GENERAL SENIORITY. General seniority is defined as the overall length of service with the CITY and shall be used to establish pensions, vacation rights, lay-off and recall rights, and any other general benefits not specifically limited to a Department. In the event of lay off and recall, consolidation of work, or elimination of jobs, it shall be done by general seniority.

Section 4: No unit employee will work part-time in the office or as a road supervisor or radio dispatcher and part-time as an operator in order to learn supervision.

GENERAL SENIORITY. Length of continuous service with the district from the date of original employment in a capacity covered by this Contractual Agreement.
GENERAL SENIORITY. SECTION 1 The seniority and date of employment of all employees shall be deemed to be correctly established as of the effective date of this agreement.
SECTION 2 The seniority of an employee shall be determined on date of employment in a specific job classification. Employees may not hold seniority in more than one (1) department of the City. Seniority may not be transferred from one department to another. All seniority rules under civil service will remain in effect.
GENERAL SENIORITY. A6.01 On lay-offs, the Company shall apply the principle of "last-on, first off" provided, however, that this Agreement shall not interfere with the maintenance of an efficient work force. On rehiring, the principal of "last-off, first-on" shall be applied in the same way and subject to the same proviso. Seniority shall be Company-wide. On lay-offs of more than three (3) days, seniority may be used to bump into other terminals anddepartments, subject to a ten (10) days probationary period. An employee bumping in accordance with this Article shall commence working in the Terminal to which he is bumping as a junior employee for the duration of the bid for preference of work only. He shall retain his seniority for the purpose of lay-off, vacations and benefits. In the event that the lay-off extends for more than twelve (12) months, an employee having bumped into another terminal shall then acquire his original seniority at that Terminal. In the event that work becomes available at his home Terminal prior to the end of the twelve (12) month period, an employee may return to his home Terminal if he desires. In the event an employee decides not to return to his home Terminal, the Terminal to which he has bumped shall become his home Terminal. Where an employee does not return to work within seven (7) calendar days of receiving his recall notice by registered mail he will have been deemed to have quit. The Company reserves the right to employ casual labour until such time as the employee reports for work.
A6.02 Subject to 6.01, seniority shall be the determining factor in a lay-off, subject to the employee having the ability required to do the job. Before lay-off of an employee out of his seniority order, the Company shall notify the Union.
A6.03 The Company shall post seniority lists every three (3) months with copies to Stewards and Union officials.
A6.04 Employees shall be regarded as on probation for the first sixty (60) calendar days of their employment. Upon completion of the probationary period, the employee's seniority shall be retroactive to the most recent date of hire.
(a) Probationary employees will work under the operational provisions of this Agreement during their probationary period, except that such employees may be terminated by the Company for performance deemed by it to be inadequate, or for incompatibility with management or fellow employees. GENERAL SENIORITY. An employee designated by the Union to serve as a full-time officer or employee of the Union shall be granted leave without pay for the duration of such office. During the period of such leave, the employee shall continue to accrue seniority as defined in Article 12 Seniority of this Agreement.
Section 2: For all purposes relating to seniority, two (2) departments of the Company shall be recognized, namely the Bargaining Units identified as the Operating Department and the Fueler/Cleaner Department. The departmental seniority of all employees covered by this Agreement shall be determined by the length of their continuous service in within their assigned department of the Bargaining Unit. Employees may not hold seniority in more than one (1) department of the Company. Classification seniority for part- time and full-time employees within their department shall be by their own seniority roster.
Section 3: The Company agrees to keep posted in an accessible place an up-to-date and revised seniority roster showing the name, date of hire seniority and seniority standing of all employees coming within the scope of this Agreement.
Section 4: All non-bargaining unit positions that become available at the Company's facility will be posted and any employee will be allowed to apply. Such postings will be for four (4) business days. The Company will be allowed to advertise outside the Company for such positions.
GENERAL SENIORITY. 1. General seniority shall be defined as an employee’s total continuous time of service with the City less any time on leave of absence without pay or any time on layoff status. Leaves of absence without pay, disability leaves of absence without pay or periods of layoff in excess of the first cumulative thirty (30) working days in a calendar year shall not qualify as service time. Military leave shall be counted as service time as provided by law. If ties occur, cutting cards will determine the tiebreaker.
2. Employees serving their initial probationary period who are displaced by layoff shall be terminated without bumping rights.
3. Continuous service and seniority shall be considered broken when an employee is absent from duty without authorization for three (3) consecutive days, resigns, or is discharged for any justifiable cause.
GENERAL SENIORITY. Section 1: Seniority shall mean the length of time an employee has been employed as an employee in this system based on the date of hire. The seniority roster will be used to conduct the system bid once per year, when employees select their work location. After the system bid, employees will be placed on two (2) separate seniority rosters (one (1) at Tempe and one (1) at Mesa). Each yard will conduct division bids based on the seniority roster established on each property. The seniority of all employees shall be deemed to be correctly established as of the effective date of this Agreement, indisputable errors excepted. If two or more individuals have the same date of hire seniority, the employee’s seniority position will be determined by the Union.
Section 2: For all purposes relating to seniority, two (2) departments of the Company shall be recognized; namely the Operations Department and the Service Worker Department. The length of their continuous service within their assigned department of the bargaining unit shall determine the seniority of all employees covered by this Agreement. Section 3: There shall be no transferring of employees into the bargaining unit from other properties or entities of the Company. All new employees will go to the bottom of the system seniority and can be assigned to either division until the next system bid. The Union will draw straws at the graduation of all new hires to determine the seniority of all new hires being added to the system seniority list.
Section 4: The Company agrees to provide an electronic copy to the Union and keep posted in an accessible place an up-to-date and revised seniority roster showing the name, date of employment, and seniority standing of all employees coming within the scope of this Agreement.
GENERAL SENIORITY. (a) The date of placement on the payroll of the Company in any capacity shall determine general seniority for each employee for so long as he remains with the Company (layoffs and the first sixty (60) days of leave of absence disregarded). If two (2) or more employees are hired on the same date in the same department, their general seniority order shall be determined by lot except that any employee transferred from one department to another shall fall behind an employee in that department whose general seniority is based on the same date of placement on the payroll.
(b) Former MTA LI Bus employees who are hired by the Company at the outset of operations on January 1, 2012 shall retain the seniority and the relative seniority standing they accrued with MTA for all purposes including general and department seniority.
