President Release. The parties recognize that it is to the advantage of the District, the Association, and the community for the President to take an active role to xxxxxx a positive work environment for employees and a positive learning environment for students. The parties also understand the importance to build a positive, collaborative, and pro-active problem solving approach to issues. The Association President shall be released from his/her regular duties in the District and classified as a Teacher on Special Assignment.
4.7.1 The District shall pay for all health and welfare costs up to the cap for the President, as well as all statutory benefits that are paid by the District on behalf of all other certificated bargaining unit members.
4.7.2 It is understood that the Association President shall have access to all District sites. The President must abide by all District policies and site procedures as it relates to visitors on campus including, but not limited to, visitor sign in processes and assurances of not disrupting the educational process. The Association President will provide the appropriate principal or supervisor with relevant information after each site visit.
4.7.3 The Association President shall have the right to return to the site and position from which he/she was assigned previous to release up to a maximum of two (2) consecutive years, and have the right to return to their previous site up to a maximum of six (6) consecutive years. He/she will also have the option of putting in a transfer request. The District shall pay the president the same salary and fringe benefits he/she would have received without loss of seniority, salary, step increase, or benefits.
4.7.4 As part of the released time assignment, the Association President may be required by the District to provide up to twenty-five (25) days, or equivalent hours of service of mutual interest and benefits to the Parties as jointly determined by the President and the Superintendent or designee. Such services may include conducting information meetings concerning professional growth, developing ways to assist non-permanent unit members, attempting to resolve reported conflicts of certificated employees at the earliest and most informal level, assisting with the recruitment of new teachers, representing the District and Association at appropriate out of district functions, gathering data for use of both Parties in the negotiation process, developing and presenting in-services to district employees ...
President Release. Upon appropriate notice and schedule coordination with the immediate supervisor, the Chapter President or designee(s) shall also be entitled to release time, exclusive of negotiations, with no loss of pay for the purpose of conducting lawful Association business. Such release time may be taken in any length segments, except that if a replacement is hired, release time must be taken for a minimum of four (4) hours. The Chapter President will have fifty percent (50%) of their workday release time every day to conduct Association business. The release time shall be mutually set by the Chapter President and their immediate supervisor at the beginning of the President’s contractual year.
President Release. The Board shall grant a leave of absence to a Teacher who holds the office of President of the Local. The Union shall reimburse the Board for the release of the President at Category A2 step 0.
President Release. The Association President’s schedule shall include half-time release to attend to Association business. Arrangements to accommodate such scheduling shall be made between the Association President and the Principal or immediate supervising administrator. If the President and the Principal or immediate supervising administrator cannot mutually establish a workable schedule the Chief Talent Officer, and the OEA consultant shall intervene to reach a resolution. Semiannually the Association shall receive a statement from the treasurer’s office and reimburse the Board the prorated cost for the release time based on the salary at MA Step 1 or the President’s salary, whichever is less. Such reimbursement shall also include the prorated cost of STRS, Workers’ Compensation and Medicare. The Board shall continue to pay for insurance costs for the President as a full-time teacher as established in Article 4.10, 4.11, 4.12 and 4.13.
President Release. In the event that the Association President is unable to fulfill his/her duties, the District shall return the President to District employment status. Per Association directive, the District shall release the Association Vice President for the remainder of that term. The Evergreen Education Association shall, upon written request, be granted leaves of absence. Such leaves shall be for a portion of a day or a full day. The Association president will be granted leave of up to four years; however, he/she will not be guaranteed return to the position last held if the leave extends beyond two years. The Association shall reimburse the District for released time of the Association officer at the contracted salary and for fringe benefit costs of the officer. Upon completion of the period of leave for Association officers, the employee shall receive credit for time spent the same as if employed by the District during the leave period. For all other purposes (i.e., sick leave accrual, transfer, layoff), the Association officer who was on leave shall be treated as if he/she had not gone on the period of Association leave. The Association president shall receive all supplemental compensation afforded members of the bargaining unit including flex days, etc., provided that in-service days designated in Article VI Section B would be paid for by the District when:
a. Notification, in writing to the Superintendent or designee, of intent to attend in-service training scheduled or approved by the District is given at least one week in advance of the in-service activity.
b. The in-service training is applicable to the president's previous or future work assignments within the District, as designated by the Superintendent or designee. Extra workdays, TRI activities, and personal leave that are taken by the Association president will be the responsibility of the Association, and the Association will reimburse the District upon request for payment. The released time provided must involve an actual replacement of the Association member released, and students must not be added to the class loads of other employees in that person's school. The request for released time must be made in writing to the Superintendent or designee a minimum of two (2) months prior to the beginning day of the school year or when the released time is to start.
President Release. The Association President or their designee will be released to attend unit leader 27 meetings called by the Superintendent during the school year.
President Release. 20.1 The President of the Federation shall be released from fifty percent (50%) of work duties to conduct the affairs of the Federation with no loss of pay, benefits, or seniority. The President of the Federation shall conduct union orientations pursuant to section 5A of MGL c. 150E during this president's release time. The President shall coordinate with building management to schedule orientations during the designated president’s release times.
President Release. The President of the Association who is a high school Bargaining Unit Employee shall be granted one (1) duty-free period each day for the purposes of conducting Association business. The President of the Association who is a middle school Bargaining Unit Employee shall be excused from participating what is currently scheduled as the ninth (9th) period for the purposes of conducting Association business. In the event the President of the Association is an elementary school Bargaining Unit Employee, the Association and the Board agree to bargain time when the President of the Association can conduct Association business during the work day.
President Release. The President of the Unit be released up to full-time from assigned duties in order to perform the functions of the position of President. The chief executive officer of this Bargaining Unit shall be released up to from assigned duties in order to perform the functions of the elected office. Requests for release time for additional members of Unit shall be submitted in writing to the Director of Education or designate.
President Release. The CUPE President may, with the approval of his/her supervisor, and such approval will not be unreasonably withheld, be released from his/her assigned duties for a maximum of ten (10) hours per week (not to be accumulated) for the purpose of meeting with management, participating in management or joint meetings, attending to union business (Local 1310) or for other related purposes. This arrangement is being implemented on a trial basis and will expire effective August 31, 2012 unless renewed in writing by both parties. Notwithstanding Article 21.03 and 21.06 at the employee's option, compensating lieu time at the applicable rate, may be taken at a time agreed to by the employee and the employee's supervisor. In the event that such compensating time off is not granted prior to the end of the respective calendar year, plus ten (10) days, then the employee will be paid in accordance with Article 21.03 and 21.06. This Letter of Understanding will expire August 31, 2012 unless renewed in writing by both parties.
