HOURS AND LOAD. Section A. Workday 1. The normal in-school day shall consist of not more than eight (8) hours. 2. On Fridays and on days preceding holidays or vacations, the employees’ day shall end at the close of the pupils’ day. Section B. Meetings 1. Faculty Meetings Employees may be required to remain after the end of the regular workday, except in cases of emergency, for the purpose of attending faculty meetings one (1) day each month. Such meetings shall last no later than 4:30 p.m. If additional time is needed, students shall be dismissed early. Meetings shall not be called on Fridays or on any day immediately preceding any holiday or other day upon which teacher attendance is not required at school. 2. In addition to faculty meetings, employees are expected to attend open house or in-take parent-teacher conferences and parent-teacher conferences that occur at times other than normal working hours.

HOURS AND LOAD. 1. The schedule for each full-time equivalent teacher for preparation/planning time shall be a minimum of two hundred (200) minutes per week. No other duties shall be assigned during the above-referenced time periods and such time periods will be provided to teachers during the regular school day exclusive of time taken for lunch and travel. 2. Exceptions to the above provisions may be made only with the agreement of the staff member and the administration. The Association shall be notified in each instance, in advance, if possible.
HOURS AND LOAD. A. The official length of instructional time for students shall not exceed six (6) hours. B. These hours shall not be modified except for real emergencies without notice to and negotiation with the Association, provided that no such modification shall increase the length of the unit members’ work day. C. Unit members shall not be required to report earlier than fifteen (15) minutes before the start of the students’ school day. Whenever there is a need for a unit member to report earlier than fifteen (15) minutes before the students’ school day, it shall not be more than thirty (30) minutes beforehand. D. Unit members shall not be required to remain in school more than fifteen (15) minutes past the end of their students’ school day. E. Notwithstanding paragraphs C and D above, the work day for unit members shall be fifteen (15) minutes longer than where specified, with this additional time to be allocated at the beginning or end of the day at the discretion of the District Superintendent. F. In addition to the hours required above, unit members may be required to remain for meetings and/or in- service training, not to exceed 32 cumulative hours per school year. Through June 30,2019 only the maximum cumulative horns per school year for classroom teaching assistants and educational interpreters shall be 30 instead of 32. Unit members will be notified at least 30 days in advance of the time, place, and estimated duration of all such meetings and training sessions, provided that shorter notice may be given when an emergency arises and a meeting’s purpose could not have been anticipated in advance. Unit members may be excused from an emergency meeting if they can demonstrate extraordinary cause. No meeting or training session shall last for more than two hours. The BOCES shall schedule all non­ emergency meetings on a day of the week to be determined by the BOCES each June for the following school year. Four (4) of the 32 hours will be devoted to activities relating to evaluations, assessments, and documentation of student performance. The building administrator will identify these hours in advance. An Advisory Staff Development Committee will be formed with equal representation from the BSA and the BOCES to plan the meeting hours related to in-service training, to include work and training relating to the Compact for Learning, to ensure that the needs of unit members, as well as the BOCES are met. HOURS AND LOAD. 4.1 The Committee and the Association acknowledge that the teacher’s prime responsibility is not only to teach a specific subject but that the teacher must also be dedicated to the objective of aiding students in the developing of desirable habits, attitudes, interests, personality and character patterns. The teacher’s professional distinction lies not only in a vast knowledge of subject matter, but also in the ability to help students grow emotionally, physically and socially as well as academically. 4.2 The starting and dismissal times for all students in the Blue Hills Regional Technical School shall be determined solely by the Committee in conjunction with the requirements set forth by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
HOURS AND LOAD a. The work year is forty (40) weeks long. Instructors begin work on the Tuesday after Labor Day and the students begin on the Wednesday after Labor Day. The work year ends two days following graduation which is held on the last Sunday of June. b. Instructors are required to work the forty (40) week work year. When the number of days in the work year extends beyond 183 days, the instructors are paid the per diem rate for each day worked beyond 183 days{per diem rate= annual Appendix B salary/183). The work year of the "Cluster Chair" (fonnerly called "Department Head") is ten (10) days beyond the instructors' work year. The Cluster Chair is paid the per diem rate for each day worked beyond the 183 days (per diem rate = annual Appendix B salary/183). With the advance approval ofthe Superintendent, the Cluster Chair may work additional days and be compensated at the per diem rate. c. The elapsed time of the work day is seven (7) hours for instructors. d. LPN instructors do not work on any day that Blue Hills Regional Technical High School is not in session except that flexibility is provided for the purpose of scheduling clinical make-up days on weekends, evening and/or over school vacations.

HOURS AND LOAD. A. As it applies to teachers/unit employees: Personnel shall indicate their presence for duty by placing their initials in the appropriate column of the facility sign-in/out roster located in the Faculty Lounge or other conveniently located area or areas to be agreed upon in advance by the Association and the appropriate division head. B. As it applies to teachers: 1. The following starting and ending times shall apply unless scheduled assignments start later due to unexpected circumstances, i.e., late buses, weather, however, ending times will remain the same. Teachers shall be required to report to their scheduled assignment no later than 7:30 A.M. and shall not be required to remain beyond 2:40 P.M. at the Gloucester Township Campus and no later than 7:34 A.M. and shall not be required to remain beyond 2:44 P.M. at the Pennsauken Campus. The extra period before school shall begin 45 minutes prior to the opening of school and end 3 minutes before the opening of school. The extra period after school shall begin 3 minutes after the close of school and 42 minutes thereafter. Those teachers who have morning hall duty or parking lot duty shall report and be at their duty station at 7:15 A.M. at the Gloucester Township Campus and 7:19 A.M. at the Pennsauken Campus and those Teachers who conduct detention shall not be required to stay beyond 3:01 P.M. at the Gloucester Township Campus and 3:05 P.M. at the Pennsauken Campus. Teachers on affiliation with area hospitals or clinics shall, at the request of the hospital or clinic commence work at the time the employees of the hospital or clinic commence work for the day shift; provided, that the length of the teacher's school day shall be as otherwise established in this Agreement. (In the event that the district implements a breakfast program, the parties will meet prior to such implementation to negotiate the impact. The parties further agree that the length of workday shall not be increased and that all volunteers shall be utilized before any non- volunteers are assigned.) Effective 2015-16, all teachers (at both campuses) shall report for their scheduled assignments no later than 7:34 a.m. and shall not be required to remain beyond 2:44 p.m., except where the teacher is assigned early or late duty. HOURS AND LOAD. The grade 7-12 Supervisors’ teaching load will be two (2) teaching periods less than other members of the respective departments. The K-12 Supervisors will teach three (3) classes less than other members of their respective departments. The Supervisors’ teaching load may be reduced an additional class with the Principal’s permission if there is no financial cost or harm to the educational program.
