YEAR ROUND EDUCATION. Unit members assigned to a newly designated year-round education site who request a transfer shall be given first consideration for other vacancies in the Agency within their classification upon request. A traditional year schedule employee whose position becomes designated as a year-round education position and who elects not to continue in the position will have bumping rights according to seniority. The vacant position will first be flown in-house for interested applicants. Unit members not assigned to year-round education sites whose most recent evaluation contains an overall rating of satisfactory or better may request to be placed on the substitute list for their off-duty days. Unit members called to serve as substitutes will receive their regular rate of pay if they substitute in their own classification. If the employee substitutes in a classification in which he/she has previously served, he/she shall receive the regular rate of pay for that classification. If the employee substitutes in a classification in which he/she has not previously served, he/she shall receive the regular substitute rate.

YEAR ROUND EDUCATION. 19.1 CSEA agrees that single and multi-track, year round calendars may be initiated throughout the MCOE service regions. After a site has been designated by a district or MCOE as a year round site, the work year shall become effective on July 1 of the year round schedule, or as mutually agreed. 19.2 MCOE’s staff must follow students. Example: If school district is going year round, “Migrant, ROP, Special Education,” and other MCOE program/staff would have to be year round. Below are examples of the most commonly used calendars used by districts:  45-15 Single Track Plan One track of four (4) 9-week terms separated by four (4) 3-week vacation periods.  45-15 Multiple Track Plan Similar, except that 2 to 4 tracks are used and vacation periods are rotated.  45-15 Flexible Plan Can be operated on either the single or multiple tract system with an additional advantage of allowing for individualized curriculum.  60-20 Plan A variation of the 45-15 and can be operated on either a single or multiple track system.  90-30 Plan Two (2) 90-day semesters separated by a 30-day vacation period.  Concept 6 Six (6) terms of approximately 43 days each. Students are divided into 3 groups and 1 group is always on vacation.  Modified Traditional School is in session from the beginning of August through the end of May. Off session periods are observed during June and July, two weeks in October and March, and one week in December.  Quarter Plan Divides the calendar into 4 twelve-week periods of time: fall, winter, spring and summer. Students may select, or are assigned, to any combination of 3 of the 4 quarters. They may attend the fourth on voluntary basis, either on or off campus.  Rainbow Calendar An employee may be assigned to a rainbow calendar to provide services to more than one track or to a combination of year round and traditional sites. A year round employee on an assigned track intersession who is available for the entire period of summer school or independent home study will be paid the summer hourly rate. 19.3 Any employee who suffers a reduction in hours, as defined in Article 15.1.2 of the Contract, due to a change from a traditional school calendar to a year round calendar shall be entitled to all of the rights, privileges and procedures as specified in Article 15 of the Contract. 19.4 Employees currently assigned to a newly designated year round site shall be offered the opportunity to remain at the site prior to adjusting the position district-wide. 1...
YEAR ROUND EDUCATION. 25.1 The following procedures shall be in effect if the Board of Trustees takes action to change a school from a traditional calendar to a year-round education calendar: The parties recognize that some factors that relate to year-round education scheduling and are within the scope of bargaining may not have been identified. Should problems arise because of such unanticipated factors, the parties agree to meet for the purpose of resolving those problems.

