PARAMEDIC TRAINING. The Employer has the right to require Employees hired after September 1, 1989, to obtain and to retain paramedic certification, which it finds appropriate, as a condition of employment. When the Department requires training for paramedics and that training is not available in-house, the Department must pay for the training and the Employee(s) will be compensated for the time they are in the class.
PARAMEDIC TRAINING. Replace existing 2125.96 with the following: The Parties recognize the importance of providing the citizens of Toledo advanced life support (“ALS”) protection. To do so there shall be a minimum of two hundred fifty (250) certified Local 92 paramedics. Achieving and maintaining the two hundred fifty (250) minimum number shall be done starting with volunteers and mandating, only if there is an insufficient number of volunteers, by reverse seniority. This training program shall be done according to the following provisions: - As long as there are two hundred fifty (250) certified Local 92 paramedics becoming a paramedic shall be voluntary; - If the total number of Local 92 paramedics falls below two hundred fifty (250), existing Local 92 members first shall have the option of volunteering to become certified; if there is an insufficient number of volunteers then the department shall have the authority to mandate paramedic certification via reverse seniority; - The City shall pay for the paramedic training for Local 92 members who either volunteer or are mandated to undergo paramedic training. The city shall only be required to pay for one (1) paramedic training per Local 92 member; - The City shall reimburse the member for up to three (3) NREMTP exam attempts if necessary. Any refresher course or subsequent exams shall be at the expense of the member; - Local 92 members who either volunteer or are mandated and elect to undergo their paramedic certification through the TFRD Paramedic Program shall be detailed to a life- squad on duty as a “3rd” rider, to satisfy the certification ride time of the program. Local 92 members also may opt to complete ride time hours on their own time (ie, scheduled days off). It is understood that all other paramedic training, other than ride time, shall be completed off duty, on the member’s own time. - A joint committee shall recommend a list of outside paramedic programs. Any approval of an outside program shall be at the Chief’s discretion; - A Local 92 member who opts to receive paramedic training from an approved program outside of TFRD’s programs shall be reimbursed after successful completion of NREMTP certification; members who attend an approved program that is semester or quarterly based will be reimbursed on a semester or quarterly basis but will not be reimbursed for the final semester or quarter until furnishing a valid NREMT-P Card. PARAMEDIC TRAINING. Paramedic personnel shall meet all qualifications for certification as set forth by the State of California and/or Los Angeles County Health Services. These include, but are not limited to, continuing education and successful passing of re-certification exams. Paramedic personnel shall make every effort to obtain required continuing education training during on-duty hours. Attendance at continuing education sessions not obtainable during on- duty hours, as well as medical consultations, depositions, or briefings, which may occur during off-duty hours and result from a duty assignment, shall be compensated at time and one half at the appropriate rate of pay. Travel expense or per diem to attend paramedic school will not be reimbursed unless and to the extent such expenses are reimbursed to the City. Applications for reimbursement shall be submitted and processed in accordance with the City’s Administrative Regulation. Transportation expenses incurred for other off-duty paramedic-related continuing education will be paid in accordance with the current mileage rate as stated in the Administrative Regulations (ARs).
PARAMEDIC TRAINING. Following adoption of this 2015-18 MOU, the City will establish a competitive process for which up to a maximum of four (4) current Firefighters as of January 1, 2016, will be selected, based on the operational needs of the Fire Department, to attend Paramedic school during the term of the MOU. Selected employees will be compensated at their normal rate of pay while attending school and during any clinical training. Following completion of school and clinical training, during the on-the-job training period employees shall receive 5% assignment pay. Following all training, employees will return to their normal rate of pay until such time as they are selected for Paramedic assignment. This section shall terminate upon the expiration of this MOU.

