Posting Positions and Filling Vacancies. (i) The Employer agrees that, before permanently filling any vacancy in a position covered by this Agreement, notice of such vacancy shall be posted for seven (7) calendar days in such conspicuous places as may be designated by the Administrator, Human Resources. Job postings will be placed in all Employer locations where Union personnel are employed. (ii) Notices shall contain information extracted from the job specifications when applicable, including: Nature of the position, qualifications, required knowledge and education, skills, shift, wage or salary range, and the anticipated length of any temporary assignment, if posted. All job postings shall state that the position is open to both male and female applicants, and that it is under Union jurisdiction. The Union will be provided with copies of all job postings. (iii) Effective 2001 September 21, in the event that a vacancy is posted as per (i) above, and other vacancies occur in the same classification in the same division prior to a selection on the initial posting, the Employer has the option of filling subsequent position(s) from the initial posting. (b) The procedure in Clause 11.4(a) shall apply to temporary positions which are expected to exceed six (6) months in duration. Where a Regular Full-Time Employee is appointed to a temporary position, the employee shall be returned to a position of equal value to the employee's former position without loss of seniority when the temporary work is completed. (c) Positions not previously posted as in Clauses 11.4(a) and 11.4(b) and filled by Temporary Full-Time Employees will be examined at the end of six (6) months to ascertain whether permanency is indicated, in which case the position will be posted in the usual way. (d) When no Regular Full-Time Employee applies for or succeeds in being appointed to a posted temporary position, a Temporary Full-Time Employee who has applied for such position may be appointed thereto. (e) The Employer will notify the Union whenever Provincial or Federal Government grants are awarded and personnel employed under the provisions of the grant will be confined to the special project for which the grant was awarded and are not to be used to supplement the work force under Union jurisdiction. (f) Where an employee wishes to apply for a position which is expected to become vacant while the employee is on authorized leave of absence or on vacation, application for such position may be made before commencing such leave or vacat...

Posting Positions and Filling Vacancies. ‌ (a) Within one (1) week of the Employer determining that a vacancy exists, which shall include resignation or termination of an incumbent, or the creation of a new position, the Employer shall post notice on the bulletin boards located at the City Yard Lunchroom, RCMP Station, Xxxxx Centre, Filberg Centre, The LINC, Trades Shop, and in the Courtenay City Hall Staff Room for a minimum of one (1) week, and all employees shall be permitted to apply. Such notice shall contain the following information: Nature of position, qualifications, required knowledge and education, skills, shift, hours of work, wage or salary rate or range. Such qualifications and requirements shall be those necessary to perform the job function. (b) If the position is filled internally, it shall be filled within three (3) weeks of expiration of the posting period. (c) The posting provision referred to in Article 12.01 (a) will apply to all vacancies or new positions that are regular status, casual or temporary positions of four (4) continuous months or more of full- time hours, and any casual positions that become regular status. (d) Regular employees shall receive first consideration for a job posting over temporary, casual, and external applicants. Temporary and casual employees shall receive consideration over external applicants. (e) No outside advertisement for additional employees shall be made until employees have had a full opportunity to apply.
