SHIFT AND WEEKEND DIFFERENTIAL. 1. These provisions shall not apply to employees in Overtime Categories 13 and 18.
2. Effective the first pay period in July, 2014, Shift Differential rates shall be: SHIFT RATE PER HOUR 2nd $0.85 3rd $1.00
3. Employees shall receive a second shift differential if they work at least two (2) hours of an assigned shift which contains at least two (2) hours between 6 pm and midnight, and third shift differential if they work at least two (2) hours between midnight and 6 am. Classified employees who are regularly assigned to a shift which does not qualify them to receive shift differential shall not be eligible to receive shift differential if they are required to work overtime on a shift which might otherwise qualify the employees for shift differential pay. Such employees shall receive overtime compensation at the appropriate overtime rates for such work.
4. Shift differential will be added to the basic hourly rate before cash overtime is computed.
5. A “weekend shift” includes any regularly assigned shifts beginning on or after 10 pm Friday night and excludes any other shift beginning on or after 10 pm Sunday night.
6. Employees who actually work on a weekend shift, pursuant to regular assignment, including employees who do not self-activate or self-schedule, shall effective the first pay period in July 2001, receive a weekend differential of thirty-five cents ($.35) per hour on any weekend shift. Effective the first pay period in July 2002, the weekend differential rate will increase to forty cents ($.40) per hour. Employees not regularly assigned to a weekend shift but work overtime then, shall not receive weekend differential. Weekend differential will be added to any other shift differential and to the basic hourly rate before cash overtime is computed.
7. Liquor Investigators shall receive applicable shift differential for shifts worked as required or approved by the appointing authority, effective July 7, 1991.
8. Effective July 13, 2003, Department of Buildings and General Services employees in the classes listed below, who are actually required to work at least one (1) hour in a correctional facility inmate living unit, on the first or second shift and in the presence of inmates, shall be entitled to receive a living unit differential of $.50 for each hour worked in such unit. SHIFT AND WEEKEND DIFFERENTIAL. The existing rules, regulations and rates for night shift differential will continue in force except as follows:

Shift differential will be paid at night shift premium at the following rates: $1.57 per hour without first aid $1.66 per hour with first aid $1.83 per hour for Team Leaders This hourly differential shall increase at the same percentage as any general wage increase. Weekend differential of fifteen percent (15%) per shift. All differential paid out at end of the following month.
SHIFT AND WEEKEND DIFFERENTIAL. 1. An employee to be eligible for shift or weekend differential, shall be required to work not less than 4 hours of his/her regular workday in either the second or third shift, and when the employee satisfies this requirement the shift differential shall be paid for out of the hours of his/her regular workday.
2. Shifts eligible for shift differential are as follows: 2nd shift 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. 3rd shift 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a. m.

4. An employee performing work compensated under the OVERTIME Article of this Agreement shall not receive shift or weekend differential pay for the same hours regardless of the period worked.
5. Shift and weekend differentials will be paid for regular assignments except for the fact that the employee was on vacation, 09 days, holiday, sick leave or funeral leave.
SHIFT AND WEEKEND DIFFERENTIAL. (a) Eligibility for shift differential payments is tied to the shift, not the employees’ work schedule. Employees who are regularly assigned to shifts beginning on or after 2:00 p.m. shall be entitled to night shift differential payments. Payment shall be made whether employee works a regular shift or an overtime shift, provided the shift meets the eligibility criteria. Payment will be made for all hours worked during the eligible shift. Shift differential shall not he paid for work which is not part of an established shift, e.g. overtime work which falls between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. or which extends the employee’s work day more than ten (10) hours. Shift differential shall be included in pay for vacation, holiday, sick leave and personal leave, but not in pay for compensatory time taken in lieu of overtime payment.
(b) For purposes of this agreement a weekend is defined as the forty-eight (48) hour period beginning at 11:00 p.m. on Friday night and ending at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday night. Weekend differential shall be paid for working a full shift with majority of shift hours falling on the weekend. Weekend differential shall be paid only for employees working at seven (7) day operations and only for hours worked and not for leave time.
(c) Mental Retardation Adult Services Instructors, State School Teachers, Correctional Recreation Supervisors and Correctional Department Vocational Instructors are eligible for shift and weekend differentials.
(d) The shift differential shall be sixty-five cents ($.65) per hour and the weekend differential shall be forty cents ($.40) per hour. Effective June 23, 2006, the shift differential shall be seventy-five cents ($.75) per hour and the weekend differential shall be fifty cents ($.50) per hour. Effective July 6, 2007, the shift differential shall be eighty-five cents ($.85) per hour and the weekend differential shall be sixty cents ($.60) per hour. Effective July 4, 2008, the weekend differential shall be seventy-five cents ($.75) per hour. Effective October 1, 2008, the EMT stipend shall be four hundred seventy-five dollars ($475). An employee who works at least four (4) hours of his/her regularly scheduled eight- hour shift within the second or third shift as defined in subsection 21.a. or 21.b., below, shall be paid, in addition to his/her base salary, the following shift differential premium for all the hours worked during that shift:
a. Second Shift 3:00 p. m. to 11:00 p. m. $0.40 per hour.
b. Third Shift ----- 11:00 p. m. to 7:00 a. m. $0.45 per hour.
21.2. Shift premium in the above amounts shall be paid for all hours for which an employee would have received a regular shift assignment but for the fact that the employee was on vacation, holiday, sick leave or funeral leave.
21.3. Weekend differential for regularly scheduled Saturday work paid to an employee shall be in the amount of $0.50 per hour and the weekend differential for regularly scheduled Sunday work and holidays paid to an employee shall be in the amount of $0.60 per hour.
21.4. An employee performing work under the OVERTIME provision of this Agreement shall not receive shift or weekend differential pay for the same hours regardless of the period worked.
SHIFT AND WEEKEND DIFFERENTIAL. 1. An employee who works at least four (4) hours of his/her regularly scheduled 8-hour shift within the second or third shift shall be paid, in addition to his/her base salary, the following shift differential premium for all the hours worked during that shift:
a. Second shift - 3:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. - $0.40 per hour b. Third shift - 11:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. - $0.45 per hour
2. An employee who works at least four (4) hours on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday shall be paid, in addition to his/her base salary, the following premiums: Saturday work - $0.50 per hour (all shifts) Sunday and Holiday work - $0.60 per hour (all shifts). 3. An employee who is on paid vacation, holiday, '09' day or sick leave during a period in which his/her regular shift assignment is the second or third shift or first shift weekend, shall receive any second or third shift differential premium pay or weekend differential premium pay that he/she would have received had he/she not been on paid leave; however, the holiday differential premium shall be paid only on the basis of work performed on a holiday.
4. An employee performing work under the OVERTIME provision of this Agreement shall not be paid the shift differential premium for the same hours regardless of the period worked.
5. For administrative purposes, shift differential premiums shall be computed to the nearest 0.1 of an hour.
SHIFT AND WEEKEND DIFFERENTIAL. In addition to his Basic Rate of Pay, a shift differential of one dollar per hour shall be paid to Employees working a shift whereby the majority of such shift falls within the period of hours to hours. In addition to his Basic Rate of Pay and any entitled shift differential, a weekend differential of fifty cents per hour shall be paid to Employees working a shift whereby the majority of such shift falls within the period between hours Friday and hours Monday.
