OEA Membership Specialist an Excel compatible database of each employee in the bargaining unit, both active members and non-members, that includes the last four digits of their social security number, employee ID, date of birth, first date of service, FTE, classification or title, PERS classification, worksite, position on the salary schedule, residential address, and personal phone number. Whenever a new employee is hired into the bargaining unit, or there are any changes to a current members position the District will provide the above information within thirty
Dues and Payroll Deduction. A. Upon appropriate written request from the teacher, the District shall deduct from the salary of any teacher and make appropriate remittance for approved deductions and those required by law, including insurance, credit union, annuities, Association dues and any other plans or programs jointly approved by the Association and the board.
B. Any employee who is a member of the Association may authorize deductions of membership dues in the Association (Local, OEA/NEA). Appropriate written request to deduct membership dues from an employee’s salary is accomplished by the employee providing the Association with written authorization to deduct dues from the employee’s monthly salary. The Association shall provide evidence of such authorization to the District which evidence will be retained and filed by the District. Such authorization shall continue in effect from year to year, unless revoked in writing as hereinafter provided. Pursuant to such authorization, the District shall deduct and remit the monthly dues from the regular salary check of the employee each month, beginning in October of each year. (Deductions for employees who join the Association after the commencement of the school year shall be appropriately prorated so that payments will be completed by the following June).
C. An employee may withdraw from membership payroll deductions by writing a letter to the office of the Association and to the office of Personnel and delivering between August 1 and October 1 of any year.
Dues and Payroll Deduction. 1. Any employee who is a member of the Association or who has applied for membership may sign and deliver personally or through the Association to the Superintendent, an assignment authorizing deductions of membership dues in the united teaching profession (i.e., Local, OEA-NEA). Such authorization shall continue in effect from year to year, unless revoked in writing prior to October 1 or thirty calendar days from the first contractual workday, whichever occurs first, as hereinafter provided. Pursuant to such authorization, the District shall deduct one-tenth of such dues from the first regular salary check of the employee each month for ten (10) months, beginning in September and ending in June of each year. Deductions for employees who join the Association after the commencement of the school year shall be appropriately prorated so payments will be completed by the following June.
2. Withdrawing the payroll deductions authorization for such dues may be accomplished by writing a letter to the office of the Association and to the office of the Superintendent and delivered on or before October 1 of the membership year.
3. Upon appropriate written request from the employee, the District shall deduct from the salary of any employee and make appropriate remittance to the credit union and designated insurance carrier.
4. The Association and individual employees shall hold the District harmless from any claims, costs or liabilities arising from compliance with this article, provided any District error is corrected within thirty (30) days of being brought to the District’s attention in writing.
Dues and Payroll Deduction. As stated in 2.6.1, this agreement does not change the rights of Staff hired before the signing date of this agreement to become Members and pay the associated dues, or resign membership in the Association. The Association’s membership dues are set by the Association in accordance with its By-laws The University agrees to administer the dues including collecting the dues amounts from the employee’s salary and remitting the amounts to the Association Subject to the requirements of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, the University agrees to collect Association dues from those who were hired before the signing date of this agreement and wish to maintain membership. The Association shall be responsible for collecting written consent from all Members who were hired before the signing of this Agreement. Copies of such written consent shall be provided to Human Resources so as to form part of their employee file. Effective the signing date of this agreement, the University agrees to add mandatory Association dues to employment contracts for employees who meet the definition of Staff as per section 2.1. when they are new hires. An employee may claim an exception to paying Association dues with a bona fide religious objection. To do this, they must file with the Association a sworn affidavit explaining the objection. The application will be considered by the Association and decided on within 20 work days. The decision to grant or refuse the exception shall be final. Where an exception has been granted, the dues must still be collected by the University however the dues shall be remitted to a registered Canadian charity mutually agreeable to the Association and the employee. The Association shall advise the University in writing of the amount of its fees, dues, or assessments, and shall provide the University with at least one month's written notice of any change to such amounts. The University shall remit the amounts deducted no later than the 15th day of the following month in which the deduction was made. At the same time, the University shall inform the Association in writing of the name of each person from whose salary an amount was deducted, the dollar value of that amount, and where the amount is being remitted to. The University may report the amounts deducted in aggregate form by USG paygrade. The University shall allow audit of payroll deductions when requested by the Association. Dues and Payroll Deduction. P-1 All Bargaining Unit Members will be paid through Direct Deposit at a bank designated by the employee. P-2 Professional association dues may be deducted over sixteen (16) successive pay periods upon authorization of the individual employee, with the first such deduction commencing within two (2) pay periods after the business office receives the authorization.

B. Deductions for employees who join the Association after the commencement of the school year shall be appropriately prorated.
C. An accurate listing of employees on Association dues deduction shall be provided to the designated Oregon Education Association office each month.
D. Upon appropriate written request, the District shall electronically deposit the member’s paychecks into his/her authorized banking institution. Such direct deposit shall be subject to District rules and criteria.
E. The Association agrees to hold the District harmless against any and all claims, suits, judgments or orders brought against the District as a result of this article.
F. Members shall be given a choice between ten (10) or twelve (12) paychecks each school year. Members shall be paid on the 20th of each month, September to June, or the workday nearest to the 20th if the 20th falls on a weekend, holiday, or extended break. The district shall continue its current practice of paying July and August paychecks to those members who choose twelve (12) paychecks on or before the last teacher workday in June.
Dues and Payroll Deduction. A. Any Association member may sign and deliver through the Association to the Superintendent/designee an assignment authorizing deductions of membership dues in the KFEA/OEA/NEA. Such authorization shall continue in effect from year to year, unless revoked in writing as hereinafter provided. Pursuant to such authorization, dues will be deducted for eleven (11) months in the following manner:
1. Local (KFEA) dues would be deducted from the September payroll.
2. NEA/OEA dues will be deducted beginning with the October payroll and will be deducted over the next 10 pay periods.

