Agency Background. Number of sworn officers: 33 Total Population in city/town or county: 17,000 Total Road Mileage: Highway: 45 Local: 20 Total: 65 The officers of the Xxxxxxx Police Department are responsible with insuring the safety of residents and visitors of the City of Douglas. Among these duties is the aggressive detection and investigation of impaired drivers. This responsibility primarily falls on the 22 officers that are assigned to the patrol division. The 3 to 5 patrol officers that are assigned to each shift are responsible for the safety of a city with a population of approximately 17,000 people. Additionally, Xxxxxxx is situated along the US/Mexico border where its bordered by its sister city of Agua Prieta, Sonora. Agua Prieta has much larger population of approximately 100,000 people, many of whom are daily border crossers. This, along with a large tourist population brought to the area by its rich history and scenic views can cause the population of Douglas to increase substantially. Federal 405d funds will support Personnel Services (Overtime), Employee Related Expenses, and Capital Outlay: Intox 9000 to enhance DUI/Impaired Driving Enforcement throughout the City of Douglas. Funding from the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety can help deploy additional officers to combat impaired driving and create a safer city.

A large portion of these residents frequent Xxxxxxx for business, work, education, etc. The City of Douglas' historic past also attracts tourist from surrounding states and other Arizona cities/ communities. The City of Xxxxxxx Police Department tasked with the traffic safety within the cities limits, & assists county and state agencies with traffic enforcement along the adjacent highway system. The City of Douglas has in total 12 school campuses (district and charter) throughout the municipality. Three high school, three middle schools, and six elementary schools host children from within the City, surrounding communities, and the adjacent city of Agua Prieta, Sonora. The City has two distinct business districts. The historic district host visitors from throughout the state of Arizona and surrounding states as a tourist attraction. The more modern business district is available for the community members and the above mentioned for various business needs. During a typical shift, this Agency deploys three to four officers to answer calls for service (criminal and civil) and are responsible for the traffic safety of the motoring public. Funding from the Arizona Governor's Officer of Highway Safety would enable this Agency to deploy an additional two to three officers twice weekly during peak traffic hours to aggressively seek and enforce traffic safety laws with a focus on occupant safety violations such as seatbelt, child seat, distracted driver, & speed violations. Federal 405b funds will support Personnel Services (Overtime), and Employee Related Expenses to enhance Occupant Protection Enforcement throughout the City of Douglas.

The City of Douglas is situated within a rural location along the southeastern corner of Arizona, bordering the U.S./ Mexican Border. The adjacent city is Agua Prieta Sonora, Mexico; which boasts a much larger population of over 100,000 residents, many of whom are border crossers. Due to various reason (School, Business, and tourism), the City's motoring and pedestrian traffic can swell to much larger proportions for a city of similar size. This Police Department which serves this community is allotted 33 sworn officers, 22 of which are assigned to the Patrol division. Of the 22 officers; only one has currently been trained in Accident Reconstruction, which was primarily received in the years 2010 to 2011. Federal 402 funds will support Professional and Outside Services to enhance Accident Investigation throughout the City of Xxxxxxx.

  • Background Screening VENDOR shall comply with all requirements of Sections 1012.32 and 1012.465, Florida Statutes, and all of its personnel who (1) are to be permitted access to school grounds when students are present, (2) will have direct contact with students, or (3) have access or control of school funds, will successfully complete the background screening required by the referenced statutes and meet the standards established by the statutes. This background screening will be conducted by SBBC in advance of VENDOR or its personnel providing any services under the conditions described in the previous sentence. VENDOR shall bear the cost of acquiring the background screening required by Section 1012.32, Florida Statutes, and any fee imposed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to maintain the fingerprints provided with respect to VENDOR and its personnel. The parties agree that the failure of VENDOR to perform any of the duties described in this section shall constitute a material breach of this Agreement entitling SBBC to terminate immediately with no further responsibilities or duties to perform under this Agreement. VENDOR agrees to indemnify and hold harmless SBBC, its officers and employees from any liability in the form of physical or mental injury, death or property damage resulting from VENDOR’s failure to comply with the requirements of this section or with Sections 1012.32 and 1012.465, Florida Statutes.

The System Agency may review, test, evaluate and monitor Grantee’s Products and services, as well as associated documentation and technical support for compliance with the Accessibility Standards. Review, testing, evaluation and monitoring may be conducted before and after the award of a contract. Testing and monitoring may include user acceptance testing. Neither the review, testing (including acceptance testing), evaluation or monitoring of any Product or service, nor the absence of review, testing, evaluation or monitoring, will result in a waiver of the State’s right to contest the Grantee’s assertion of compliance with the Accessibility Standards. 2. Grantee agrees to cooperate fully and provide the System Agency and its representatives timely access to Products, records, and other items and information needed to conduct such review, evaluation, testing, and monitoring.