The County Office of Education may implement cross-track schedules that allow all 5 tracks equal access to assistants without increasing the number of duty days beyond 6 that of other unit members (Rainbow Schedule). 7 2. The modified work year schedule may include four-day weeks and should provide for 8 at least one vacation of four-week duration (if feasible). 9 3. The affected unit member and their administrator will mutually agree upon a 10 schedule. 12 B. Staffing/Assignments 13 1. The assistant currently assigned to a program going on a YRE schedule has the option 14 of remaining with the program, unless the assignment includes increased length of 15 work year. If a YRE assignment includes increased length of work year, the position 16 should be made available to all interested staff. The assignment should be made based 17 on necessary skills and knowledge and seniority. 18 2. If an assistant assigned to a program going year round requests to transfer to a 19 traditional schedule, the request must be submitted by March 15th. The position shall 20 be made available to all interested staff. The assignment should be made based on 22 3. Any new openings created due to transfers into year round education shall be filled 23 according to the transfer article. 24 4. If current classified employees are not interested in year round education positions 25 and vacancies exist, the YRE position will be assigned to new assistants as hired. 26 5. YEAR ROUND EDUCATION. A. Work year 1. The calendar shall reflect a range of 175-180 student days and one (1) additional teacher day contiguous with student days. 2. Minimum days for students shall be held for all tracks at the end of each track cycle. 3. Teachers shall not be required to attend in-service or meetings during their off-track time; however, if the teacher's presence is requested and he/she agrees to attend, he/she may opt for in-lieu days or paid days for the time in attendance. B. Workday The length of the instructional day shall be increased to equal the minutes of a one hundred eighty (180) day work year on a traditional schedule.
YEAR ROUND EDUCATION. If and when an alternate student attendance calendar (such as, but not limited to, multi- track, YRE, single track YRE, modified YRE, or split shifting) is reinstated in any grades K-12, then both parties agree that this article will be subject to re-negotiation. YEAR ROUND EDUCATION. 20.1 Teachers employed by the Employer who transfer to a school with a year round calendar, instead of being provided with two months of salary in August of the year of the transfer, shall be paid an additional month of salary at the conclusion of their service with the Employer. A teacher affected by this clause who then transfers back to a traditional school year shall receive the additional month in the same manner. 20.2 Teachers who are hired by the Employer in a school with a year round calendar shall be paid their monthly salary as per clause 18.2 from August to July of each school year. If a teacher hired in a school with a year round calendar transfers to a school with a traditional school year, they shall continue to be paid from August to July and are not eligible for any compensation under clause 20.1 20.3 The salary pursuant to clause 20.1 shall be at the rate of pay in effect at the time payment under clause 20.1 is carried out. 20.4 The payment due under this clause shall be secured by way of a written addendum to the individual teachers' current employment contract.
YEAR ROUND EDUCATION. A. Staffing of Existing School Site Being Converted to Year-Round Education 1. An existing site level teacher shall be given priority in initial staffing; i.e., remaining at such site. 2. Any teacher requesting transfer from such site shall be given first consideration for any vacancy for which he/she applies. If two (2) or more teachers request transfer to the same vacancy, the most senior District teacher at such site shall be given first consideration in filling such vacancy. 3. Teachers at other sites who volunteer for any vacancies at the YRE site subsequent to A.1 above shall be given first consideration in filling such vacancies. 4. If there are vacancies at the YRE site for which no volunteers have applied, the District may involuntarily transfer or reassign teachers who meet credential requirements to these vacancies in accordance with Article V., Paragraph A.3., and Article V, Paragraph B.3., respectively. The District shall be limited, however, to selecting a teacher from a pool of three (3) regular classroom teachers, based upon inverse District seniority. For purposes of this subsection only, full-time temporary teachers shall be considered a part of this pool; i.e., pool may exceed three, providing District Budget and staffing projections indicate possible retention of such temporary teachers for the following school year. 5. Once a YRE site has been initially staffed in accordance with Paragraph A above, all subsequent vacancies shall be filled in accordance with Article V - TRANSFERS AND REASSIGNMENTS, or Subparagraph B.3. of this Article.

The plan is to supplement the employment insurance benefits received by workers for temporary unemployment caused by maternity. (a) Employees must prove that they have applied for and are in receipt of employment insurance benefits in order to receive payment under the plan. (b) SUB is payable for a period during which an employee is not in receipt of EI if the only reason for non-receipt is the claimant: i) is serving the two week EI waiting period, ii) has insufficient weeks of insurable employment to qualify for EI or iii) has exhausted her entitlement to EI. 4. The benefit level paid under this plan is set at 100 per cent of the employee's regular weekly earnings. The combined weekly rate of the EI benefit and SUB payments will not exceed 100 per cent of the employees' normal weekly earnings. 5. This SUB benefit will be paid for 15 weeks. (a) The plan is financed by the Member Employer's general revenues. (b) SUB payments will be kept separate from payroll records. 7. The duration of the plan is from the time it is received by Employment Immigration Canada until such time as it is amended or altered by negotiations of the collective agreement. 8.