PARAMEDIC TRAINING. 1. An employee must receive prior approval from the Board of Fire Commissioners to enroll in a paramedic training program which will lead to certification as an EMT-Paramedic. The employee shall make a request for this approval in writing, describing the particulars of the training program and its cost, inclusive of tuition, books, and insurance. 2. Upon approval by the Board, the employee shall be eligible for reimbursement for the cost of the training program, inclusive of tuition, books and insurance, up to $10,000.00. 3. Upon successful completion of the Paramedic Training program, confirmation that the employee has passed the New York State EMT-Paramedic Test and the required Suffolk County REMAC Protocol Exam, the employee will receive reimbursement for authorized expenditures as follows: a. A first payment equal to 25% of the approved reimbursement. b. Upon completion of 9 months of continuous employment with the Terryville Fire District, from the date of the first payment, the employee will receive a second payment equal to 25% of the approved reimbursement. c. Upon completion of 18 months of continuous employment with the Terryville Fire District, from the date of the first payment, the employee will receive a third payment equal to 25% of the approved reimbursement. d. Upon completion of 27 months of continuous employment with the Terryville Fire District, from the date of the first payment, the employee will receive a fourth and final payment equal to 25% of the approved reimbursement.
PARAMEDIC TRAINING. 44.1 The County agrees to offer on-duty Paramedic training to one (1) officer and one (1) firefighter per shift at any given time. Members who participate in and complete the on-duty Paramedic training program agree to continue their employment with Pasco County for two (2) years after certification as a Florida State certified Paramedic. Any member, who leaves employment, other than for disability, prior to completing two (2) years shall reimburse the County for tuition associated with the Paramedic training program. All bargaining unit members with a minimum of four (4) years continuous employment as a firefighter with Pasco County shall be eligible for on- duty Paramedic training based upon seniority and the criteria set forth by MEMO 04-43 dated 06/24/04. 44.2 For employees hired after ratification of this agreement and consistent with the mutual desire for an integrated Fire Rescue System, eligibility for employment in a bargaining unit position shall be, at a minimum, a Florida State Certified Paramedic Certification or a Florida State Certified Firefighter with a Florida State Certified Paramedic Certification or an EMT certification provided any bargaining unit member shall obtain dual certification as a Florida State Certified Firefighter/Paramedic within thirty (30) months of their date of hire with the County unless mutually agreed by the County and the Union. Any bargaining unit member hired after ratification of this agreement that fails to obtain dual certification and privileges through Pasco County and function in that capacity at the end of the thirty (30) months may be separated from the agency. The following are the Selection Standards for the on-duty Paramedic Sponsorship Program. The Selection Standards Committee all agreed that the Paramedic Sponsorship Program, in order to be successful, must have the best-suited employees selected. It is understood that this program is not funded and should not cause overtime. This program will have the first priority over on-duty promotional classes, and it provides for in school class time, labs, and clinicals. The following are the established standards for this program: 1. One (1 officer and one (1) firefighter per shift will be allowed to attend. 2.   • Job Training ‌ The Employer and the Union shall establish a Joint Committee on Training and Skill Upgrading for the following purposes: (1) for planning training programs for those employees affected by technological change; (2) for planning training programs to enable employees to qualify for new positions being planned through future expansion or renovation; (3) for planning training programs for those employees affected by new methods of operation; (4) for planning training programs in the area of general skill upgrading. Whenever necessary, this Committee shall seek the assistance of external training resources such as the Federal Human Resources Development Canada and Provincial Ministry of Labour, or other recognized training institutions.

  • Technical Training The CAISO and the Participating TOs shall respond to reasonable requests for support and provide relevant technical training to each other’s employees to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the CAISO Controlled Grid and to comply with any NERC or WECC operator certification or training requirements. Examples of such technical training include, but are not limited to: (1) the theory or operation of new or modified equipment (e.g., control systems, Remedial Action Schemes, protective relays); (2) computer and applicator programs; and (3) CAISO (or Participating TO) requirements. The Parties shall enter into agreements regarding the timing, term, locations, and cost allocation for the training.

  • General Training 417. The City will use its best efforts to provide Local 21 represented employees with up to forty (40) hours of paid time off for job-related training and/or professional development, which shall include one day of professional development of an employee’s choice, not to be unreasonably denied. Such time may include departmental-sponsored training and/or professional development; DHR sponsored training and/or professional development; and/or outside training and/or professional development approved by appointing officer or designee.   • Safety Training Pursuant to Missouri Revised Statute Section 292.675, Contractors and subcontractors who sign a contract to work on public works projects must provide a 10-hour OSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project. Contractors and subcontractors in violation of this provision will forfeit to the public body $2,500 plus $100 a day for each employee who is employed without training. Public bodies and contractors may withhold/assess these penalties from the payment due to those contractors and subcontractors if found to be in non-compliance.
