Leave Records. A. Included with the first pay of each contract year will be an accurate record of all accumulated, unused paid leaves available to the employee (e.g. sick leave, personal leave, professional leave, etc.).

The Town Manager or his/her designee shall install and maintain a leave record showing for each Town Department Head (1) annual leave earned, used and unused; (2) sick leave earned, used and unused; and (3) any other leave with or without pay. Leave Records. 1. Individual leave records are personal in nature and Management will not publicize either the use of leave or leave category totals. Only authorized timekeepers and supervisors shall be permitted to sign and retain ITCSs.
2. Annual or sick leave balances, in and of themselves, will not be a factor in promotion, performance appraisals, or disciplinary actions.

Within one (1) month after the close of each calendar year, each employee shall be advised by the Hospital of the amount of accumulated sick leave to credit. Any employee is to be advised on application of the amount of sick leave accrued to credit. of Illness For each occasion of illness, the employee shall be required to promptly report such illness in accordance with designated and posted procedure. Any employee who has been absent due to illness shall report intention to return to work no later than the day prior to the date actually returns to work, or in the case of absence of three (3) days or less, at least eight (8) hours prior to the scheduled shift. employee who fails to report an illness shall be considered absent without leave. The Hospital may require the employee to present documented proof of illness. Leave Defined Sick leave means the period of time an employee is permitted to be absent from work with full pay by virtue of being sick, disabled, exposed to contagious disease, or because of an accident for which compensation is not payable under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act. Payment Pending determination of Claims An employee who is absent from work as a result of an illness or injury sustained at work and who has been awaiting approval of claim for benefits for a period longer than one (1) complete pay period may apply to the Hospital for payment equivalent to the lesser of the benefit would receive from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board if claim was approved, or the benefit to which would be entitled under the sick leave plan. Payment will be provided only if the employee provides evidence of disability satisfactory to the Hospital and a written undertaking satisfactory to the Hospital that any payments will be refunded to the Hospital following final determination of the claim by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. If the claim for benefits is not approved, the monies paid as an advance will be applied towards the benefits to which the employee would be entitled under the sick leave plan. Any payment under this provision will continue for a maximum of fifteen weeks.
Leave Records. The Finance Department shall maintain the official record of each employee's leave status. A statement of vacation leave status shall be provided with each paycheck. The employees shall verify the vacation leave record and immediately notify their supervisor of any apparent errors in the record. In the absence of any notification of errors by the employee, the record maintained by the Town shall be the official record. Department heads are responsible for informing the Finance Director of leave usage by each department employee. Full-time employees wishing to observe religious holidays not listed by the Selectboard or in this agreement shall be entitled to time off, without pay, or to use vacation days or personal holidays. Sick leave eligibility shall begin to accrue at the end of the first month of employment and shall be available for use in accordance with the following procedure. Sick Leave is available for legitimate health/medical purposes. Sick leave use is not a privilege that an employee may use at their discretion. Use of sick leave is allowed only for the following conditions and circumstances: Personal illness or physical incapacity resulting from causes beyond the employee's control. Enforced quarantine of the employee in accordance with community health regulations. To meet medical or dental appointments, or other sickness prevention measures in excess of two (2) hours. For medical or dental appointments of less than two (2) hours, an employee may receive an authorized absence from work from the Police Chief, without using sick leave. Consistent use of single or multiple sick occurrences in conjunction with extended days off may constitute abuse. In case of multiple occurrences, the employee may be mandated to provide a doctor’s note. Illness or physical incapacity in the employee's immediate family requiring the employee's personal attention may be used up to a maximum of twelve
