Rostered Days Off (RDO. Except as provided elsewhere in this Agreement, where an Employee is working on a project the average ordinary working hours will be 36 hours per week, worked as follows:
Rostered Days Off (RDO. Leisure Days Off (LDO)
9.4.1 Employees working an average of 152 (38 hours) hours or 140 (35 hours) hours per 4 week cycle respectively will accrue one Rostered Day Off (RDO) / Leisure Day Off (LDO). To accrue time towards RDO/LDO employees are required to work 8 hours or 7 hours 22 minutes per day.
9.4.2 LDO/RDO time will apply in the following manner; Personal (Sick & Family) Leave Long Service Leave Public Holiday Bereavement/Compassionate Leave RDO/LDO Unpaid Leave Jury Duty Leave Phased in Retirement Leave Study Leave Maternity/Paternity Leave Workers Compensation Salary Continuance
9.4.3 The RDO/LDO is to be taken at a set time each four week period that meets the operational requirements of the City. It is the responsibility of management to ensure that staff are working the required hours to accrue a leisure day off.
9.4.4 An employee may, on a case by case basis, take a set RDO/LDO at a different time, providing satisfactory arrangements have been made with the employee‟s respective supervisor/manager/director.
9.4.5 No more than two RDO‟s/LDO‟s can be accrued at any one time. If an employee has more than two RDO/LDO‟s accrued the supervisor/manager/director can direct the employee to use the extra accrued leave, subject to the operational requirements of the City. If it is not convenient to the employer for the employee to use the extra accrued leave, the employee will be paid out the extra accrued leave at their ordinary pay rate.
Rostered Days Off (RDO a) Working hours will be arranged on a system that provides for an employee to accrue two rostered days off over a four calendar week work cycle. This will be done by the employee working 40 ordinary hours each week, being paid 36 hours ordinary pay and accruing four hours ordinary pay towards a RDO. This enables an employee to accrue two RDO’s per four week work cycle.
b) Accrued RDO’s may be taken concurrently with R&R leave provided that should an employee's services on the project be terminated with any such accrual not taken, the employee shall be given payment in lieu of that accrual.
Rostered Days Off (RDO. This Agreement is based on the concept of providing paid rest and recreational leave. Accordingly, no RDO’s are accrued or paid under this Agreement.
Rostered Days Off (RDO a) Unless varied as allowed above, in general Employees shall work 8 hour days (40 hour weeks) and accrue 2 hours per week to achieve 1 rostered days off per 4 week cycle. A new Employee will be eligible for an RDO after achieving 7.6 hours RDO accrual. It is recognised that not all Employees may want 1 rostered days off per month and provision is made below for the Employee to have discretion whether these rostered days off are taken each month, banked for future use or paid out to offset reduced hours of pay.
b) The parties agree to balance flexibility with certainty with regard to the use of this RDO accrual.
c) The management in regard to taking, working or banking of RDO’s is the responsibility of the Company.
d) RDO’s are usually taken at a time mutually agreed between the Employee and the Company, however:
(i) The Company may direct an Employee to take an RDO if their work site is closed for a site RDO or redirect an Employee to an alternative site.
(ii) It is recognised that there is merit in scheduling RDO’s adjacent to public holiday weekends and having these as non working weekends to enable quality paid leisure time. 1 week prior to a public holiday weekend, an Employee shall nominate to the Company that they wish to schedule an RDO. The Company shall approve any Employee RDO nomination unless it has a genuine client or operational reasons for not doing so.
(iii) RDO’s may be banked at a maximum of 5 days in any 12 month period; once 5 RDO’s have been banked they must be taken prior to Annual Leave being approved.
(iv) Upon termination of employment, any rostered days off banked by the Employee will be paid out at ordinary rates.
(v) Where an accrued RDO is to be taken, application for such time shall be sought giving at least 48 hours notice.
Rostered Days Off (RDO. 11.2.1 The ordinary weekly hours shall be an average of 38 hours per week (8 hours per day exclusive of meal breaks) worked over a 19 day month with a RDO accrued in each four week cycle.
11.2.2 On accruing an RDO it shall be taken at a time that is mutually agreeable between the University and employee. It is agreed a University roster system may apply.
11.2.3 No more than two RDOs should accrue in any 6 month period. If an employee’s RDOs exceed two days then the RDOs may:
a) be paid at out the ordinary hourly rate of pay at the end of each 6 month period if not able to be taken during that period;
b) be taken without loss of pay during specified months provided the days to be taken are suitable to the University;
c) be taken in conjunction with recreation leave.
11.2.4 Where agreement cannot be reached on taking the RDOs, the University may determine when an employee will take their accrued RDOs, subject to 14 days notice.
11.2.5 At all times, the University will maintain the right to determine the method by which the 38 hour week is worked. Any significant changes will be dealt with in accordance with the change management provisions.
Rostered Days Off (RDO a) Working hours will be arranged on a system which provides for an employee to accrue two (2) rostered days off over a four (4) week work cycle. This will be done by the employee working forty (40) ordinary hours each week, being paid thirty-six (36) hours ordinary pay and accruing four (4) hours ordinary pay towards a rostered day off.
b) Accumulated RDO’s are intended to be taken in conjunction with R& R leave.
c) At time of termination with the company, all rostered day off accruals shall be paid out at the employee’s ordinary rate of pay.
Rostered Days Off (RDO. (a) If an Employee or Employees are entitled to a rostered day off then the Employee or Employees must be advised by the Company:
(1) except where clause 11.4(c)(2) applies, at least four weeks before the day the Employee or Employees are to take off; or
(2) a lesser period of notice as agreed by the Company and an individual Employee where only that Employee is affected, or the majority of affected Employees.
(b) The Company, with the agreement of the majority of Employees affected, may move the RDO of these Employees to another day in the case of:
(1) a breakdown of machinery;
(2) a failure or shortage of electric power;
(3) meeting the requirements of the Mine; or
(4) an emergency situation.
(c) In the case of another day being substituted for the RDO, the new day becomes the RDO and the original day becomes an ordinary working day.
(d) An individual Employee, with the agreement of the Company, may substitute the day the Employee is to take off for another day.
(e) An Employee will not be required to work pre-shift overtime when resuming work immediately following a rostered day off. This does not apply to statutory officials whose non-attendance would affect the operations of the Mine.
Rostered Days Off (RDO. 24.6.1 Period of notice is to be given
Rostered Days Off (RDO. 36.1 A rostered day off occurs in the system of working a nine (9) day fortnight and is defined as a weekday Monday to Friday on which an employee is not required to work because the employee has worked additional time which has accrued towards a day off. The normal working arrangement for employees is nine (9) eight (8) hour days per fortnight and RDOs are normally taken on a Monday or Friday. This may be varied using a Workplace Flexibility Agreement.
36.1.1 Those employees working in the Contact Centre as Customer Service Representatives or Team Leaders with access to RDOs shall have their RDOs rostered on a rolling basis across Monday to Friday with a three (3) month timetable, based on business requirements.
36.2 Employees can accumulate up to five (5) RDOs which can be taken at any time subject to mutual agreement after having regard to the needs of the work area and the needs of the employees. When an employee takes more than two (2) consecutive RDOs and another employee acts in his/her job, then that employee shall be eligible for higher grade pay.
36.3 If employees need time off to look after a sick relative or for an emergency or unforseen event, they are encouraged to use accumulated RDOs or to take a RDO in advance. In all circumstances, the employee should provide his/her manager with as much notice as possible before commencing the absence.
36.4 RDOs may only be taken once they have been accrued. The number of RDOs which an employee may take in a year when four (4) weeks annual leave is taken, is limited to 24.