Section 1 The Committee hereby accepts provisions of section 17C of Chapter 180 of the General Laws of Massachusetts, and in accordance herewith, shall certify to the Treasurer of Westford, all payroll deductions for the payment of dues to the Association duly authorized by employees covered by the contract.
1. All employees who are members of the Westford Education Association and covered by this contract will have the option to have a scheduled amount of dues deducted from their salary bi-weekly.
2. All employees who are covered by the Unit E Contract shall be required, as a condition of their employment, to pay an agency service fee, unless they become members of the Association, within thirty (30) days of the beginning of the school year.
a. Said fee will be in an amount determined in accordance with all state and federal laws and regulations, and shall reflect the costs of collective bargaining, contract administration, and other permissible charges. No money collected from the Agency Fee shall be applied to political lobbying by the Westford Education Association, Massachusetts Teachers Association, or National Education Association.
b. The collection of the fee shall be the sole responsibility of the Association. The Committee shall not be responsible for the implementation, collection, or enforcement of the fee with the exception that the Superintendent’s office will supply, on request by the Association, a confirmation of employment status for individuals.
c. Personnel on one-year appointments (interim status) shall not be required to pay the Agency Fee. Employees who are less than full-time shall pay a prorated Agency Fee based on their employment status.
d. The sole remedy available to the Association to enforce payment of the Agency Fee shall be to proceed to court for collection of the fee. The Committee will not be required to take any action regarding the employment status of an individual who refuses to pay the Agency Fee.
e. Personnel on salaried leave shall be required to pay an annual agency fee proportional to the salary they are receiving. Personnel on unsalaried leave shall not be required to pay an Agency Fee.
f. The Agency Fee language of this contract will pertain to all Unit E employees effective upon the commencement of this agreement.

Dues and Payroll Deduction. A. The Board agrees to deduct from the pay of any administrator all dues and/or initiation fees of LASA, provided, however, that LASA presents to the Board authorizations, signed by such administrator, allowing such deductions and payments to the LASA.
B. The amount of initiation fee and dues will be certified to the Board by the Secretary/Treasurer of LASA. Deductions shall be made the first pay period of each month, provided that deductions for such initiation fee and dues will not supersede any legally required deductions or deductions authorized prior to the date of this Agreement and the Board shall not be required to make any check-off for membership dues if the administrator's pay is not sufficient to cover the initiation fee and membership dues in any pay period. The Payroll Office shall not be required to honor any month's deduction of any authorizations delivered to the Payroll Office later than two (2) weeks prior to the distribution of the payroll from which the deductions are to be made. The LASA assumes full responsibility for the disposition of the initiation fee and dues so made, once they have been sent to the LASA Secretary/Treasurer.
C. Payroll deductions and reductions are also available for the following purposes upon written authorization of the administrator:
1. U.S. savings bonds and/or Freedom Shares;
2. United Fund contributions;
3. Capital Area School Employees Credit Union;
4. Tax sheltered annuities as registered with the business office;
5. Other purposes approved by the Board.
Dues and Payroll Deduction. A. The District agrees, upon receipt of written authorization, to deduct Association (NEA, OEA, ECBC, WEA) dues monthly for any employee in ten (10) monthly payments. Authorization must be received in the District Administration Office no later than October 1. Such authorization shall continue in effect unless revoked in writing by the employee, in which case Article 20, Association Security/Payment in Lieu of Dues, shall apply. The District shall provide the Association a roster of employees’ dues and payment in lieu of dues in the agreed upon electronic format along with each payment.
B. In the event that the fair share agreement (Article 20) of this Agreement is determined to be impermissible pursuant to changes in state law or federal law, the parties agree to the following:
1. All employees in the bargaining unit who become members of the Association shall remain members of the Association during the term of this Agreement.
2. This provision does not apply to any Association member, who within the month of September of each contract year, withdraws from the Association by sending a signed withdrawal statement to the Association and to the District.
C. The District agrees to provide payroll deduction for the following: OnPoint Credit Union United Way Group Insurance Dues District Approved Voluntary Tax Sheltered Annuities Military Tax Sheltered Annuities (USAA) OEA PIE OEA Foundation Other programs the District, after consultation with the Association, makes available.
1. Any changes in the current 403 B offerings shall be achieved through meaningful consultation with the Association.
2. It is understood that the District will not be held liable for any errors in these deductions, but will make any proper corrections.
D. Salary checks shall be available fourth Friday of September, October, January, February, April and May; on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving; and on the last day of school before the Winter and Spring vacation unless it is beyond District control. Checks for June, July and August will be available on the last day contracted and after all job requirements have been fulfilled. Teachers shall have the option of receiving their July and August paychecks on the fourth Friday of those months.
E. In accordance with present practice, direct bank depositing shall be provided by the District so long as it does not result in direct bank charges to the District.
