Full-Time Faculty. A faculty member who performs a full load as defined herein for an Academic Year and is contracted on an annual basis in a tenure-track, tenured or temporary faculty position as described in Article 11.

Full-Time Faculty. Full-time academic employees under annual contract are entitled to two (2) non-accumulative personal leave days per instructional year commencing the first day of their contract. Full-time academic employees who are working under contracts that are less than one academic year in duration are entitled to one (1) personal leave day per quarter up to a maximum of two (2) personal leave days per academic year.
Full-Time Faculty. It is the goal of the District to provide compensation near to the 35th placement of those provided by all California community colleges. In FY 2006/07 a longevity increment was established. Beginning July 1, 2006 the salary schedule in Appendix A was amended. Steps 20-22 were added to the Schedule. Each Step is a year interval of earned STRS and District service; there is no unit or co-curricular requirement for Steps 20-22 and there is no salary increment for Steps 20-21. A salary increment is added to Step 22, Track II, Track III, Track IV and Track V.
Full-Time Faculty a) Prior to the evaluation of a full-time faculty member, the first-level manager or designee shall meet with the evaluatee to discuss the criteria, procedures, and timelines (including classroom visits and non-classroom observations) for the evaluation. b) For full-time faculty, the first-level manager shall inform the evaluators of the summary comments, commendations, and recommendations made on the evaluatee’s previous satisfactory evaluation or reevaluation. c) In the event that no faculty or subject specialist is available at the District to serve on a Faculty Evaluation Committee, it is the District's responsibility to secure such services. The selection of the non-district subject specialist shall be done in consultation with the evaluatee. d) Prior to the evaluation of a full-time faculty member, the Faculty Evaluation Committee shall elect a chair. The chair shall coordinate with the first-level manager or designee to collect evaluation materials identified in Section 20.5.3.a.2 or Section 20.8.2.a.2, as appropriate, and compile the Faculty Evaluation Committee’s evaluations. The committee chair shall make every reasonable effort to complete the compilation at least one (1) week in advance of the conference with the evaluatee. e) When the compilation is complete, the chair will distribute it to all evaluators, who will meet as soon as possible to discuss the evaluation results and prepare the summary evaluation report.
Full-Time Faculty. 1. The actual credit-student load carried by an instructor varies, depending on: the discipline which is taught; the nature of the course; the number of students in the class; and the teaching requirements at Big Bend Community College. 2. In defining teaching loads the College utilizes traditional concepts of what constitutes a full-time teaching load, averages, and other data experienced in community colleges in the state system, suggested load assignments from various professional associations, and studies made by other community colleges. All these factors are mutually considered by the administration and faculty in resolving teaching load issues. In all cases, student need will dictate scheduling and load requirements. 3. Academic employees hired before June 30, 1999 will be assigned classes under the Article XIV A.3 provisions of the 1998-99 Negotiated Agreement as found in Appendix A. 4. A normal full-time teaching load may be made up of a combination of day and alternative classes each quarter during the academic year (Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters). Alternative classes are considered to be courses taught fully online, in the evening, on Fridays or Saturdays, or in a hybrid format. The schedule will be determined by the supervising xxxx or the VP of Learning & Student Success, in consultation with the academic employee. eLearning courses may be part of an Academic Employee’s full- time teaching load or an overload assignment. 5. To ensure a sufficient presence on campus, unless authorized by the VP of Learning & Student Success, full-time Academic Employees shall teach a minimum of one-third (1/3) of their teaching load per quarter as traditional (face-to-face) classes. 6. Faculty hired after July 1, 2016 may be required by the college to teach a course in an alternative format if it meets the needs of the department or student population in agreement with the affected faculty and Division Chair. Evening assignments will not be followed the next day of the week with a class beginning before 11:45 a.m. without concurrence of the faculty member. Alternate day (Friday and/or Saturday) classes are assigned only in full agreement with the affected faculty member. 7. With the consent of the individual faculty member, based on student/college need, the contractual obligations to the college may include non-credit courses, workshops, seminars, or other community service type activities. 8. Full-Time Faculty a. Human resources, with input from the departmental faculty as available and the Vice President of Instruction, shall prepare a position announcement. If the department faculty is not available, a faculty member from the division will have an opportunity to provide input. Any subsequent significant changes made to the position announcement will be determined by the appropriate administrator with input from departmental faculty. The AHE President will be notified of pending position announcement. b. The position announcement for all full-time faculty positions shall be officially posted internally for five days. Should a qualified faculty member desire the position being announced, he/she shall be given the opportunity to meet with the District President to discuss the position or transfer. If a qualified faculty member has expressed an interest, the District President has five days to decide whether or not to make an appointment. “Qualified faculty member” for the purposes of this section shall include all WVC faculty, tenured, probationary, or temporary full time, who are contracted on an annual basis at the time of posting. The District President will make the final decision. c. If the District President does not appoint a current qualified faculty member within five days of the close of the internal posting, the position will be advertised externally by the District Human Resources office in accordance with District procedures. d. Each applicant must submit a complete application file as defined in the announcement by the announced closing date. e. The screening committee will consist of: the appropriate administrator; three faculty members, tenured when available, including one member from the teaching area of the division being recruited, if available, and two other faculty members; and the Vice President of Instruction. The Vice President of Instruction is an ex-officio member and has the right to participate in the screening committee or meet separately with the candidates. A human resource representative will also be present in addition to the voting members. Faculty members will be appointed by the AHE President per Article 6. f. Members of the screening committee are responsible for sharing supplemental information with the committee that is relevant to the hiring decision. Full-Time Faculty. The term “Full Time Faculty” as used in this Agreement refers to full-time, regular appointments to an academic rank in a college or academic division within the CCSNH as an Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. These positions are salaried appointments and are exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
