Sick and Personal Leave. The Assistant Principal shall annually be entitled to twelve (12) days of sick leave and two (2) days of personal leave. Unused personal leave days will accumulate as sick leave days. Earned sick leave may accumulate to a maximum of 340 days. Every sick day that is issued for the current school year and eventually not utilized during that school year will be multiplied by 1.5 at the end of the school year (e.g., 10 unused sick days on June 30, 2022 will be converted in a credit of 15 sick days for the Assistant Principal’s use.) This unused sick day multiplier will not be in effect during the four (4) years prior to retirement.

Sick and Personal Leave. Payout Eligibility 4-1 At the time of termination, employees who have completed twenty (20) years of qualifying service will be eligible for a Sick and Personal Leave payout. Qualifying service will be measured to the last day of active employment unless the employee has an annual contract that has been fulfilled. In such case the last day of the contract year shall be used to determine service.

Sick and Personal Leave. A. Availability - Teachers/specialists (hereafter referred to as staff members) will have available beginning on the first day of school, ten (10) sick leave days and three (3) personal leave days. The days may be taken in half day increments and in no case may the two parts exceed the number of periods of the number of hours in the normal work day.
B. Use – Sick Leave
a) Sick Leave will be used in the normal manner up to the 10th day. After the 10th day, accumulated sick leave days are used for the current year. Any unused sick leave days will automatically be applied toward the staff member’s accumulated sick leave up to a total accumulation of 149 days.
b) Using an exchange rate of four (4) sick leave days for one (1) personal leave day, any staff member who has accumulated 149 sick leave days may exchange for a maximum of two (2) personal leave days in a given year. Any staff member who has accumulated 60 sick leave days may exchange for a maximum of one (1) personal leave day in any given year.
c) At the beginning of the school year staff members will receive $60.00 for each whole sick leave day over the allowed accumulated number added to their last paycheck. This bonus money shall not be considered as part of the staff member’s last year teaching salary under the early retirement bonus. Note: this last sentence only applies to unused sick leave days over the allowed accumulated number earned after September, 1989.
Sick and Personal Leave. The Superintendent shall be granted fifteen (15) sick leave days and, in addition, shall be granted four (4) personal leave days per year.
